I don't get why they couldnt just say they had a verdict and nothing more.

That judge is an azz and obviously doesn't realize what elvra will be going through waiting for this.

the more the day goes on the more i am getting annoyed :panic:

if they come back hung on count 1 i swear they don't have a brain cell between them. i am just hoping that they surprise us

What if they have a verdict on the murder charge but it's not guilty? Yikes...

Well I never thought of that. That would be worse than a hung jury.

Just about five hours to go,I will have to occupy myself to keep my mind off this

That was on my mind all night, what if NG on the first count and hung on the rest, that would be an utter disaster.

I'm still amazed the judge said anything about any of their verdicts/not verdicts, was there any point if he wasn't letting it be read until today? Who is being toyed with, JM? The family and supporters of DR?

However this comes out, I hope Danny's Mom knows that in the court of public opinion, Danny has vindication and justice.

You all can throw what ever you want at me here is what I think about the jury verdict.

Guilty on the animal cruelty and hung on the murder and aggravated assault. The reason I think this is because the murder and assault go together, and the animal cruelty is so obvious.

:truce:

Did the jurors feel intimidated? Voting to put a police officer behind bars for a long time is no easy task. I can imagine it must be stressful but they said they could do it.

And what happens to courageous Officer Virgillo if there is a not guilty verdict? It's going to be hard on him too.

If the verdict is guilty only of the animal abuse charge, I'm going to puke. This judge also makes me sick--why didn't he tell Chrisman he had to stay close to the court? Is he special or something?

The judge precluded the evidence that Chrisman is a meth user--that should have come in since the victim was thought of as human garbage because HE was on meth. Chrisman should also be looked at as garbage.

Chrisman is a punk who enjoys his power over others--and he is such a that he gets his kicks out of harassing mentally ill homeless women by planting crack pipes on their person while arresting them. Class act.

He's also a wife-swapper--which goes to his character. He's not a fresh-faced, moral police officer who is laying his life on the line for all the children--he likes to snort meth and sleep with his friends' wives while his wife sleeps with men. Class act.

The judge in this case has a disgraced former cop for a son, so I think that he is not the appropriate person for the job.

And why the heck didn't the jury get told to go back to the drawing board for the hung counts? Why is he just accepting the 'no agreement' verdicts?!

I wonder if HLN will cover it? I haven't turned that channel on in a while, have they even been talking about the trial?

I hope you're right Jewels, at least JM would be able to retry him. Does it have to stay with the same judge?

If #RichardChrisman is guilty on aggravated assault it carries a 5-15 year sentence...#WhatWouldThisJudgeDo...5?

Just a thought and I guess it could be possible!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. On the docket, does the number after the charge initial mean the degree (like F1 is 1st degree Felony, F3 is 3rd degree Felony, M1 is 1st degree Misdemeanor)?

Wow; I know where I will be at 10am PT. Poor Juan he must be wondering at this point in his career "what the f do I have to do to get around these tricks that defense attys use?" my quotes btw....

There are 10's of thousands of cases plead out every year in Maricopa County. That being said, most people cop a plea, unless they REALLY didn't do something, or are a complete sociopath *insert name of most despised Az murderer here CMJA cough*.

Gov Brewer announced that Az isn't in the hole anymore and there is a surplus of funds (thanks to cuts in Education and Health ) so if Montgomery is bound and determined to retry Chrisman, his office will pursue it. How will this be compounded by Mehran's retiring? I don't see the Judge holding his feet to the fire like another Judge who won't let certain defense attorneys quit their client.....so this could drag on for years.

Maybe cases like these should be reason to review specifics of the Law, that of "speedy trials", etc. How much of the trial system has been turned around to the advantage of the guilty and a burden on the Legal System and the Tax Payers that pay for it?

Just because a person is found "Not Guilty" doesn't mean they won't forever have a target on their back. Will Chrisman (if not found guilty or retried) relocate to Idaho? Land of the disenfranchised ex cops? I know his face, many others in Arizona know his face. If we pass by him on the street, will we mutter some indecency as we pass him? Will someone play out some "street justice"? PD fired him because THEY thought his actions were wrong. How much corruption can the average citizen, with a chip on his shoulder take, before they take the Law into their own hands?

Maybe the days of Arizona being a "Law and Order State" are coming to an end, the influx of people from around the Nation settling here and bringing their own ideas of right and wrong into our state. I'm getting tired of the victim being trashed in the court room.

Yep, there I go rambling again........I don't have a clue as to what the jury has come up with. I no longer trust their integrity..........

I posted somewhere in these threads about the charges and their sentences. One thing I remember is the animal cruelty has no prison time. I don't remember where that post is either.

Livestream is unavailable @ wildabouttrial. :banghead:

Anyone know the best link to see/hear this please?

Josie, I'm hoping Juan has prepared her for today, I'm sure he has. I'm sure since he also knows hung on 2 counts and verdict on 1, he probably has an idea of what two counts they are hung on since he knows the law and instructions backwards and forwards. I bet he's figured out exactly which counts they are hung on.

Oh yeah, I think I remarked about him being sure to bring his checkbook in the morning.

I meant to mention about Virgillo too, he's already taken so much of the brunt of this, I don't know what's to become of his police career.

I hope he knows many of us honor what he did (arresting RC and testifying), I hope he and other cops can work to rid the department of (or at least crowd out) those that bring dishonor to it.
