Missing baby's Dad Meets With Investigators

Fox News at nine was the only T.V. station with Logan Mcqueary when police notified him they were launching a homicide case.
In spite of the news, Mcqueary tells our Yami Virgin he now feels more comfortable that everything possible is being done to find his child.

UPDATED: Case now probed as homicide
Posted: 02/07/2010 12:00 CST
<snipped>
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus announced Saturday that the case of the missing 9-month-old infant known as Baby Gabriel is now being investigated as a kidnapping and a homicide.

McManus also said the Police Department would begin searching an East Side landfill as soon as weather permits for the body of Gabriel Johnson. The baby last was seen Dec. 26 in San Antonio with his mother, Elizabeth Johnson.

McManus said police have been planning to search the Tessman Road Landfill site “for a long time.” “Logistics make it hard,” he said. “We've been working with contractors, and worrying about toxic runoff associated with landfills. And, the weather hasn't been cooperating. We're expecting more rain in the next couple days.”

McManus said there was no rush to search the landfill “because evidence is not being lost.”

“Hopefully nothing will turn up in the landfill,” he said. “Hopefully we'll find him alive.”

Private Investigator Takes Up Missing Baby Search
Updated: Sunday, 07 Feb 2010, 5:44 PM MST
Published : Sunday, 07 Feb 2010, 5:44 PM MST

"We've got about 175 years of experience concentrating on this case," says private investigator Jay J. Armes. His team of detectives is assembled across Texas and Mexico searching for baby Gabriel.

Armes believes he can bring baby Gabriel home. "I've had about 150 underground kidnappings that I've worked on and recovered," he says.

He's criticizing the San Antonio Police Department for the way they've handled the case. On Saturday, police announced they're opening a homicide investigation into the baby's disappearance, so they can search a landfill for his body. "That is a cop out, because you just don't do that to parents of a child that is missing."

Over the weekend, McQueary met with San Antonio Police to talk about his son's case. Armes says that meeting was a disappointment. "They just wanted a photo op so that they could not be caught with egg in their faces. You open the file and there was zero there was nothing," says Armes.

Armes has set up a tipline for baby Gabriel. For more information, go to:

Tammi Smith From Person of Interest to Person In and Out of Jail on Bail As She Verbally Trashes Tempe Police
Thursday, February 4th, 2010 at 5:03 pm

tammi-smith-booking-photo-mug-shot.jpg

<snipped>
Two days ago, Tammi Smith was arrested and went to jail. When it happened, I said “it’s about time! Perhaps now we will find out what happened to baby Gabriel as this based on her body language and vocal tells in my view, she clearly knows a lot more than she is letting on verbally.

But Unfortunately Tammi was just released from jail and husband Jack got the $15,000 together to bail her out in the wee hours of the morning. On her way out Tammi had a few choice words for the Tempe Police Department.

Then Tammi gets rather cheeky or snarky as she says “Doesn’t mean those charges are going to stick. Doesn’t mean those charges are true. But nevertheless they were able to do that because they’re the guys with the guns,” said Smith.

That was NOT a very smart thing to do as Tammi will no doubt be back in her cozy jail cell sooner than she thinks when she discovers the charges against her will no doubt stick.

Why Was Tammi Arrested?

Why Isn’t Jack Smith in a Jail Cell?

jack-and-tammi-smith-hair-down.jpg

I can’t understand why the police didn’t arrest Jack Smith as well. In my view, he needed to be in the locked up as well. Maybe they let him go free, so that he could bail Tammi out of jail and so they can follow him in hopes that both he and Tammi will leak out some valuable information concerning precious Baby Gabriel.

Gabriel’s Daddy Logan McQueary’s Search and Being Trashed By Tammi

baby-gabriel-father.png

baby-gavriel-logan1.jpg

As she was leaving jail, Smith lashed out at Logan McQueary, as she said she Smith believes McQueary helped police craft the charges against her.

Then she self-righteously makes the following statement “I don’t believe in my heart of hearts he ever cared about getting that baby. If he did, he had weeks to go get that baby but never once tried. Never once did he go to San Antonio and go to every hotel off of the interstate to say, ‘Hey, have you seen this woman or this baby,’” Smith said.

It was not up to Logan to search for the boy. It was the call of the investigators. For Tammi to say this about Loagan speaks volumes as to her character and who she really is as aperson.

Tammi Needed to Be In Jail Longer

tammi-smith-escorted-to-jail.jpg

How I wish I could be in the room with her or in an adjoining room where I can watch her interrogation and have the investigator wear an earpiece where I can feed him questions to ask her. After I observe a “tell” of deception or another type of “tell”, I would help direct the questioning so that she could be tripped up.

Who Was This Mystery “Grandmother?” Was It Tammi?

baby-gabriel-babysitter-2.png

The babysitter who watched Baby Gabriel while Elizabeth left for several hours, spoke of a verbal fight she overheard between Elizabeth and a female over the phone, whom Elizabeth later revealed was her “grandmother.” When questioned, Elizabeth’s real grandmother said she never spoke to Elizabeth during that period of time

Perhaps this “grandmother” was none other than Tammi Smith.

