Okay and I keep thinking, if the desert temps get chilly at night, why was he only in a diaper? Babies usually move around alot when they sleep, kick and turn and such. So why not in sweats and a t shirt or shorts and a t shirt?

And do you know what keeps bugging me, I am a rather rough and tumble woman, I camp the wilderness and desert camp often. I only take my youngest (9 y.o.) where I feel he is safe, me and my older son do most the crazy back country stuff. But.... If I was close to home, and if a Mexican man was eyeballing my son, if I did not confront him head on, I would possibly actually pack up and leave, cause I would not be able to sleep, I would guard my kids all night. (to include the teenage boys she had with her) so why not go home after the days fun. Just IMHO....

And gila's. I'm thinking the bite would have brought screaming. IMO. There is no reptile able to drag off anything smaller than a large rat.

I don't know about Arizona but in far west texas you usually don't have to watch to much for snakes at night. At least the kind they have there (rattler's and such).

What kind of snakes are out there, anyone know?

Mohave green rattlesnakes is the absolute nastiest and there are other rattlesnakes too. Danger with the rainy season is that it flushes them out
During the heat, they are pretty 'inactive' but they do mosey about at nighttime -- (always travel with a flashlight).

I'll go back to the same old thing, are there any wells, septic tanks, etc on the property?

One thing a snake can do though is wrap itself around someone and literally choke them. However, again, no crying or screaming heard. :waitasec:

Kinda reminds me of Josh Powell who went camping with his sons in below-freezing temps in the middle of the night.

The rainy weather isn't expected to let up until next week.

They had to know the weather was going to bad (living in area, right)? If so, why would they go out there?

I saw on the news that it was still raining...on Sylar's toys.

This is so frustrating.

MOO

Mel

All that rain means lots of mosquitoes, I dont think I'd have my kid in the woods in only a diaper.

I'm grasping as well. I don't like the "water" situation and the fact he loves water however I don't know the campgrounds so I don't know how far the water is from the campsite.
From the website, it seems very close. MOO

I'm having a really hard time with the thought of an animal getting him.. The odds IMO are astronomical that there wouldn't be evidence of an attack, trail of blood or a trail where the animal dragged him.. the possibility that some animal completely picked him up, with nothing dragging, no blood trail, no screams or sounds at all?? Just not possible for me to believe.. does not happen that way.

So far, even with the past legal issues.. I can't bring myself to believe that Tina pulled a Casey Anthony just yet. It's like, the mind wants to wander that way because there are not a whole lot of possibilities based on the information we have. We all care about this baby so much and want so badly for him to be found.. it's natural to try to place blame.. but I can't allow myself to just yet.

It's really mind boggling how he could just vanish like this.

There is just no way a baby his age would be able to get out of a tent on his own without tripping over people and messing with that zipper 50x to /maybe/ get a hole big enough that he could crawl out.. and he wouldn't know to be quiet or sneak.. he'd likely be babbling something if he was awake and moving.

My heart is so heavy that we have not had any positive news on this little guy.

Another thing - his name being misspelled everywhere is really driving me crazy. It's horrible that media got it wrong and it's wrong all over everywhere. It makes me sad that if he is no longer alive we're not even honoring him properly for the short time he was on earth by getting his name right.

Sorry for babbling.. all my opinion (although i find it silly we have to say that too) I just can't get Sylar out of my mind.. don't want to honestly.. I just keep praying for good news.

Okay instead of going to Flagstaff I went to Rimrock AZ weather. Big difference, I had no clue.

July 25, 2010

12:30 PM when Sylar was last seen: 77.7 F.

No rain, average humity 50%. The high that day was around 94.7 degrees.

Why only a diaper though? Good question Portabella. Wouldn't there have been a problem with mosquito's and other bugs if they were near water? I dunno.

I was surprised at the difference in temps between the two areas. Sorry for the wrong info earlier. I should have looked up the campsite directly.

Even this summer we are getting monsoons this far north. It's wet outside and I hear thunder. I keep thinking about this little guy out there.....

See, that is what scares me the most. This little boy loves water, I don't know how long he has been at that campsite to know exactly how to get to the water but that was the 1st thing I thought of.

This campground is not in the woods. It is a high desert riparian corridor.

Never have heard of riparian corridor before. More info please? :)

What's the elevation there?

I've only lived at about 4300 to 4500 ft elevation in the desert. Not quite considered high, but high enough to make your baking and cooking wonky. :)

IIRC, they'd been there since Friday. So a couple of days. :(

I'm sure our posters have posted the water vs. the campground. If you could kindly post it again we would greatly appreciate it!
