It was the week of (U. S.) Thanksgiving when I wrote that.

Here's the latest information I could find on the Bibbs trial. Interesting reading. I'm not sure if he can still avoid a trial by asking for a plea deal.

From the link:

For the reasons stated above, the court again denies Defendant's motion to dismiss the indictment [41] and also denies Defendant's motion for a bill of particulars [65]. January 30, 2017 trial date stands. Date: November 16, 2016

I can't find anything recent about HM or TS. If HM's still active on social media, she must be using a new ID.

Thanks for that ajaylee. So now we know that Bibb's trial is expected to proceed on Jan 30, 2017.

And while both TS and HM are not posting pictures to their IG accounts, they are both still using them to like and follow other people. Pretty sure that HM in particular was told by her lawyers to keep a low profile on social media since I still believe that something is in the works to try to get her out of the prison before Stella turns 2. I'm sure she's still quite active on Whatsapp and other more private messaging apps.

Great find, Kamille!

I notice in one post that a friend is coming to town next year and wants to get together to shoot hoops. Bibbs tells him it might be OK if the friend gets to Chicago by March, so that must be the sentencing time frame.

Looks like Bibbs had a scheduled 'change of plea hearing' at 11 this morning with Judge Pallmeyer.

Bibbs, Schaefer’s cousin, is expected to plead guilty Tuesday morning in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer, court records show. It is not clear to what crime he will plead guilty. Bibbs is charged with conspiracy to kill a person in a foreign country, conspiracy to commit foreign murder of a U.S. national and solicitation of a crime of violence.

The change-of-plea hearing comes seven weeks before what might have been a revealing trial set for Jan. 30 in Chicago.

It's going to be interesting to see what he gets.

He's been in front of Judge Pallmeyer. One of her fellow judges is Thomas Durkin, the same guy whose name emerged shortly after TS was arrested. He was initially identified as TS's lawyer, made at least one statement on his behalf, but as he pointed out, he wasn't authorized to practice law in Indonesia, he was just helping the family out.

I wonder if he's helping the family out with this, too. I might be reading too much into RB's FB posts, but I get the impression he expects to do at least some time.

Trapped by his texts, man pleads guilty in Heather Mack case

As he came clean Tuesday about his role in the sensational 2014 murder of Sheila von Wiese-Mack, Bibbs told a federal judge he expected someone other than Tommy Schaefer would ultimately end the woman’s life. Bibbs thought it would be her own daughter, Heather Mack, who allegedly spent months plotting her mother’s demise.

[...]

The judge on Tuesday urged Bibbs, dressed in a white shirt and blue pants, to explain what happened. He described a “situation” in 2014 with Mack, who was pregnant but being encouraged by her mother to “kill the kid” while complaining about the race of the father, Schaefer.

Looks like RB decided to throw some lies in to his confession as well. :notgood:

Are the prisons too full to take RB now? Why is he getting another 3 months to "live like it's golden"? He's already had over 2 years. :maddening:

I couldn't read the article Kamille, but I agree that sounds like RB has parroted what HM had to say about her mother trying to stop her having the baby - but as we know, HM is a liar and a manipulator, and for HM to use an excuse like that to 'friends' would only be to benefit HM to try and get enough sympathy on her side to convince someone (RB) that her plan to kill her own mother had grounds, merit and justification..
Yet HM had already been down that path with an abortion - if I remember rightly.
And, the race card doesn't fly with anyone.
For all of them, it was all about the money.
Leeches.

In regard to RB, I would have liked to have seen some questioning happen in a court of law - because I am sure it would expose so much more detail to the story of what really went on and would have incriminated HM a little further in all this.

My main takeaway is that if TS or HM are ever tried in the US, RB's testimony will suggest that HM was the main culprit, not TS.

That's the opposite of what went down in Indonesia, where TS took the rap and HM claimed to just be a horrified bystander. It also looks like his story is different from what TS and HM alleged about the pregnancy: he seems to acknowledge that SWM knew about the pregnancy before Bali.

I think now that they have him convicted and guilty of this, those two WILL be prosecuted again if they ever come back to the states. Which means the slayer statute can be enforced and NO MONEY for Miss HM. At least that's what i'm thinking.

Not sure if they CAN be prosecuted for anything in the U.S. if they've both gone to trial for the murder and been convicted in another country.

Can they still be charged with the conspiracy portion of the crime if they return to the U.S.? :waitasec:

I am not sure, but i don't think double jeopardy counts with the Bali court. I thought they were holding off on the Slayer statute ruling to see what happened with Bibbs.... but i'm not a lawyer, i just play one on WS. :-)

I don't think RB plead guilty without getting something in return. We don't know everything he provided. I don't see how HM can get her hands on SWM money. Now, to get that baby Stella away from her so she no longer benefits.!

BTW-look at all the people HM has ruined. SWM obviously, TS, RB, Stella. And those are the only ones we know about. I bet TS and RB cringe every time the hear the name "Heather Mack". And they will be connected to that name for the rest of their lives.

One other thing: it was mentioned that RB thought he would get a piece of $11m that HM thought she would get. Then, the estate was only worth $1.5m. This case has been ongoing for 2 1/2 years. Wonder how much of that $1.5m is left?

RB was facing a possible life sentence, without parole, if convicted on the 3 counts he was charged with. The deal he made was to plead guilty to one count of conspiracy and be guaranteed no more than a 20 year sentence, which will probably actually be less, plus more time off for good behaviour. He may end up doing less time than either HM or TS are doing in Indonesia. We'll have to wait until March 26, 2017 to find out what he gets.

Now apparently, if the judge wants to sentence him to more than 20 years, he can remove his guilty plea and take his chances going to trial by jury if he chooses. I doubt that will happen and the judge will likely stay within the parameters of the plea deal regarding sentencing.
