Dozens gather for vigil to honor missing geologist Daniel Robinson

March 13, 2022
The vigil began at 6:30 p.m. where at least 50 people gathered on the Capitol Lawn outside of the Arizona State Capitol Museum.

To conclude the event, David Robinson gave a speech about Daniel and the community's efforts to find him.

"I've been here since June 26 searching for my son. He's been missing almost going on nine months now," said Robinson. "I've been begging and pleading for the local police department to help me do more in my endeavors. All I have now is a grassroots organization where we go out and search, passing out flyers, doing everything we can for him."

A $10,000 reward is being offered by Daniel's family for information that can bring him home. If you have any information, go to pleasehelpfinddaniel.com or call a tip line at 844-602-0660.

Would this scenario for example the localized rain also apply to a light vehicle as opposed to a heavier vehicle such as the Jeep regarding the tracks?
You mean like an ATV? ATV actually make more damage because of the nobbier tires and lower gearing. His Jeep is a lightweight vehicle BTW compared to most other models and actual larger 6 and 8 cylinder 4 wheel drives. Not sure what you are getting at?
He was not chased MOO. (Despite the constant repetition of a "hope" or "perception" by Mr. Robinson, the evidence doesn't back it up in any fashion so far.)

In this article it states "David says his disappearance is particularly suspicious because Daniel’s cellphone was wiped clean, and it was missing a memory card when police recovered it."

That is simply not true. The police report states that the police found the the text message exchange with K on his phone in his trash folder. There may just not have been a memory card in the phone. I never bought one for mine, b/c I have a lot of internal storage.

Edit: Deleting text messages does not equate to "wiping a phone clean." It is in line with deleting your photos off Instagram. I can think of reasons for both that Daniel would have done so himself that are in line with his behaviour in the days before his disappearance.

I have deleted text conversations off of my phone both accidently and purposely, as well as archived them. I think it's just a matter of not having an understanding of tech.

Yes I meant a light weight vehicle obviously we all know Daniel's Jeep is a regular road vehicle. As you said (nobbly) haven't heard that term before but I think you mean wobbly? Anyways I do realize that they could be wobbly but IMO I think something like a small vehicle could have been behind him such as a motorcyle or ATV type of vehicle. Daniel's Jeep being bigger and the rain having gotten rid of the tracks of his Jeep the same can be said for a smaller type of vehicle. Its a possibility. I know I've said this before plus LE missed the vehicle firstly due to the terrain and makeup of the desert from view overhead. Its possible in that time span things could have messed up Daniel's crash sight. So for me the possibilities remain. If his crash sight would have been found sooner then I would agree with you. At this time I can't let go of the possibility of something else happeneing. Unfortunately we don't have an exact time of his crash other than the data that could be correct or not (as the I believe PI pointed out.) So even that I believe is fuzzy so IMO he could've been sleeping in his car somewhere very close and been passed out due to being tired. He drove well as was obeserved by his coworker so why all of a sudden does he stop driving as he has for the last couple of hours. It doesn't make sense to me.

@5W's , knobby refers to tire tread.

An ATV able to travel through this area would leave distinctive tire tracks. Searchers, indeed most locals, know what to look for. ATVs and dirt bikes and passenger cars and pickups leave different marks on the desert.

IIRC, LE and searchers do not report such tire tracks -- do you have a link indicating ATV traffic in the area of the Jeep?

I haven't seen any reports either of ATV tracks. Thanks for referencing the definition, one learns something new everyday which is a good thing. I was just thinking because of the rain and at some points it was heavy apparently (yes, I am aware of the localized condition of rain that area has as I've learned here, thanks for that also Sleuthers) that tracks could have been wiped out. And as these are light weight vehicles it would be more logical for these to be wiped out in areas of heavy rain IMO.

I want to focus on the coworker's observation of Daniel's conversation at the work site before vanishing. He said that Daniel was not making sense. If one looks at it literally was he saying that Daniel was not making sense because they had work to do and they couldn't leave the work site or was he saying that Daniel wasn't making sense because he wanted to leave to rest? I took it as Daniel was asking him if he wanted to leave and rest possibly because it was raining so Daniel wanted to take advantage of the rain falling aspect. I also took it as Daniel wasn't asking the question directly but was inferring to it. So could it be that the coworker was referring to the inferred rationale as not making sense as they had work to do. Plus IIRC weren't they in one of their vehicles due to the rain and just happened to be sitting in the same vehicle becuse of the rain? To me his conversation doesn't appear really to not make sense if it was inferring to the rain and Daniel just happened to be tired.

As seen in my video (made in late mid to late August), after many rains, his tracks were still evident. No other tracks of any kind (other than the Ranchers who found the vehicle and subsequent LE rescue vehicles) were in the IMMEDIATE area.

Ok that makes it more clearer, thanks. I see your point. Thanks. So I am now assuming that the rains may not have gotten rid of lighter weight vehicle tracks. I don't know if that is possible or not but I can consider it. Anyways it still doesn't mean that he couldn't at some point be followed. And please don't get me wrong I'm just talking possibilities and in no way does it diminish your work or LE's at all. It just seems there is a consensus that other posibilities are not even acknowledged as there are many unanswered questions. So I reserve my opinion on possibilities. If those question are answered then again I would agree and let it go but they are not being answered (I'm not saying that in a negative way about anyone's work at all this is a scary situation which can happen to anyone a person can fall asleep or be passed out and something can happen even an accident.)

Desert searches have been temporarily paused due to budget restraints per pleasehelpfinddaniel.com.

As of today $247,282 has been raised through the donation website.

I know David has an upcoming trip to Vegas for CrimeCon this weekend
David Robinson's schedule for CrimeCon 2022 , so I would expect those expenses would come out of it plus his monthly housing expenses to stay there to search. Does anyone know what has cost so much though to cause budget restraints? I was under the impression equipment use was donated and all searchers were volunteers. Is that not the case?

Sad.

I just think that a cranium would be hard for a scavenger to move around, it would be awkward for an animal to carry. Other bones I can see being moved as thy are not as awkward to carry. If we accept that a scavenger brought it there then there would also be other parts not that far because as I said of the awkwardness fctor. It wasn't a scavenger that brought it there unfortunately, it was a person that dumped it where it was found.
