NOT, Sergio!!! LOL
I meant I was thinking Isa and mom came in a seperate car...one would THINK they would, since dad was coach and most likely left early to GO to the game to "set up" FOR the game. This way MOM and ISA could leave to get home earlier.
I said UNLESS both mom and Isa went with them and played in the park while dad set up FOR the game. And, they ALL went in the same car.
Sorry if my post came off the way it did...LOL
I, too, went thru the cheerleading, sports thing. I'd NEVER leave, but sometimes my sis or bro came and just wanted to show support, but left early if they had something to do.

I understand what you mean, I just never saw it myself. I am younger than my brother so I cheered for a different team than his, and my dad coached the oldest kids, so together we had 3 different teams. Mine were always earlier, and sometimes the games were on different days..but we were always there through it all. Obviously I can't speak for the atmosphere where they play, but ours was great. Most of the girls I cheered with had siblings on the other teams too so we always hung out during their games and the parents too. Like I said, we LIVED at the park. It wasn't unusual for us to even be there past midnight.

I have absolutely no idea about Mexico.....but I have traveled on many cruises and children don't need a passport, but they do need birth certificates that prove they are with family (same last name) or a document from their parents that approve the traveling.

We took our kiddos to Cancun, Mexico a few years ago and we flew there. We all had to show our passports. The kids were 8 and 12 at the time.

I've spent the last 20 minutes looking high and low for any MSM source to state IF Isa had a passport. There's nada out there.

I think with recent changes, a passport is needed to cross any border-no matter what the child's age. My then 2 year old needed a passport a while back for a cruise.

just jumping off your post: but that was in the comments section of an article...

it is not known if the passport is missing (or if she even has a passport for that matter)

These rumors are coming fast and furious on this case.:maddening:

I didnt even know children that age has to have a passport.

IMO

quote=Lava;7934883]My whole childhood I was a cheerleader, my brother played football, and my dad coached. We lived at that field weekdays and weekends. It isn't unusual for games (especially baseball!) to go late, and generally leaving early isn't a good idea. The kids put a lot into those games, to leave without getting to finish is bad for their team spirit. I think in all my years there I don't remember ANYONE leaving early - especially since it isn't a school night. We were taught we needed to support our team, and that is what we did. (And Sergio is a coach, how can he leave them??)

About the braids...I bet RC wanted Isabels braids to be done for the game the next day, but knew she had to go to work. Not unusual at all to do them the night before.

Yep, my daughter is a cheerleader and we had weeknight games where we got home around 11pm. It made me so mad, because she was only 9 during last year's season. (early fall)

As to the braids/ponytails not that it really matters but I am a licensed Cosmetologist and I understood what she meant. 2 ponytails but with 4 elastics total. 2 ponytails on each side of her head, you pull the top portion of the hair on each side (with the part running down the center of the head) into a ponytail, then at the nape of the neck gather the upper ponytail into the remaining hair. Thus you get 4 ponytails total.

this is the closest picture I could find:
picture on the left shows a side view, although it has 3 instead of 2 like she said.[/QUOTE]

Again...I'm just talking about the DETAILS....IMO, way TMI for a 911 call. Again...everyone and each 911 call is diff. I don't care about the braids, and neither did the dispatch.
Had to make quite a few in my time. Finding dead family, friends OD, "wellness calls", heart attacks, etc...my bro is a 911 dispatch for NJSP...the "details" are for the LE when they get there. IMO, that dispatcher was rather polite in letting him go on like that...basically, it's not even typed in as such....but, oh well...I get your point, as well!!

Just looked it up real quick. Yes, when Flying everyone needs a passport.

However, land/sea travel is different.

http://www.dhs.gov/files/crossingborders/travelers.shtm

U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents.

And then from the link:

>Beginning June 1, 2009, U.S. and Canadian citizen children under age 16 arriving by land or sea from contiguous territory may also present an original or copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, a Naturalization Certificate, or a Canadian Citizenship Card.

I think I read that Isabel's game was going to start at 9 am. The locals have indicated the ball park isn't too far from the Celis' home either. IIRC it was less than a 20 minute drive from their home to the ball park.

It is less than 10 minutes. I recall her game beginning at 9 am, as well.

Right -- I couldn't remember where I read it, but I thought I saw it in a post here.

Tinkie (cute doggies btw) I think it was BC who was explaining the ponytails after operator asked her what she was wearing, etc...

