I thought CN opted for trial by Judge only? Seems like a miscue, though not very relevant to DM and MS trial... carry on...

Good call on her part. Like Jian, she isn't too popular with the peers either.

"Do you wait for a madman to come back? ... The answer is no." #TImBosma #Bosma

Only in American horror movies do you wait for them to come back, or investigate that weird noise in the house alone. But not in real life.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 35s36 seconds ago
Photo of Eliminator on screen. Putting #TImBosma in there was a two-man job, Leitch says.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 29s30 seconds ago
Seeing photo of Eliminator. "Putting Tim Bosma in the Eliminator was a 2 man job," says Leitch.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 17s18 seconds ago
"No blood was found on either of the platforms on the Eliminator."

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 37s37 seconds ago
"Putting Tim Bosma in the Eliminator was a two-man job," Smich says, showing a picture of the Eliminator. #TimBosma #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 26s26 seconds ago
Bosma's blood was only found on the lip of the burn chamber, but he was bleeding heavily. #TimBosma #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 19s19 seconds ago
It required the strength of two people, Leitch says. #TimBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 37s37 seconds ago
Leitch says if one person was trying to put Bosma in, there would be blood on platforms.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 37s37 seconds ago
Leitch says if one person was trying to put Bosma in, there would be blood on platforms.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 28s28 seconds ago
Leitch says putting #Bosma's body in the incinerator was a two man job. There was no blood on platforms, only on the lip of the opening.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 38s39 seconds ago
That's because they put the body in together, Leitch says. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 19s19 seconds ago
Smich also said he saw Millard's text to his employees saying not to come to work on May 7, Leitch says this also doesn't make sense#Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 30s31 seconds ago
Millard let Smich use his phone to try contact Marlena early on morning of May 7. If Millard was forcing Smich to help, why give him phone?

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 14s15 seconds ago
Smich used Millard's phone that morning. Millard thought that phone was safe, Leitch argues. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 5s6 seconds ago
Millard likely didn't know police could put burner phone and his phone together, says Crown.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 29s29 seconds ago
Why did Smich use Millard's phone that night? Millard thought his phone was safe because he used burner phone to arrange test drives

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 38s39 seconds ago
Leitch says Smich claims he "played along" with Millard after the murder, afraid. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 24s25 seconds ago
Smich claims "he played along with Dellen Millard," says Crown.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 14s15 seconds ago
"Walking some delicate balance, he says, so DM would not suspect he was going to authorities." Afraid of "five minute lunatic Dell."

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews now6 seconds ago
Smich says he played along with Millard, walking a delicate balance so Millard wouldn't think he'd call police. Leitch says that's a lie

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 30s31 seconds ago
Leitch says they hung out a lot in the 3.5 days before Millard was arrested. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 22s22 seconds ago
"Sound like a relationship you're trying to avoid? I don't think so," Leitch says. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 5s5 seconds ago
In the hours where they were apart, they were in contact by phone 68 times. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 15s15 seconds ago
Crown pointing out all the hours Smich and Millard spent together after murder. And all the contacts they had — 68 times in 3.5 days.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 12s12 seconds ago
"Does that jive with what Smich told you about his fear and avoidance? No," Leitch says. Shows "their partnership." #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 3s3 seconds ago
Smich said he was afraid of Millard, and walking a "delicate balance" after the murder, Leitch says. #TimBosma #bosma

I believe she did. She never asks questions. Mission Digestion? WTK is that?? She seems to understand that Bosma's truck is being digested and will soon be a better version of Dell's truck. Millard could trust her, we've seen how much. Why wouldn't she know?
CN knew exactly what Mission Digestion meant- IMHO, she knew it meant that DM was waiting for the incinerator to finish up. MOO

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont now6 seconds ago
Texts about getting sleep, meeting up...include LOLs...Smich asks Dell to "chill" with him...

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 28s28 seconds ago
Leitch says Millard and Smich were in contact 68 times in 3 and a half days "Does that jive with what Smich told you about his fear?" #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s30 seconds ago
Leitch reads their exchanges, says this isn't how you communicate with a "lunatic." #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 19s19 seconds ago
You want to chill for a bit today? Is that what you say to a lunatic you fear? I don't think so, Leitch was

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 13s13 seconds ago
Leitch now reading out a bunch of their casual texts. "This is their team. The Millard and Smich team." #TimBosma #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 10s10 seconds ago
"This is a team. Dellen the felon and Say10," Leitch says. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 33s34 seconds ago
"This is the team, the Millard/Smich team. Dellen the Fellon and Say10," says Crown.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 26s27 seconds ago
Dellen the Felon and Say10. The team, Leitch says.

