When I posted on here, I thought it was to reveal news that was not on WS yet.

Ha ha. WS people are way ahead of me.

At any rate, I did not know there needed to be links to WS sites.

Maybe there could be some text that let's us know that on every page or ?

Jury not sworn in properly, so man convicted in 2 Hamtramck murders gets new trial

Tony Briscoe/The Detroit News

Detroit — A man sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murders of two women in Hamtramck will get a new trial because his jury was not properly sworn in, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in an opinion released Tuesday.

In December 2012, Brandon Cain, 29, was sentenced to life in prison connection with the deaths of best friends Abreeya Brown, 18, and Ashley Conaway, 22, who were found fatally shot in a wooded area of Detroit’s far west side.

A Wayne County Circuit Court jury convicted Cain on charges of first-degree murder, torture, unlawful imprisonment and felony firearm charges in their murders.

In a written opinion, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Cynthia Diane Stephens found that Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans’ clerk had erred in swearing in the jury, so Cain should have a new trial...

9/11 museum: Tragedy turns the mundane into memorial

By Moni Basu, CNN

updated 10:08 AM EDT, Thu May 15, 2014

(CNN) -- When does the ordinary -- letters, gloves, wallets -- become extraordinary?

When the objects tell a story: a stack of personal letters that fell to the ground after a hijacked plane plowed into the World Trade Center; leather gloves worn in the recovery effort; a red wallet belonging to a woman who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald.

Tragedy turns the mundane into memorial. Something as simple as a wallet can evoke the immense sadness of a day like September 11, 2001.

Objects big and small from the greatest terrorist attack on American soil now make up a museum dedicated to that tragedy and the 2,983 people who perished. It is one of America's largest and most ambitious memorial museums, almost entirely subterranean and erected in the graveyard of Osama bin Laden's victims...

Bok-dong Kim is 89, but she is still haunted by her years as a teenager when Japanese soldiers during World War II turned her into a "comfort woman," or sex slave.

Kim is one of only 55 Korean comfort women still alive and she hopes that talks this week in Tokyo will finally result in what she and the other women have been seeking for decades - an apology and compensation.

Kim told ABC News that the trauma haunts her every day. “It pains me to the bone,” she said. “We were never set free. Even after the war was over, the memories enslave us.”

Detroit — A local meat wholesaler is recalling 1.8 million pounds of ground beef distributed for restaurant use in four states that may be contaminated with the bacteria E. coli.

The possibly contaminated beef were shipped to distributors for restaurant use in Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts and Missouri. The Food Safety and Inspection Service identified 11 cases in the four states since they were informed of the strain of E. coli on May 12...

"I have decided to seek the death penalty against Mr. Garcia-Torres," Rosen announced in a release Monday. "I have communicated this decision to the court, the defense counsel and to Sierra’s family. Given the facts of this case and after a comprehensive review by a committee of senior prosecutors, I have concluded that this defendant should face the ultimate penalty."

If Garcia-Torres is found guilty of murder, an additional jury hearing will be held to determine if the death penalty is appropriate punishment. "To ensure that the defendant receives a fair trial, I will not be making further comments about my decision at this time," Rosen said.