Why Wasn’t Elizabeth and Tami’s Interview Videotaped or Audiotaped by Arizona Jail Authorities ?

smith-tammi-too-confident-walm.png

She’ll be baaaack!
Even though Tammi has shot off her big mouth making threats to the police, I have no doubt that she will be put back into jail sooner than later. It seems reasonable that she would be arrested for custodial interference and that charge will no doubt stick, so she will be serving time after a trial.

As someone who does jury consulting, I can assure you that no jury will be sympathetic to this brash overly confident masterminding threatening big mouth.

"We're searching all over,” Armes said from his Lower Valley compound. “My insticts are that the baby is still is alive, because there has been no sighting of any blood or any cadaver.”

"I've sent some agents out of town on some leads and they're pretty good, they're pretty believable," Armes said.

Armes said Gabriel may have been taken to Mexico, but he is investigating every possible situation.

Officers To Search Landfill For Body

Peg Mulloy, a spokeswoman for Arizona-based Republic Services Inc., which owns the 1,000-acre landfill that police plan to search, told the San Antonio Express-News that part of it has been blocked off since authorities contacted the waste management company.

McManus said police had been planning "for a long time" to search the site but rainy weather had caused delays.

"Logistics make it hard," he said. "We've been working with contractors, and worrying about toxic runoff associated with landfills. And, the weather hasn't been cooperating. We're expecting more rain in the next couple days."

Gabriel Alive? Elizabeth Johnson Followed Blueprint For Texas Adoption
New Evidence Suggests The Accused Kidnapper Planned To Give Baby Gabriel Away
POSTED: 11:44 pm MST February 7, 2010
UPDATED: 12:28 am MST February 8, 2010
<snipped>
After talking to an adoption expert who helps the FBI in the world of underground adoptions, the McQueary family learned some startling connections. The Homegate Hotel where Elizabeth stayed is well known in adoption circles. Agencies put girls up there for meetings with families, and to complete paperwork.

“It just seems like it is a place that mothers go when they’re trying to give up their children,” said Lisa Peters.

The adoption expert, who didn't want to be identified, also had plenty to say about the San Antonio Six Flags. “Often girls go to Six Flags to meet with the adoptive family. There’s a lot of people in and out there, and there’s also security there, and it’s a safe place for both the mother and the family to meet, often to bring the child, introduce the child to the family,” said Lisa Peters.

But despite the latest evidence, it is still possible that Elizabeth Johnson carried out her claim that she killed Gabriel and threw his body in the trash. San Antonio police plan to search the nearby Tessman Road Landfill as early as Monday, but rain in the forecast could stall the beginning of that effort.

UPDATED: Police say baby Gabriel case is now a murder investigation
Last Update: 2/08/10 Last Update: 9:07 am
<snipped>
Weather permitting, the search is planned for Monday. The announcement of a landfill search comes after detectives announced they are investigating the case as a kidnapping and homicide, allowing them to search for a body.

McQueary formed an investigative team of his own. Along with family members and the world famous private detective Jay J. Armes, McQueary has been making his rounds, passing out flyers and visiting hotels, gas stations, bus stops and fast food restaurants Johnson may have visited before Gabriel was last seen in San Antonio. Armes said he believes Gabriel was the victim of an "underground adoption," and has made a trip to Mexico to look for the child.

McQueary's efforts are all paid for by the Gabriel Johnson Trust Fund, which has raised $4,000 so far in public donations. The McQueary family's fundraiser was an attempt to raise enough money for McQueary to continue his trip, increase reward money and to donate the remainder to charity if Gabriel is found.

"I look forward to the day we can stand up here in front of the camera and announce that you all are invited to Gabriel's welcome home party," said Kelli McQueary at the fundraiser. "Logan's message and the whole family's message to Gabriel remains, hang in there Gabriel, Daddy is on his way."

That was also just two days after she posted two comments on her MySpace page stating, "Where there's a will, there's a way" and "Excited to start my new life."

Evidence Shows Elizabeth Johnson Was Not Alone While On The Run

Food Receipts Suggest She Didn't Dine Alone
Pat McReynolds
Reporter, KPHO.com

POSTED: 9:26 pm MST February 8, 2010
UPDATED: 9:59 pm MST February 8, 2010

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-- There is strong evidence Monday that at least for one night on the run, Elizabeth Johnson was not alone with her baby Gabriel. Tabor Morris is a pizza delivery driver at Papa John's. He doesn't remember all of the people he caters, but something about Elizabeth Johnson stood out.

“She was real skittish, she kept the door closed. I think she gave me a five or six dollar tip. Really nice lady. I think that’s why I pretty much remember her,” said Morris.

She may have soon slipped his mind if not for the flier posted in the restaurant. He said he knew right away that the woman in the photo was the same woman at the Homegate Hotel. He produced a receipt to CBS5 from Dec. 21 with the name Elizabeth and her room number 150.

“She pretty much handed me the money and didn’t let me look in the room. Didn’t let me look or anything like that. I could tell something was wrong. She was real skittish acting,” said Morris.
