Yep. He admitted to living near the location, but denies having any involvement and doesn't know how his DNA got on them.Angela Brosso went missing near Cactus & 23rd Ave.. Did he actually live near there too back in 1992? I haven't read where he was living at the time
Detective William Schira, an officer at the time, remembers patrolling the area on his bike. "I don't remember seeing a lot of people out and about on the bike trails," says Schira. Schira is now one of the Phoenix Police Department's cold case investigators re-examining the cases. There are a lot of similarities.
"They were stabbed multiple times but there was one very distinctive stab wound."
In both cases, investigators believe the girls were killed between 7 and 9 p.m., murdered within yards of the bike paths.

He stabbed her in the back and claimed self-defense?! Wow!A little more information regarding the 2002 case in Everett WA..
MRR was out walking in Everett, Washington, on May 23, 2002, when she accepted a ride from a man whom she recognized from a friend's apartment complex. During the car ride, they talked about how some of the trails and pathways near that complex were dangerous. The man then took her to his work and stabbed her in the back with a 12-inch serrated knife.
Miller, 42, was arrested in the attack but acquitted after claiming the woman tried to rob him. He moved back to Arizona shortly afterward and quietly resumed his life before being arrested this week.
