It is sinister. It's a bunch of ambulance chasers trying to get a payout from a dead woman's estate via her murderer. And an innocent baby is now caught up in the mix with nary an advocate or GAL to be seen to help get her the hell out of there. Away from her obviously personality disordered violent mother in a Bali prison and into the arms of a loving family for good.

It's beyond outrageous how this whole thing has played out in both countries and I'm sure it will just get worse when we hear the verdict and sentence.

MOO
It's all about me.

I like how in the People magazine comments that people are mocking her, about how she has a cellphone again after the last one was taken and other things.

The people of Bali are very sensitive right now about losing tourists. The fact that beer/alcohol was almost banned and today's news of the December rape looks really bad. (How the police let the guy get away and the victim had to have a viginity test.)

This case does not affect tourism in the least. Nor is it even mentioned much in Bali or any other Indonesian media. The couple of English speaking media sources out of Bali and Jakarta, that occasionally post about it, have received no comments from the people in the country and very few from people outside the country. I doubt anyone cares about nor has even heard about HM and TS in Indonesia other than some Bali locals. And they know all about the corruption in their courts and with their police so they don't care about a couple of American rich brats and their murdered socialite American mother either. The only interest they have in HM is what they can sell her with all the cash she's probably flogging.

MOO

I guess I've been hearing outside chatter. Mainly that one should take their money elsewhere (companies/investments) and that Indonesia was going after Middle East interests. Beyond the noticeable out migration of westerns, the Australians and other commonwealth nations sound very serious about boycotts. I think the people of Bali are nervous.

You have to listen to this (my suggestion only)

Michael Elkin and Vanessa Favia are representing Heather Mack and Baby Stella in the Indonesian mother killing case.

Radio Interview with Elkin and Favia
20 04 2015
http://wgnradio.com/2015/04/20/michael-elkin-and-vanessa-favia/

Favia is not Court Appointed - she is hired by Heather Mack.
Favia is saying a separate trust from the Trust of HM's is now making the money available to Stella.
There is also the confirmation by Favia that payments will be made to get Stella her own room (*cough* Heather 's own room)
The ploy for HM to get the money - Elkin remarks and defends HM - *bucket please* - Favia says that HM's "decision to disclaim a third of her trust is one of the most selfless and mature decisions made" by HM ..
There has to be a seperate Executor to the Trusr for Stella - I wonder whose legal firm that will come from...
Favia also mentions - 'when the verdict is made public" - which tells me that there is a known number being bandied around.
Elkin explains the process after the sentence comes down.

This interview also mentions the PR dynamics - her treatment in Bali - who is taking the baby when the time comes -
--------------------

Favia says that HM's "decision to disclaim a third of her trust is one of the most selfless and mature decisions made" by HM ...
Are you kidding? HM would have known nothing of what to do without direction from Lawyers - so who's suggestion was it to do this ahead of time and to pass it over to Stella? This is what the delays have been about - nothing to do with illness or anything else - just get the money transferred to Stella for HM and her lawyers.
Favia is sounding like a really bad campaign manager - Stella maybe beautiful - but Favia's gush over her is sickening - it doesnt sound like concern for the baby - just bubbly delight that she will now get paid.

This is tough to listen too. She's been treated well and with respect? What happened to her early claims?

So does this mean that it's a done deal? How did she sign this disclaimer?

This whole thing is just so disgusting.

My bold 1, 2, & 3...
Absolutely!

NEWS report VIDEO at LINK:
8/18/14: A Chicago teen being held in an Indonesian jail on charges she and her boyfriend killed her mother and then stuffed the fresh body into a suitcase claims she's been sexually assaulted at least three times in the five days she's been in police custody. Chris Coffey reports. (Published Monday, Aug 18, 2014)

and here is Elkin on the video (18th Aug 2014) bowing to Heather Macks lies and making them a public statement about HM's claims of sexual abuse that HM suffered when she was first taken into custody and claims of depredation of food and water. He even thought she was off her face on something and questioned HM about it.

My bold 2...
I think this now explains all the publicity and the radio interviews.

My insomnia is in overdrive! Surely there is some news...

ETA: The urgency and timing of Elkin and Favia's recent moves make me wonder if they aren't aware of some info about the sentence that prompted this latest filing. Wonder if they are expecting a sentence that will trigger the slayer's statute not only to the estate and possibly cut Stella off and also lend itself to applicability to the trust. Other states have done it. Pure speculation on my part but I believe this case will set precedent one way or another.

I do not wish of be critical of any family members but I too would agree that strong earlier statements would have had far more impact.

Not long to go ..... MSM is in overdrive. (Well, not really overdrive, but overdrive for this particular no-news case.)

Heather Mack is all smiles as she arrives at Bali court to find out whether she'll be handed full 15 years for mother's gruesome murder

Accompanied by her boyfriend, 21-year-old Tommy Schaefer, Miss Mack, 19, showed no nervousness about the fate which awaited her in the Denpasar District Court.

In fact, she was more concerned about the way she looked in photographs of her that had been published the previous week.

‘Why did you take photos of me yawning?’ she asked photographers from her holding cell at the court as Tommy Schaefer looked on from his cell across the courtyard.

 This makes me nervous - what do you think? Lesser sentence?

15 and 18 yrs ?? lol unbelievable .. why not just send them to another resort for vacation .. so much for that place being tough on crime .. why the heck would the prosecution recommend that soft as ice cream sentence for such a heinous crime .. :smacks forehead:

Froot loop, is what I think.

I think you're right.
I also think the media are making sure they pick the worst possible photos now on purpose -
like this one...

Hopefully a due and proper sentence will wipe the smile from her face.
Somehow though, I think the only thing she is concerned about is the little pink money bag she is carrying.

I don't know if anyone heard them when they read Schapelle's verdict. They went on and on and on, speaking in very rapid Indonesian. Then the translator had to tell Schapelle a bit of what was said here and there, so they would pause. It wasn't a quick thing.
