So MS had his 7086 phone on and pinging when he went to TB's house on the evening of the 6th. It shut off around 9:20pm. At 7:46am on May 7th, the Ipad sends a message to MM's 2790 phone asking "What's wrong with your phone?" and "Why can't I call you?". MS does not use the 7086 phone on Tuesday May 7th when he's at the farm around 11:30pm at night. He uses MM's 2790 phone and receives texts from an unknown number which I assume is MS using another burner phone or someone else's phone? So what happened to the 7086 phone from May 6th at 9:20pm until he starts using it again on May 9th when he was back to using it for the day, including texts between him and the 2790 MM's phone again? His lawyer mentioned something about a battery. I believe we also heard a flurry of texts came in on the morning of May 7th, either when it was turned on or plugged in? There is no info for MM or MS phones on May 8th.

So was MS home by 7:46am on May 7th with a dead phone trying to get a hold of MS and used the Ipad? :waitasec:

Given nobody's life was potentially hanging in the balance when Smich's bedroom was search (unlike when LE found the truck in the trailer), should an officer even touched the ipad on scene? Should it not have been marked and bagged so forensics could do the work on it in a controlled environment? Is that not contamination of evidence?

I'm surprised MS's lawyer didn't object to that evidence being allowed.

They had a warrant to search his bedroom for relevant evidence. That's the difference.

Not that I'm aware of. Susan Clairmont hat hinzugefügt,

@susanclairmont has Smich or Millards family members been present in court at all? Your coverage is second to none.

Wow...as an Ipad owner I can say that based on the picture of the screen that was put into evidence, those are not incoming messages. And I would trust Adam Carter's interpretation over Adrian Humphrey's any day. These reporters really have to pay attention to the evidence they are hearing before writing up these reports. Too much time with twitter, and other things to actually listen carefully and comprehend what they are hearing IMO. SMH

Very very true, so easily little typos and errors can be made from the fast paced testimony happening. In my mind I can see MS telling MM not to call, my phones off, not working etc as he was doing whatever dirty deeds he was up to at the time. Then MM is like why...why can't i call you, what is the problem. KWIM

You can, but ATMs don't dispense 100s.

They do at casinos. :D They even go out of their way to tell you, "This machine dispenses only $100's" If you're going to lose your shirt at the casino, might as well do it in big chunks to save time.

Im sure they probably had gloves on when they preformed the search. Such a big case, I think LE would be ever so careful to not compromise anything. As well as, he only turned it on, swiped lock screen and only read what was in front of him. He didn't scroll thru all the messages.

Agreed. We can thank the Tori Stafford trial for the way the police are going about the seizure and analysis of the technology. So much critical evidence wasn't admissible in poor Tori's case because of the way police acquired the info. Lessons learned... MOO
