Few more as well:

Can Robert’s lawyer explain what they are doing to search for Barbara’s alleged abductors?

Does Robert’s lawyer feel it would be a good idea to post a REWARD for information about Barbara?

Was Matt recently, or ever receiving money from Barbara?

@dbdb11... thank you for posting that question.

Welcome to Websleuths, coffeebreak. Good to have you with us!

I'm terrible with names and don't remember the Vulcan mine but I do remember the Bonanza King which seemed too far north, IIRC. I think the Hidden Hill mine was the one I had it narrowed down to, if in fact a mine had anything to do with Barbara's disappearance.

Coordinates here: Hidden Hills Mine (Hidden Hill Mine), Hidden Hill, Arrowhead District (Arrow District), Providence Mts (Sierra de Santa Coleta; Timpisagwagatsitci), San Bernardino Co., California, USA

Latitude & Longitude (WGS84):
34° 48' 29'' North , 115° 32' 56'' West
Latitude & Longitude (decimal): 34.80806,-115.54916
GeoHash: G#: 9qjy48eet
Locality type: Mine
Köppen climate type: BWh : Hot deserts climate

Map: Google Maps

That is a great map! Thanks.

There are several other things he could be doing right now, such as:
  • Putting up BT's missing posters in businesses, gas stations, etc. (since he believes she was abducted).
  • Hiring a PI to investigate her disappearance (since he believes she was abducted).
  • Contacting MSM reporters attempting to get them to cover BT's disappearance.
  • Contacting BT's family members to compare/contrast notes re: any possible places BT might have gone if she left voluntarily, plan independent family searches, keep her family in the loop, offer mutual support, etc.
  • Coordinating and/or participating in unofficial searches for BT back in the desert.
  • Participating in SM activities to help get the word out about BT's disappearance and making appeals for information.
JMO.

Great list @GordianKnot ! Can we please also add registering with NamUs? From what I know, anyone can do this as long as there is a official missing person report filed? IMO

ETA: to add link The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

The one and only time I went through that area in the summertime (it was August) it was so hot that the glue on the weather stripping around my driver's side car window melted. Every time I opened my car door, I had to stuff the weather stripping back onto my car. I loathe 100+ degree heat. I get that they are "desert rats" and more acclimatized, but I still have a hard time believing that they would go out for a walk during the hottest part of the day. MOO.
Yeah. Not an attractive time time to hike out there.

Barbara is an experienced dog owner and I really don't believe she would want to take a dog into the desert in roasting temperatures for five days. In cooler conditions, yes, but not in the current climate.

Hadn't heard much about length of trip or itinerary - is there a source in MSM or from VI for them going out there for 5 days? Or is this inference/info from other source? Thanks.

Claims and Mines, Where & What to Search?
Holy smokes, my colleague wasn't kidding. This article says over 14,000 mines near Bullhead:
Bullhead City, Arizona Mining Claims And Mines
@rosesfromangels :) Thanks for your post.
On seeing 14,000+ figure, I said to myself , that's a lotta places to search. But info below states 14,243 claims. Were all of those dug into, quarried, drilled into, excavated, etc. leaving space to accommodate an adult body?
Your same source gives number of mines as much lower, 338 total in BHCity.
So which category should be searched?

It's probable that since RT was the last person to have seen/been with BT, LE (via warrants) has collected RT's computer(s) and cell phone(s) and hopefully has also called for obtaining RT's cell phone data as collected by the carrier... of course to assist them in their attempts to locate BT.

Wondering if BT had actively used any computers that may have been in their house or libraries?

Wondering if RT's cell phone was fully powered up (i.e.: not fully powered off or battery removed) the entire day of July 12?

Wondering if there is a gap(s) in location data for RT's phone?

Wondering if BT has currently-prescribed medications? Were all medications taken (as verified by remaining quantities) up to the day she went missing?

Does BT have hobbies, such as stamp-making, picture-painting, clay modeling or whatever? Are there any works-in-progress; what are the themes, if any? Happy? Sad?

Ex-wives? Ex-husbands? Have they been contacted, questioned, whereabouts verified?

We can't sleuth RT (ex-wives) on the thread but here's what I've gathered about Barbara - mostly from dbdb11.

What we know about Barbara

Barbara (“BT”) is 69 years old, 5’9” tall weighing 130 pounds, with blonde/white hair and green eyes. She has a son, Matt, who lives in Indiana. Matt’s children call BT “Grandma Barbie.” BT has been married to RT since Nov 2006.

BT has two brothers. She is particularly close with her younger brother (dbdb11's father) who lives in Hong Kong and is seriously ill. She regularly mailed hallmarks and postcards of travels and adventures with photos to her brother in HK. Her brothers are estranged from one another.

She is a loving lady, loving aunt, loving mother whose son gave her a pretty hard time. BT raised Matt on her own and lived near her mother. dbdb11 said she is tough, not the type of aunt who spoils you, but warm and quick to smile.

BT is a regular and avid camper; an outdoorsy type who regularly traversed the desert. She enjoys collecting rocks for their rock garden and is fond of gnarly wood pieces. Both BT and RT like bottle hunting and finding leftover prospector knickknacks, flints etc. Bikini, beer, and hiking boots are BT's style.

She went to school for art but it is unknown if she ever graduated. Art was seen by dbdb11 in her apartment, pre-RT – her own sculptures and paintings. She painted "Iggy," dbdb11's pet iguana and gave him the painting. When she visited HK in May 2018, she brought a stick (like driftwood but from the desert) which she had painted and gave it to dbdb11’s dad.

BT used to be a cat lady who also had a dog. Her cats would always stay hidden when dbdb11’s family would visit but her dogs were always very loving. She’s always had at least one dog, and since meeting RT has transitioned fully into dog person. She/they currently have a dog named Lexi who was taken to a kennel on the morning of July 12, the day she disappeared.

Robbie brokered a home sale for her, and that is how they first met. He also helped sell her mother’s condo after she moved into permanent care facility. They would eat out on occasion in casinos but dbdb11 never had the impression that either of them liked gambling. He also said that he never had any reason to suspect they weren't completely in love with one another but he had very little interaction with them in the grand scheme.

BT is not tech savvy and has never had a cell phone. She had to be taught how to use one while visiting Hong Kong. Both her son and her sister-in-law claim Barb expressed wanting a phone, but she never got one.

BT and RT have the usual marital arguments which dbdb11's parents describe as comical and entertaining.

She was very excited about Trump - for something politically different. She tried to sell dbdb11 on him as the answer to America's problems. They could get into really good political conversations, but she is a stubborn woman and rarely if ever does dbdb11 remember her ceding any of her views.

It is dbdb’s opinion that there is no way Barb would willingly jump in a car just to get back to the camper faster. Impossible in his mind. Unless under extreme distress, she would not get into a strangers car around there for any reason.

LE said they are unaware of any medical conditions that may have caused BT to become disoriented or lost.

MOO

Just got back from a lovely day out and about.
Thank you for clarifying this info; much more manageable I think?
If someone can post a map with where their home is vs. where they supposedly went hiking, I will tell you exactly where I would look.....
