If gz brought in almost 200k in 2 weeks... And the cause of a missing child seems a lot more compelling. I would guess at least as much.

Yeah, but children go missing all the time. There's a new high-profile case every week. How often do you hear about someone going on trial for murder---when you believe that he shot a "" (in their opinion) in self-defense? When you factor in all the racial issues in that case, I hate to say it, but I think people are more fired up about Zimmerman's media lynching (again, in their opinion) than about Isabel going missing.

Samantha Koenig raised 70K which paid for her dad's new truck - according to rumours.

I don't see them raising as much as Samantha

Anyone know if Isabel speaks and understands Spanish ? IMO that offer from Telemundo is something that SC and RC should go with. Really... Verdad...

I am not aware if Isabel does or not but I agree they should given the community that it attracts

Well, I suppose if people are volunteering both bodily and monetarily then they are doing so out of the goodness of their hearts and sincerely want to help.

That said, if the parents choose to continue taking donations and accepting volunteer help, while not appearing to make any effort themselves, they need to grow a pretty thick skin because they WILL be criticized, and I sure don't blame anybody who does.

She is THEIR daughter, so why are strangers doing more to find Isa than they are?

Great question! I wish I could answer that for you!! I think most people are just like we are they would do anything to bring Isabel home. Thats why it bothers me when people believe that the public doesn't deserve to know details...when the public can be a valuable asset to LE. (jmo)

Well, I for one am someone who has donated to Isabel Celis fund(just as I have in 4 other missing children's cases) so, I can now attest to whomever it was that made the remark that the family "ought to be writing thank you notes" that they in fact did write a thank you note and in it was stated that the money continues to go toward supplies for the volunteer center along with funding the ever growing reward fund for Isa to be found..

I could care less what my money is used for in helping this precious child be located(however they deem fit..money is not given with stipulations).. It's not given with stipulations in this child's case, nor has it ever with any other that I have chosen to give to.. Or will give to in the future..

I wholeheartedly support this family and not only am I praying for them and for Isa but am willing to help in any small way that I possibly can even tho I am a 1,000 miles away.. This family is hurting and broken and regardless whether you believe Sergio to be an evil child murderer(or whatever other type monster any may want to label the man as)or not it still doesn't take away from THE FACT THAT ISA HAS AN ENTIRE FAMILY THAT IS DESPERATELY HURTING AND THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY 100% VICTIMS AS WELL THAT ARE LEFT TO DEAL WITH THE DAILY ANGUISH, PAIN, and TORMENT that I personally choose to not add to but rather help and offer my love and support in any way humanly possible that I can..

To each their own..
:heartbeat:
Jess

and just as your last sentence refers to, LE.. it is LE who choose to keep a tight lid on these cases and IMO many times that absolutely is to the detriment of a case.. the proof is in the pudding that many times the LE that chooses to involve their public are many times rewarded with the public's help in solving a case..

If this public pressure tactic worked so well they would be hinting at the neighbor down the road - Westerfield, or the one across the road - Couey - or across the road again, Huckaby and Mona whats her name - before they arrested them.

Instead they don't. They have no problem with pointing to the parents though in public in all those cases. I dont think its a technique at all..except of getting the media out of their hair and knowing that the parents are probably the only ones who won't sue when its said and done and LE are wrong.

Well I agree but i think it is LE who should be giving the details. It drives me bonkers when they say no comment to something that simply can't hurt the investigation such as what time the mom left the house (notice that it was ok to put it out though in the doc dump..yes the variations lol)

It is all the fault of the Feds who investigated Richard Jewell. With the multitude of lawsuits (rightly) LE have gone way to far the other direction

Obviously keep the majority of the investigation under wraps but otherwise open up and get the help that is out there from an aware informed public.

Did you follow the Kienan Hebert case? RCMP handled that one so incredibly well, their pressers were full of information, the public was kept involved every step of the way and the end result was a returned child and a captured perp. Now I don't expect the child to be returned all the time but the captured perp comes from tips when the public is involved rather than just assuming there is nothing they can do..and to be involved they need to be interested and interest happens with information.

IIRC there was a tip called in that led to LE questioning the creepy family in the trailer opposite the lunsfords again about the cousin no one mentioned the first time.

Tips lead to arrests..that is why crime stoppers works!

ok guys im babbling. I hope i made some sense

I understood it that Isa does not fluently speak Spanish but that she does understand it being spoken to her..

I think some neighborhood freak took her-or someone from a half-way house who may have hung out at the ball-field.......and befriended her dad....

sorry, but my gloves are off
my opinion blah blah blah

That said..how does LE investigate the registered sex offenders in the vicinity anyway-I mean, to what extent..Family Watchdog website reports all recent move-ins and move-outs for specific dates.
So said, just by interviewing a rso and his whereabouts-I wonder how far LE can go with interrogation and follow-up and what kind of resources they need to follow-up-think about it people.......

Starry and Smoothy sitting in a tree ........... lol Sorry had to do it lol
Gut-take it back......I am not inclined that way......assuming Smoothest is straightest.......

and I do forgive you......I also love people who are all Gut Feeling........

I was arguing with my (police) PIO earlier today about this lol We were talking about this case and I asked where the information came from with cases solved in town and named a few - he replied investigations. We talked about what was details did investigators go with (was it something in the home that led to the perp, or a weapon found or whatever) - he said mainly tips they received from the public after I did stories .... tonight he sits with his little piggy tail between his legs LOL (Little piggy is not being nasty - this fellow and his wife are two of my closest friends and I always call him piggy - long story behind that lol)
