Back to the Beginning: Where Might Kyron Be?

Sadly, I don't think he is very far...
Right now, I regretfully feel that Kyron is waiting for his own meter reader to stumble upon him..
:(

Okay....what route would that meter reader be on? What houses do they check, what roads do they drive, what ditches do they pass? Any overpasses, underpasses?

Yes, pre-911 it was somewhat easier for US citizens to cross the border into Mexico & Canada & back again. I believe the new laws require a passport for all travelers or the enhanced DL that you mentioned (if traveling by land or sea from the US to Mexico & Canada) went into effect in the past couple of years.

Years ago, I went to & from Canada at least once a year with my kids & was waved thru customs sometimes without even being required to stop @ the gate. I haven't been across the border since the new laws were implemented, so I don't know how stringent the customs agents are about checking everyone entering. I've only read about the new requirements.

Maybe some posters who have driven across or taken a boat can share their recent experiences?

I've gone in and out of Mexico quite a few times during the last few years. Two times, I think, they asked for a passport (both in Cali.) Once I showed a drivers license-non enhanced (crossing from El Paso) and no one asked for a passport. Once I showed a birth certificate and that was good enough (somewhere else in TX.)

Yes, I like to check how diligent our border patrol is. ;)

Canada I've driven into once in the last year- via NY. They asked for a passport and searched the vehicle- but we had a dog team with us. They checked the first vehicle and occupants, and waved the second through.

When LE declared this case a criminal investigation, and I began to worry & suspect that perhaps Ky was no longer alive, my first thought was that if someone had ended his life, and that person wanted to dispose of evidence, the Columbia River seemed like a likely place to do so. It has stronger currents than the Multnomah Channel, and I began to wonder if any evidence would have been quickly carried out to the Pacific Ocean.

I fear that if our little guy is no longer alive, and if he was put into the Columbia River and carried out to sea, then he may never be found. If so, this could be why his body has not been found.

I don't like to ponder that scenario. But every now & then I think about it as a possibility of what may have occurred.

I looked for my friend's missing child years ago. Quite frankly, it's even worse than looking for a needle in a haystack as you only have the haystack to go through.

I think the fact that Terri had the truck on Thursday might be of interest. Perhaps she scoped it all out that day and prepared.

I kind of agree about the river...and also agree he might never be found. But it would not be as easy to put something large into the river without being seen as into the woods, I would think. Seems like there is always action there on the rivers.

in the locals thread iirc, one of the locals said that her friend's dog got lost in a berry patch and never came out again.. and they never found the dog after searching... meaning if Kyron IS within the 15 mile radius that I tend to think he is than it is going to be truly difficult to find him.

I just keep going back to Caylee Anthony.... just out the backdoor of her home... and not TES or any search group could find her...

Were there any hindering conditions during Kyron's search???? LIke the flooding during Caylee's? Any areas that were unsearchable at the time due to weather, etc or any other conditions that affected the search? areas that should be RE SEARCHED? And of course as one poster just mentioned... the waterways... fortunately things do wash up eventually if that were the case. I wonder if LE has been studying tide patterns, etc and how they effect the surrounding waterways? With her window of time (gaps in the timeline) TM, if she did do something and dispose of Kyron, well.... he had to have been placed within 15-20 miles of last seen....

MOOOO

I thought that as well, especially after looking at the current patterns. I'm not local, but they look to be pretty swift- and with weather, ugh. And the depth is enough to really keep something in motion, even weighed.
I think however, that if that were the case he *might* have eventually washed up slightly south down the coast- there are quite a few bays/coves and sometimes (JMO) bodies and other objects do tend to get whirl-pooled into spots like that. But sometimes it takes a long time, and it's very little remains. :(

Sorry- hate to type that as well.

I just made a 'fake' reservation on Expedia for a famly of four, two adults two children from NYC to Paris.
They didn't ask for passport numbers for either adults or children, just have a disclaimer that says you must have a valid passport for international travel. :waitasec:

Perhaps it is if you make it through an airline directly- however, many people are waiting for their passports to be issued prior to travel. That's why you can use an expected date of international travel or a plane or cruise ship ticket as proof to expedite your passport issuance.

I took a cruise with two stops in Mexico a couple of years ago. I was required to submit my passport number when the reservation was made.

There's quite a bit on this in the Search thread.

IMO- there are so, so, so many times that SAR 'misses' a body...not due to bad SAR work, just due to the needle-in-the-haystack thing...that it is ALWAYS worth a 2nd, 3rd, 4th look.

BTW, ITA about if TM did something and disposed of Kyron, it's 15-20 (if not less) of last scene. Or was originally.

I agree. Unless it were a fishing boat type scenario?
They drop traps and whatnot all the time.

The possibilities are not pretty, that's for sure. :(

I am going to answer the question posed, I would use a dumpster. The fact that Landfill have not been searched for this boy is really upsetting.

thanks for all you do Oriah... I have read about all your work and my hat is off to you for what you do.

I understand about the needle in the haystack thing! I think that is why they have been back around the school so many times. (could she have tried to make it look like an accident? Like he wandered out of the school??.... just thinking out loud...)

I am very curious tho to see if any searched areas were unsearchable at the time due to weather.. and if so... if they were re-searched at a later time. I am heading to scour those threads and see if I can find anything mentioned.

btw: thank you for this thread.

Did you have to show a passport when you embarked/disembarked in Mexico? Or was it enough to have it on record with the cruise ship?

landfill has not been searched????? for real????

If you also check the SAR blogs and logs, you will see the difficulty they had in 'clearing' certain areas due to terrain, accessability, etc. I am not certain if all of those areas have been re-searched or not- please let me know what you find.

I would love to see a full scale re-search of the area, using fresh grids, fresh teams, and coming at it from a cadaver- only aspect. (Well I would hate that part, but obviously it would be necessary.)
Unfortunately, I think that is the most likely scenario.

I had to show it upon re-boarding the ship in Mexico. I don't remember if I had to show it upon arrival on the ship in the beginning -- I probably did.

I doubt I'll ever go on another cruise -- I was so bored! : )

not sure... I was actually shocked by Cherry's post (^^) that it had not

They may not have right away, since they were thinking- lost in the woods. I wonder. Off to see what I can find, because ditto on other dumpsters in the area. Gas stations, etc.
