Bar Complaint Against Former Lawyer Picazio Filed By Crystal Sheffiel

Hi guys! I just finished reading the document dump. Whoa. Since it's fresh in my mind, I wanted to respond to one issue in this post. With regard to the pictures of Haleigh's black eye, etc., Kim said in her papers that she was asked by Marie to give a lot of info to the media to hurt Ron's rep. Kim said she did not feel comfortable complying with Marie's every request. Further, Kim said that it was AFTER she showed the abuse photos that she became aware that the DCFS already had investigated this, and cleared Ron. The clients I guess FORGOT to tell her this pretty important fact. She had egg on her face, she implied. At least that's what I got out of the documents.

If an attorney isn't given truthful info by her clients, the lawyer can't represent them well. I'd sure hate to have gone on Nancy Grace and been chewed up like that because of something my client was hiding from me. I'd blame the lawyer for not doing her homework on this one, but these DCFS complaints are highly confidential. NO ONE can get copies of them. I remember trying to get one for my ex husband, but it was not allowed.

Good post, Shawdy. I agree with your points. And yes, it is nearly impossible for the public to get copies of child welfare investigations. But, as an attorney, Kim is an officer of the court and could have at least learned whether or not an investigation was conducted on the suspected abuse even if she could never have information on the investigation itself.
She was amiss in not knowing more about her client.

What makes me angry about this whole thing is that there was an effort to make Ron and his family look like horrible people. It was planned to post lies about them all the while knowing what Crystal was doing and what she had done.

I am not against Crystal at all even after all of this has come out. I think her mother has way too much influence on her. I said that from the very start of this case. IMO Crystal is and has been looking for acceptance from mommy dearest for a very long time. Now it's time for her to put on her big girl panties and make this right. Make this about Haleigh as it should have been from the start. IMO.

I don't believe that Ron is an angel, by any means...he has made mistakes in life. But this campaign was meant to make him look badder than bad, and it unfortunately colored the judgement of many people. At least the truth has finally come out.

This significance of this new information to this case is not really what it reveals about Crystal. It is significant because it reveals that there was concerted lying and attempts at manipulation on the part of Haleigh's maternal family. This raises the question of what else has this side of the family might have lied about concerning possible involvement with this crime. To me, this is the real significance. It makes them look suspect on all fronts.

Well this is new for me to be defending Kim but this is what happened. Pirate/Marie/Crystal filed a bar complaint on Kim which is public in the state of Florida. One of their complaints was that Kim would not file for a change in custody for Junior. According to the bar, a defense for this would be to show that the filing would be frivolous and a waste of the court's time which attorneys are not supposed to do.

In order to show that, she had to put in her response that she could not file for a change of custody due to those things she knew about Crystal because the case would not succeed. She asked that her response be kept confidential but the Florida Bar did not agree. We only know these things now because of the bar complaint, not because of any posts made by or for Kim here.

I'm not defending anyone, but even if the black eye had already been investigated wouldn't an aggressive custody attorney use it anyway to try and at least suggest that maybe the bruise was possibly more than a playground accident? I'd think they would over dramatize anything they could come up with in order to try and win custody.

Yes, I think that you're right about a lawyer overdramatizing something to get the most mileage out of a situation. But from what I can tell, Kim is pretty smart and I don't think she would purposely do something that could later easily be seen as a deliberate misrepresentation. She would know that it would only backfire on her and hurt her reputation.

KP is guilty of not doing her homework, CS is guilty of letting Mommy Dearest manipulate her. Ron is no angel (and he has his own Mommy Dearest if you please) and MISTY was the one at the trailor when Haleigh was abducted.

Nobody has been charged.

I'll admit that my first gut instinct when I first heard about the Cummings case was, "Oh, my God! The Mom kidnapped her, didn't she." But the more I read and watched the news and read on her I changed my mind.

I really don't think this "feud" between the Griffiths/Sheffields/KP really has anything to do with who took Haleigh.

They're liars. The Cummings/Croslins are liars too. The question is how to sort out the lies from the truth.

If I had only one suggestion to make to CS and to RC it would be that they BOTH receive some mental health counceling ASAP. They both have a plethora of issues they need to sort through so they can be of help in finding their daughter.

