I am basing my speculation upon the following for now . . . because that's all of the information that is available, at this point.

DEC 16, 2020
Remains of woman lost in Mojave Desert last year found
[...]

According to Supervisor Jeff Lewison of the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division, her body was located on November 27 of this year in the desert near Essex, California.

An autopsy has been completed, Lewison confirmed, but the cause of death is still pending.

I can't even read that, because I am in the UK and the page is unavailable to us in Europe.

I can help you out with that, gladly.

Here is what I believe is the relevant portion of the above-linked article:

An autopsy has been completed, Lewison confirmed, but the cause of death is still pending.

I can't post more of the article, because it is brief, and we are limited to copying and pasting roughly 10 percent only.

But—look at the start point you’re using. It’s Essex, too. So there’s no way to even guess at a possible distance. We just have to wait for more information.

One of the police call logs posted above mentioned a call to Essex Road, which is why I was asking how far it would be to walk from the spot she was last seen to Essex Road, in particular. I understand we're not going to figure it out, I just wanted to see how long of a walk it would be.

Thank you! Yes. That must be a workaround. Most US newspaper site are blocked to us because of legislation passed in Europe.

"451: Unavailable due to legal reasons

Makes sense though that report was for Nov 29th and she apparently was found on Nov 27th. So we don't know whether Essex Road is involved at all, or just the rather vague location "in the desert near Essex," which presumably refers to the unincorporated community of Essex.

Re: North on Google Maps

Go to Google Maps with the map you want to look at visible.

On the lower right side of the map, there is a column of buttons. Starting from the bottom, there are the following:

1. A little orange figure
2. A minus and then a plus for resizing
3. Show Your Location button thing
4. Globe View button
5. 3D/2D button
6. A circle with triangles, one red, one white in the middle pointing in opposite directions with arrows on each side. THIS IS THE COMPASS. Red is always NORTH. If you click on the arrows, the map will rotate depending on which way the arrow is pointing.

Some of those features are not always present, BUT 2. and 6. are essential features.

For anyone who lives close or knows the area, would the immediate area around the RV be considered Essex, CA?
I think it would be considered the Essex area because it's the only place with somewhat of a population for miles. Essex has 89 people and Amboy only has 5. Ludlow only has 10 and they are about 30 miles away. I spent three months out there working and there is nothing around

I don't see many of those features. :(
But let's not stray off topic.
