I think he just simply forgot. DM is not good with details. This would be one of those details that he missed.

Or like the profiler suggest, overconfident, inexperienced, thinks he's above the law and won't get caught and likes the thrill of the risk.

As we hear of SB crying, and all of us still trying to understand why DM and MS wouldn't just steal the truck, it seems like a pertinent time to recall the OPP profiler comments from 2013... BBM

Re criminal profiler's comment "it is over confidence and inexperience". Or is it "over confidence and experience" because they have done it so many times and just got sloppy. I remember reading verbatim a statement that serial killer, BC pig farmer, Robert Picton made with regard to his serial killing rampage and what got him caught. He said this to a police officer who was posing as his prison cell mate to try to get more info. out of Picton. Picton responded "I got sloppy". Chilling to think about. A forensic psychiatrist addressed that even psychopathic serial killers can get periods of time where they experience bouts of mental disorganization to the point that they actually do "get sloppy". It could be that DM and MS are being very much underestimated. Maybe the drugs they were doing caused their psychopathalogy to get disorganized and they both "got sloppy".

Don't think he was stealing cars was he? Though he just wanted to rip off his cheap father in law by paying those guys to kidnap his wife after the father in law cut him out of his own real estate deal.

Dude was working for his father-in-law managing the dealership. He was taking cars off the back lot. When he was asked to do a lot inventory he was delaying, and then he would send via fax purposely blurred out VIN numbers and asked to re-fax. It was ridiculous. Dude was a doofuth who was bored and decided to steal from the car lot and when things started to unravel....re the inventory that wasn't adding up....he extended himself and started branching out. I believe that he arranged a kidnapping of his wife so he could use the ransom money to reimburse his inventory imbalances that the car theft problem off the lot created for him. In essence his father-inlaw would pay out the ransom money and he would be able to use this money to pay back the cars he stole from the lot in the first place. I think he was selling them on the side and pocketing the money. It was a long time ago that I saw this movie so this is the best I can do.

Cripes!!!!! They need to rethink their branding then.

Yes they do! My son owns a 'RED' digital camera, and refuses to upgrade to the next feature level. They stamp "WEAPON" on it, and he travels to many countries as a videographer.

Absolutely most would not feel comfortable dumping fluffy into that thing. But I wonder if farmers who raise cattle for example for beef may have use for this kind of thing. Animals must die by accident or old age maybe? So maybe this is why it would not be weird to purchase something like this if you owned a farm. But to write eliminator on it? DM took the bother to have this painted on it didn't he? Not something I think the manufacturer would stamp on it.

I wondered about that myself but putting the name 'The Eliminator' on the incinerator was done by the manufacturer.

I have mentioned this before, and it seems like a time to bring it back up.

How was this scoping mission to work from beginning to end?

1) They drive to Tim's and park the Yukon in a lane near his place
2) They walk to Tim's and tell him they were dropped off by a friend who went to Timmies.
3) They test drive and look for tracking devices and if the truck is what DM wants.
4) They drive back to Tim's
5) They tell him they will get back to him and walk back to the Yukon???

Pretty sure that would raise flags if his friend was not there to pick them up after the test drive.

I'm not quite there, but just about.

I was one of the few on here who was still holding out that MS may not have known of the plan to kill.

I can officially say that doubt is now gone in my mind. Today it has been shown that he knew, IMO.

Thinking about the charges against the accused, I went to Duhaimes Law online to clarify the term "accomplice" and determine 'what happens when 2 persons conspire to commit a criminal act together'.
Some posters on WS have discussed the possibility of MS getting a reduced sentence even possibly accessory after the fact. Given the two following quotes from Duhaimes Law I wonder how that might be possible.
I acknowledge that MS has made huge strides in his own rehabilitation....GED, improved vocabulary, appearance and behaviour and for his own sake, I would wish that he would continue to improve himself personally. 'But' do I think his positive changes will earn him a reduced sentence or change of sentence....if I understand the legal definitions below and have correctly interpreted Leitch's cross examination---well, the 'But' pretty much says it all. IMO

accomplice--
[Quote from Duhaimes Law....."In MacDonald v The King, Justice Tashereau of the Supreme Court of Canada went on a legal definition rampage in adopting the words of the trial judge in regards to accomplice:
"The learned trial Judge also explained to the jury what was an accomplice, its legal meaning, and gave various definitions. He said ... an accomplice is one who knowingly and in a common intent with the principal offender, unites in the completion of a crime.
"Or, to determine if a witness is an accomplice, ask this question: Could the witness have been indicted under the wide provisions of the Criminal Code for the offence for whch the person has been convicted or is being tried?
"And other definition: An accomplice is a party to the crime himself, who assists in or is a partner of the crime.
"One more: Every person who knowingly, deliberately co-operates with or assists or even encourages another in the completion of a crime is an accomplice." Quote]

one who conspires with
[ Quote from Duhaimes Law......"(E)very one who conspires with any one to commit an indictable offence ... is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to the same punishment as that to which an accused who is guilty of that offence would, on conviction, be liable." Quote]

I don't see much reason for anyone to trust MS testimony in any way at this point. He has no answers to any questions except the ones that say he wasn't there. You can't just forget everything else that happened that week and expect me to believe your precise story of the night of the murder.

I wondered about that myself but putting the name 'The Eliminator' on the incinerator was done by the manufacturer.

Not bad enough that the name is bigger than all outdoors.....what about the colour ???
I understand that SS did the trailer for it---did you notice the matching red mechansim on the securing chains? (imagine finger down the throat imoji uun...uun here)

Could it be that maybe we just wanted to believe he was innocent? I know I did and then he came out stating he was changing his life around, he wanted to tell the truth and probably the thing that made me want to believe him - his hatred for Millard and calling him a lunatic. I really wanted to believe it. But come on, looking at it clearly and rationally (not necessarily what I can definitely prove but common sense) they did it - they did it together full knowing what they were doing. It's sad and pathetic. MS may have changed but that change took place after the fact and that does not count. Who knows maybe he didn't change at all maybe he just wants us to believe he did along with the ******** he spewing.

One thing that I've always wondered about is why DM never removed the text THE ELIMINATOR, or painted over it?

Who drives around with such a contraption in tow, with the words THE ELIMINATOR in bold red splattered on the side? Super weird I think. It even looks like some kind of killing machine. The lack of discretion and the lack of subtlety are just mind-boggling.

I'm trying to picture DM and MS pulling up to a red light with their vile machine in tow, on their way to the hangar, and what other drivers must have been thinking when they pulled up beside/behind them?

Was it just a case of being super emboldened after murdering his father and LB and believing he had gotten away with it? What an award winning dummy.

I think it is the ever positive nature of human beings to want to look for the best in others....the light at the end of the tunnel....the positive change where it was so desperately needed. I actually applaud what he has accomplished for himself in the 3 years that he has been incarcerated. I sincerely hope that he goes on to do the college courses he was hoping to do. How deep are the roots of the exterior changes....who knows??? Truly, I think that only time will tell the full truth---and in the meantime, I would prefer that he remain in custody and continue to grow and improve before he released to his own recognisance.
I don't believe he is entirely innocent....nor do I think you should beat yourself up having hoped for the best for him....remember,the ever hopefilled human heart .

I tend to think the evidence actually supports that MS's phone died. It was later in the evening, which makes it plausible, and he tried to message MM much later from the hangar using the iPad.

Ah, that explains why he didn't call 911. (:))