I agree with you though about all the extra little details that came from SC.

It was a totally random post about the hairstyle, just something I actually understood as she was trying to explain it to the operator on 911. Hairstyles and makeup and stuff always gets my attention, lol!

Ok, and could the talking that the neighbor overheard at 6:00am, been going on inside the room as opposed to outside? I mean if there was nothing in the window and it was open, could the sound have carried like it sounded as if they were actually standing outside?

Sure. Son finds window screen outside and calls to Dad who comes in. They may even stick their heads out to look around, while talking about this discovery. MOO

Here are Mexican Requirments:

Since March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children – have been required to present a valid passport or passport card for travel beyond the “border zone” into the interior of Mexico.

Also:

Mexican law requires that any non-Mexican citizen under the age of 18 departing Mexico must carry notarized written permission from any parent or guardian not traveling with the child to or from Mexico. This permission must include the name of the parent, the name of the child, the name of anyone traveling with the child, and the notarized signature(s) of the absent parent(s). The State Department recommends that the permission should include travel dates, destinations, airlines and a brief summary of the circumstances surrounding the travel. The child must be carrying the original letter – not a facsimile or scanned copy – as well as proof of the parent/child relationship (usually a birth certificate or court document) – and an original custody decree, if applicable. Travelers should contact the Mexican Embassy or the nearest Mexican consulate for current information.

When I heard the reporter on the Today Show state that "SC answers were inconsistent", I thought, I never heard LE state that at all in the press conference and they didn't either.

Press conference:

Today Show

BUT, not all information about this case is coming from press conferences. Lots of these reporters are calling LE on their own. I've seen them talk about "private interviews." And this is common, to have reporters reach out to their contacts for additional info.

Just watch the reporters swarm the spokesperson at the end of a PC and then you can see how information can end up being reported but does not have to come out of a press conference.

When girls have long hair, braiding it before bed helps alleviate tangles.

I'm just now getting caught up on overnight posts, so this will probably be horribly out of sync with the posts that I've yet to read.

The shower thing bugged me from the moment that Sergio said it. I can see the brothers showering quickly before bed, but given that Isabel was a "girly-girl", I would think that she'd be more comfortable taking a bath. I know of few younger girls who shower instead of taking a bubble bath. Not to mention that, if she shampooed, her hair would have needed to be blown dry before it was braided. Becky mentioned nothing about Isabel bathing or showering, only that she braided the little girl's hair. Creepy that Dad was the one to mention the showers. :moo:

FWIW, I braid my daughter's hair WET before she goes to bed. Also, if we're in a hurry, my girly-girl is instructed to take a shower. Otherwise little miss diva would soak in luxurious bubbles all night! ;)

Can you look down when walking that route, specifically in front of that big gate to see if it's been being opened and closed on a regular basis? Maybe scrapes from the boards on concrete or scrapes in dirt or gravel or whatever's there on the ground.

The images are several years old.

Acccck! LOL....BUT, did your MOM and your 6 YEAR OLD SISTER (ONLY for example here) go early with you ALL...even DAD, who went early to set up....then, get home at 10:30 pm???? ALL of you....MOM, dad, boys, 6 YEAR OLD sister stayed till midnight???
Mom had to work early...left by 7am...sister had to get up at 8 am.

Good morning!

I haven't caught up this morning yet, so this may be out of place, but I heard this morning on the Today Show, that although the Celis were cooperating with LE, SC answers have been inconsistent. I didn't know if this has ever been stated before in MSM? Anyone else heard this before, or this morning?

PS. did anything happen overnight? (I know TPD seems to like to leak info. later in the evenings in this case).

Bump. This had been previously reported on HLN. Confirmation on Today means this is very likely accurate.

Yes...we all came and left together. When my games were early, my brother was brought along early...and we didn't leave until my dads game (always the last of the night) was over. And my sister, who was too young to be a cheerleader was there as well. My games would be around noon, my brothers around 3, and my dads around 6/7.

Ahh!! I understood RC's meaning that she had TWO braids, four "ponytails" (ie the cloth-covered rubberbands that hold ponytails). One at the top, to hold the pony tail, which was then braided, and a second, to hold the braid. Not that it matters now.

At the time, imo, she was desperately hopeful that someone would see Isa with her "abductors" and she wanted her hair description to be as specific as possible. I personally would be stopping every vehicle, searching and hopeful that I could find my child.
