I wish we knew when the picture of her in the black bikini top and red hat was taken. IMO She looks much younger in that picture. When the story broke it was the only photo that was released. Her description was given as wearing a black bikini, red hat and blonde hair. It was a description of her as she was in that picture, minus the sunglasses. Now her hair is obviously white, not blonde.

In the other photos, Barbara is dressed modestly. I doubt she’d be running around the desert in just a bikini. Maybe bikini top and shorts, but not a full bikini. Something’s off.

Interesting comment under this tweet:

Inside Edition on Twitter
Yes! Same person making the comment. Only difference is this one directed at IE and other at sheriff. I would have thought suspect being suggested earlier now I’m wondering if the suggestion is that someone has info. Instead of tweeting about it the commenter needs to CALL themselves!

I don’t find her looking that much different, maybe a shadow plays a role, or maybe time for fillers or botox- meaning she had then in hat pic, but it’s time again? But what bothers me is the blonde hair statement. Where did that come from? Unless she dyed recently she’s grey.

Interestingly, if you dig deep enough on FB you will find a comment from family relating to what she was wearing that differs somewhat but same amount of skin.

Still no sign... not looking great

Abduction theory is odd. How would that even happen? A vehicle pulls up and pulls her in? Then drives off with her. Doesn’t sound plausible unless if it was at gunpoint maybe
I think it is odd too for as close as he supposedly was. I hear of all the warnings about I 40 for trafficking and drugs. I live in a state it passes through but, this road wasn’t I 40. Only thing I can imagine in this vein is by a known person or she wanted to disappear.

I do hope LE took his cell phone for GPS data recovery. They should ask him where he last fueled his truck and go see surveillance video if available, looking for evidence of her being alive. Also ask him who was that last person he and his wife spoke to. Verify that. Seek out the last spot they stayed the night before this spot where she has supposedly gone missing from. Talk to people from that spot..

We need the answers in all of the questions in the above quote.

The likeliest scenarios where she is still alive include:
- abducted and held
- voluntarily hitched a ride in order to 'disappear'
- scam by the couple

So all hope is not lost.
BBM: This crossed my mind. Maybe the two had an argument and he had the keys to the truck and the camper and she, out of anger, flagged down the first car she saw and hightailed it out of there.

While that general scenario is possible, I believe that (at least according to her husband Robert) the keys to the camper were under a nearby rock.

It would be nice to think so, that she is still ok after all this time. What about her supposed trip to HongKong to visit her ill brother. If nephew becomes verified informer on here, then we can accept that info as fact. I'm at least considering what he had to tell us.

In any case, wouldn't she be in contact with family at least? Her son? Her brothers?

All wishful opinions that she is ok, somewhere.

If you believe Inside Edition.

“They were on their way back to the camper when Bob said his wife started pulling ahead. He told her he wanted to take a picture of a rock formation and as he put his camera away, he saw her rounding a corner.”

Husband of Woman Who Vanished During Mojave Desert Hike: 'I Just Want Her Back'

I don’t know if he mentions it in the video. My internet isn’t letting me view it.
If he was "putting his camera away while seeing her round the corner then he would have been right behind her and would have most likely see her walking ahead of him as soon as he rounded the corner.

This scenario is the only one I can consider at this time that does not involve any foul play involving her husband.

Yes, the Barbara Bolick case in MT in 2006 or 2007. Her hiking companion turned to take a photo and when he turned around she was gone. No trace to date.
I replied to this yesterday and it was removed. I'll try again. In the Barbara Bolick case Montana, there is no independent corroboration outside of her husband that she was ever there. Just sayin'.

If she was wearing a sportsbra no one would be taking notice at all of this.

Wearing a bikini top and shorts is not odd to me. She probably likes to tan. A full bikini would be weird to me. Not unbelievable, just weird.

Drinking a beer is weird because it's just not safe in my opinion (because of dehydration). I would never drink beer while hiking in the desert, and I like beer.

If you're going to do harm to your wife and hide it by concocting a "she got lost while hiking" story why would you describe her attire as a bikini and boots with a beer in her hand? Why not make it at least reasonable, ordinary, average etc...

... because you think the "wild n crazy" nature of the outfit makes your abduction story seem more likely, (which is why you mention it like it's an obvious cause-effect), and also because you just happen to have at hand a photo of her in that specific outfit to show LE? MOO

I don't know if I suspect the husband or not, but if I were to do so, this bit of rationale would make a lot of sense to me.

I hope that in addition to any searches taking place near their home, that any reasonable routes from home to the Hidden Hills area are being searched along the roadsides.

True.

Here's where I get stuck, though:

Scenario 1: We just saw this exact situation play out in the Rousseau case.
Husband gave a presser and said what he thought happened to his wife and daughter.
He thought they had been abducted.
He thought wrong.

They'd gone voluntarily missing.

Scenario 2: We also just saw this exact situation happen. Dude went inexplicably missing, co-worker was even here on WS posting, dude's brother was gravely ill/dying, and nobody knew what to make of it.
He was located.

He'd gone voluntarily missing.

You also have the other recent missing hiker who was out with her spouse, that Powell case.

We all know how that one turned out.

So there's that, too.

JMO.
Voluntarily missing in the middle of a 100+ degree afternoon in the Mojave desert makes zero sense to me.

“They'd gone voluntarily missing.”

She was planning a trip out of the country in a couple days and that would have been the perfect opportunity to go voluntarily missing. A woman wouldn’t voluntarily go missing without taking her expensive hair and face products and vitamins, etc.
Then there's this. I totally agree. No woman goes voluntarily missing without packing a bag. MOO

The only innocent explanation I can come up with is that maybe he thought she was in the camper and drove off without her by mistake and came back later when he noticed and she was gone. He could have been too embarrassed to tell LE because he doesn’t want people to think he is losing it. However, if that were the case, why wouldn’t she stay near the road to wait for help?

I want to know if there is any evidence she left on this weekend trip at all. Any photos? Did they stop anywhere for lunch?

Do they have a pool or hot tub at home?