...and I truly doubt that KP's letter to the board was 100% truthful as well. Did she even mention that she had a previous relationship with Cobra?

I'd sure like to know what it is that KP was supposed to do. She outlined a million things that she says she put onto Crystal to do (like filing charges against "a PI" who revealed confidential information......isn't that what Crystal had an attorney for? To file charges like that? And wasn't it her attorney who in fact revealed that confidential information to the indiscreet PI? Wait, lemme read that again...........yes, yes it was.

I have to be truthful and unbiased. I feel that there is one thing that Ronald was dishonest about and that is when he was confronted by Geraldo Rivera about the drug allegations. I felt, what Ronald could have done, instead of denying he had a history of drug use or drug charges, was simply to have stood his ground and refused to comment at all over the garbage that Geraldo was throwing in his face. Because anyone with eyes could pull up his record and see what the history was. He didn't owe anyone an explanation of the charges that were over 2 years old, especially when the accusations were launched at him in the manner that they were. Law Enforcement knew very well about Ronalds past criminal history and I believe that they would have known better than the public or Geraldo whether or not either parents history was related to their childs disappearance.

Aside from that the only other thing that Ronald himself has done or said that I questioned was the wedding. I personally never believed Ronald when he said he was marrying Misty because he loved her, I saw right through that. But, you know I am willing to see this thing to the end before I question too much why he married her. I hope it is because he believed that Misty was lying about something and he really didn't want her to disappear, it seems like that was a fairly reasonable conclusion to jump to because Misty is in Tennessee now and the others in her family left Satsuma as well. Let's see two went far north, others tried to go to Tenn, if they would have cleaned up their acts they wouldn't have had to be brought back to Satsuma. Thank goodness they brought them back though.

Last thing I am going to mention is Teresa's initial support of Misty. I could tell by watching Misty on TV that she was far from a good role model. And I don't even blame Misty for that believe it or not. Misty is what happens when a parent lets their child quit school after the 6th grade, Misty is a product of her mother and father's abuse and neglect. brutal yes, but it is my opinion and we all have one. Anyway, Teresa didn't have to speak of Misty the way she did, I think the reason behind her statements is more understandeable now after reading all the information that came out yesterday. I believe Teresa knew very well that Marie was going to use the abduction of a child to make Ronald look like a bad parent, I say Marie because in my opinion Marie worked Crystal like a puppet on a string. Was she right to say the things she did? I can't judge because I have never been protecting a child or a grandchild after an abduction. I have neve been witness to or involved in the situations that every one of these people are still living in. It makes me thank God for all my blessings and gifts.

I have heard Geraldo asked Ron if he was an informant, I did not know he asked if Ron had FORMER drug usage and arrests. I will look for the video and watch for myself, it's probably on youtube.

BBM Yes atherella...we have been told SO MANY lies..on both sides of the equation...why some that have told lies may be online even now. Righteous indignation is only for the righteous. SO many people are unrighteous and should not judge before they clean out the logs in their own eyes.

I am in no way counting or comparing lies by any means. Just being honest about my perception is all. Curve, you never watched the GR sneak attack?....I don't watch him either but I had to go ahead and watch the interview in order to be objective. You should watch it. I have plenty of comments about what GR did but I don't want to drift too far off topic of the thread. I appreciate your opinion on the wedding too.

Exactly. She knew it would be public, she did not try and protect her, that's a crock. She put it in the letter to try and make some folks think she's a good guy. Then she again tried to make herself look good in the interview by saying she wouldn't disclose the info as it would hurt Crystal, but tells TJ he can get it.

I wouldn't want a lawyer like that, no way. Just like when that side of the family gave/sold those pictures to Geraldo before Kim ever came on the scene and he went on and on about possible abuse photos but at the very end said something about it being might be a playground incident.

I am not a Kim fan, at all, but I believe she got snookered.

Teresa said that her BF funded Misty's trip to Orlando. She lost a lot of credibility for me when she said that. She could have just said she didn't want to answer that question or something, but she boldly lied instead.

There is a youtube video somewhere on WS that uses only RC and TN's own statements from their mouths to show how many different lies they have told. I do not have time to find it for you right now...but it is here. I believe Ronald has told a minimum of three different stories about where his daughter slept that night. That is a HUGE lie.
