Please know- I don't mean to sound heartless, and I know it can happen, but what are the chances that an elderly person gets kidnapped in that area, at that time of day?

Again, not saying it can't happen, but for what reason would someone want to take an old lady, even if she does look younger than her age? If someone did, in my opinion, it would be someone she knew.
It happened to Suzanne Eaton, correct? Total stranger, right? I know you said, "I know it can happen," so IMO you (and many others) are just choosing not to believe it in this case.

ETA: "and others". Also, I just don't understand the desire to believe RT is guilty of disappearing his wife when LE seem to be full-on searching for her, even after this many days (6, now?).

The only innocent explanation I can come up with is that maybe he thought she was in the camper and drove off without her by mistake and came back later when he noticed and she was gone. He could have been too embarrassed to tell LE because he doesn’t want people to think he is losing it. However, if that were the case, why wouldn’t she stay near the road to wait for help?

I want to know if there is any evidence she left on this weekend trip at all. Any photos? Did they stop anywhere for lunch?

Do they have a pool or hot tub at home?

May be he could say the camper door wasn’t locked and she must have fallen out somewhere when he was speeding around the curves going to get help. And maybe somebody stopped to help her but abducted her instead. Very unlikely but anything is possible. MOO

Yeah, and these stupid scorpion things that like to make a home in your boots while you are sleeping.

Place is fricken miserable, unless you like heat in the day, cold in the night, and creepy crawly nonsense.

Oh, and don’t touch the equally stupid desert tortoise, which is apparently a protected species.
Laughing, I guess you'll not be vacationing in the desert anytime soon :p

I’ve followed many missing person cases and I can’t recall the last one where MSM has not reported on any other family member except the last one seen with the missing - I find it odd reporters aren’t attempting to interview anyone else BT knows - I’ve been searching every day for updates and nothing - it’s odd IMO

Cops insist they're examining 'all possibilities' after missing hiker's husband claimed he's suspect | Daily Mail Online
'At this time, our search efforts are directed on locating Mrs. Thomas in the area last witnessed by Mr. Thomas,' San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer, Jodi Miller told DailyMail.com Thursday when asked about his claim he was a 'prime suspect'.

Miller added to DailyMail.com: 'As with all of missing person cases we examine all possibilities with the desired outcome of locating the missing person.'

Is the source of the uncropped MSM?
Not a mod but only with a link to an approved source. MOO
what do you think about the Facebook missing pages if it’s not set up by family but rather the Missing Person .... there are a few - I don’t think the family has set up anything official yet - wonder why????

Not the safest area to be wandering around alone. There is a rougb crowd in the area, and people go missing in the desert there, frequently. Usually, loners, runaways, addicts, street people, the "invisible" people in our society.

I don't see a hopeful outcome here. Sadly.

I'm not sure I understand your question. There's a missing page set up by Barbara? MOO

If she was wearing a sportsbra no one would be taking notice at all of this.

Meh
It isn't us that is taking notice of this- it was the husband, and the way that he said it. I could care less what she was wearing- to me, that has nothing to do with why she is missing. Women and men have been kidnapped in all sorts of clothing items, so it doesn't matter in the end, except to her husband- he even mentioned she had a beer in her hand- to the media, mind you.

I don't believe he had anything to do with it either. Not impossible for sure, but doesn't feel right. Abduction doesn't either. I confess I'm at a loss if she just went missing though, for her not to be found. I don't know what's around there in that immediate area- mine shafts, lava tubes, sink holes - and I don't know where SAR has searched of these do exist.

Suzanne Eaton was out there running/walking much longer and by herself. I'm not sure it's an equal comparison to Barbara. JMO

RT does not say Barbara was wearing shorts or a sports bra. He says she was wearing a bikini. LE does not say Barbara was wearing shorts or a sports bra. Their description of her clothing since the beginning has been that she was wearing a black bikini. I don't understand why this is confusing. MOO