I agree this is a strong possibility. But what the heck does Ima round the block mean ... Sorry, their lingo confuses me at times.

If MS was at his mom's house at the time, it could easily have meant "I'm around the back". I live down the street from the house and would often see a group of guys hanging out on the front porch and the backyard.

IMO

EDIT: Remembered that they met at the Speers Rd apartment. So scratch that!

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 13s14 seconds ago
Leitch says the most unbelievable part of Smich's testimony was his destruction of the evidence (gun) just surprisingly thrust in his lap.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 28s29 seconds ago
Smich claimed he thought this was Millard trying to set him up. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 20s21 seconds ago
Smich said he expected to find drugs in the toolbox, but found a gun. He thought he was being set up. Leitch says that's a lie. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 10s11 seconds ago
Most unbelievable is M thrusting gun at S in toolbox, much to Smich's surprise. Crown says they "jointly planned the destruction" of gun.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 3s4 seconds ago
Smich says he was surprised to get gun & thought Millard was setting him up. Doesn't make sense, says Leitch.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 31s31 seconds ago
Leitch says they discussed what to do with that gun just before Millard's arrest. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 8s9 seconds ago
Smich claims he buried it. Leitch says there's no doubt he put the gun beyond the reach of the police. But not that he buried it. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 23s24 seconds ago
They planned to get rid of the gun together, Leitch says. Smich put the gun out of reach of police, that we know

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 48s49 seconds ago
Smich "got greedy" and wanted to sell gun.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 40s41 seconds ago
"There is no doubt he put the gun beyond the reach of police, but there is a lot of doubt that he buried it somewhere in Oakville."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 42s43 seconds ago
Leitch says Smich would've kept that toolbox where he could find it "in case the frame up by Dellen Millard materialized." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 20s21 seconds ago
He says he would've kept it as "insurance." Smich never said he touched it. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 34s35 seconds ago
Leitch says if Smich's story about a fear of being framed was true, he wouldn't have buried the gun. #TimBosma #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 33s34 seconds ago
The gun would have been a powerful bargaining chip if he was being framed, Leitch says. Smich never admitted touching gun.

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 43s43 seconds ago
"That gun would have been a powerful bargaining chip, perhaps with Millard's fingerprints or DNA on it." #TimBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 40s40 seconds ago
If Smich thought he was being framed by Millard, gun would have been his "insurance policy" because...

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 56s56 seconds ago
He says Smich's bike ride story to burial is "ridiculous." #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 31s31 seconds ago
Leitch says Smich's story about a lengthy bike ride to bury the gun in an unknown forest "defies belief." #TImBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 57s57 seconds ago
...according to Smich story, only Millard prints on gun. Crown says "that gun is long gone and we will never know what happened to it."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Leitch says Smich got rid of the gun because it implicated him and Dellen Millard. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 52s52 seconds ago
"He got rid of the gun because it implicated him and Dellen Millard." #TimBosma #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 42s42 seconds ago
Smich story about biking somewhere to bury the gun doesn't hold water, says Leitch.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 53s54 seconds ago
Otherwise he would've held onto it--because in his version, it would've implicated Millard and not him. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 46s47 seconds ago
Smich got rid of gun because it implicated him and Dell...Crown wants to deal with Millard theory of shooting. That Smich did it.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 32s32 seconds ago
Millard to Smich: "Bring change of clothes." Crown says evidence "they were planning the murder that day."

Bringing a change of clothes does beg a few questions, but IMO this in itself is not evidence of meditation of murder.

Hence why evidence isn't considered on an individual basis. The pieces add up to reveal the full picture.

Now THIS is a closing argument. He's hitting all the evidence and slamming it home.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 40s41 seconds ago
Now Leitch is going to address Millard's defence team's story of what happened. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 47s47 seconds ago
"There is not one shred of evidence that shows this happened. It is pure and utter speculation," Leitch says. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 45s46 seconds ago
Millard says an accidental shooting happened on 403 with him not knowing Smich had a gun. There is no evidence of this at all, says Leitch

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 45s46 seconds ago
"There is no evidence in this trial, not one shred of evidence" that supports this, says Leitch.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 42s43 seconds ago
He says they cannot consider it. But in case they're giving it credence, he has 6 reasons not to. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 39s40 seconds ago
Leitch now talking about the theory that there was an "accidental shooting" brought through Millard's lawyers. #TimBosma #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 32s33 seconds ago
"There is no evidence in this trial, not one shred of evidence that shows that this happened." #TimBosma #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 49s49 seconds ago
1. Millard would not have driven truck w dead body if Smich had done the shooting. Wouldn't have sent Smich with his beloved dog. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 32s32 seconds ago
1. Millard would not have driven Bosma truck after shooting, with "a dead Timothy Bosma...and blood everywhere."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 6s6 seconds ago
2. Millard would not have followed Smich to the farm. For same reason Smich wouldn't have followed "lunatic Dell." #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 17s17 seconds ago
2. If Smich shot Bosma unexpectedly, Millard would not follow him to farm. Millard would not take chance of being shot.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 21s21 seconds ago
Millard would not have followed Smich to he farm if he had been surprised by Smich shooting #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes now6 seconds ago
3. If he left for 30 mins to get away from Smich because he was angry, it makes no sense that he'd come back. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 30s30 seconds ago
We don't know who makes the half-hour trip out of hangar. But if Millard left to get away, why come back? Why leave evidence in his hangar?

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 11s11 seconds ago
3. Don't know who took 30 min trip away from hangar. Getting gas, or taking time out makes no sense. If Dell didn't do it, why keep truck?

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 38s38 seconds ago
Why did Millard seek to profit from the truck? Ready it for paint

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s29 seconds ago
4. If Smich did the shooting, Millard would've tried to distance himself from the truck--not try to modify it, as he did. #Bosma

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 29s29 seconds ago
Leitch says if Smich had done this, Millard wouldn't have tried to profit off the truck, have it painted, etc. #TimBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 21s21 seconds ago
Why would Millard take possession of gun that Smich used to kill Bosma? Why keep touch with Smich is he was surprised Smich did murder?

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s29 seconds ago
5. Why would Millard take possession of the gun that Smich used to kill Tim #Bosma? (Millard had it before giving to Hagerman)

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 17s17 seconds ago
Why did Millard keep contact with Smich in the days after the murder? Shows they were in it together.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 10s10 seconds ago
6. Why would they continue to have such heavy contact for 3.5 days? #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 13s13 seconds ago
They were in it together, says Crown. The murder, the clean up. "This was the deliberate clean up and destruction of evidence."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 29s29 seconds ago
"they killed stole and burned together," Leitch says. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 25s25 seconds ago
They killed, stole and burned together

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 4s4 seconds ago
"He had everything to live for." Those were words used by Millard's lawyers to explain why Millard didn't kill Tim #Bosma.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 27s28 seconds ago
"Tim #Bosma had everything to live for, and his truck was not worth dying for."

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 41s41 seconds ago
He had everything to live for, said Millard's lawyer of his client. #TimBosma had everything to live for, Leitch says

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 34s34 seconds ago
Leitch says Tim and Sharlene had plans. More kids. Sharlene to stay home.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 25s25 seconds ago
"Tim #Bosma was kind," Leitch says.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews now6 seconds ago
#TimBosma was kind and decent. He had just kissed his daughter & put her to bed. He may have tried to get back to her.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 28s29 seconds ago
"Tim Bosma was kind and decent and never violent.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 19s20 seconds ago
He would never have fought these men who were armed, to save his truck." He and Sharlene had a bright future planned. Wanted more children.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 17s18 seconds ago
He says #Bosma would never have fought these guys. Not after kissing his daughter goodnight.

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 34s34 seconds ago
They murdered him in his truck. They burned him. They accomplished their terrible mission

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 38s39 seconds ago
Leitch tells the jury, when they retire to consider their verdict, "don't forget about Tim." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 9s10 seconds ago
He tells them to let the evidence guide them to convictions of first-degree murder for both of them. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 21s21 seconds ago
When you return to decide your verdict, don't forget about #TimBosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 15s15 seconds ago
"When you retire to consider your verdict, don't

"When you retire to consider your verdict, don't forget about Tim, who is not here to tell you what really happened." #TImBosma #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 23s23 seconds ago
Leitch thanks them and he is done. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 38s38 seconds ago
Leitch is finished his closing arguments. Jury on break

Adam Carter ‏@AdamCarterCBC 28s28 seconds ago
That's it for Leitch's close. The jury is now sent out for a moment. #TimBosma #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 46s47 seconds ago
Leitch clears his throat, seems slightly emotional. He is done his closing address to the jury. Jurors excused for break. #Bosma

***I bet there's not a dry eye in the room. I know mine aren't.

Brilliant and emotional closing argument! Very powerful. Thank you Mr. Leitch.

Wonderful job! Got me crying on the iPad. Thank you. Mr.Leitch

I think we all need a 15 minute break.

Thanks everyone for posting Tweets and discussing the case!

We're not done yet. Hang around for verdict watch when the jury is sequestered and all the "interesting" stuff starts coming out. ;)
