Garcia: According to phone records, on 9/18/06, Garcia called Pape twice between 2:45 p.m. and 3 p.m. Doesn't recall making the phone calls.

Garcia: On 9/18/06 just after 4 p.m., Garcia tried calling Becky Friedli.

Garcia: At Pinyon Pines home, Garcia recalls seeing garage and a couple of vehicles parked in front of it. Didn't see a wheelbarrow.

Garcia: In interview with RSO investigator, Garcia stayed at Becky's home for about an hour or two before driving back home.

Garcia: Told investigator he saw first responders all over the place. Appeared as though something occurred at the home.

Garcia: Tried calling Becky just after 4 p.m. on 9/18, "in the hopes that she wasn't there."

Garcia: Had calls with Pape on 9/19 just before 2:30 p.m. Aside from house burning down, no other details known.

Garcia: Garcia's father, employed with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office at the time, said it appeared to be a triple homicide and the house burnt down. No other details.

Garcia: Knew of Tiffany Teasdale, Becky's family member. Had 3 calls with her between 8:30 p.m. and roughly after 9 p.m. on 9/21/06. Learned from Tiffany about a body being found in a wheelbarrow at the home. Doesn't remember when he heard about that

Garcia: Recalls running into Tiffany Teasdale in the Coachella Valley sometime after 9/18. They discussed what they both had learned about what happened. Shared with Tiffany Becky's plans for going on a hike at night with Pape on 9/17.

The calls between Tiffany Teasdale and Javier Garcia on 9/21 appear to be roughly around 8:30 p.m. according to the phone records

Garcia: According to records, Garcia had another call with Teasdale on 9/22 around 1 p.m. Doesn't remember what call was about.

Garcia: On 9/24 just before midnight, Garcia called Becky Friedli "just so I could hear her voice one more time on her voicemail."

Garcia: Knew 3 people ( 2 friends and 1 acquaintance) who lived in Pinyon Pines at the time. His friend, Nicholas, lived about a mile away from Becky's house. On the way to the Friedli home.

Garcia: Didn't talk with acquaintance leading up the fire. Recalls being up with friends for the Friday night party. Becky did not come to the party, but just came to pick Garcia up around midnight to 3 a.m.

Garcia: Not uncommon to do favors for each other late at night, early in the morning.

Garcia: Spent the night at Becky's house. That was the last time Garcia was at her house. Made trips to the Friedli home about 3 to 5 times during the summer and fall of 2006.

Garcia: Becky spent the night at his home Saturday night. Had errands to take care of, including picking his mother up from airport and taking car to shop for new tires. Dropped his car off, drove his mom's car the rest of the day

Garcia: After waking up, Becky Friedli drove her car. Believed she drove to Claire's house to do babysitting. Garcia met up with Friedli and Claire at Target in the Coachella Valley. Left Target between 1 and 3 p.m. that afternoon. Didn't discussed proposed hike that night

Garcia: After Target, they went to Del Taco. After Del Taco, Becky got dropped off at Claire's home in Rancho Mirage. After which, she headed back up to Pinyon Pines. After getting back home, she called Garcia to say she had gotten back. Both had several calls between each other.

Garcia: Never went hiking behind the house, never went back towards the rocks away from the road

Garcia: Confirms he had no cell phone coverage at Becky's house. Went to friend's house in Pinyon Pines, and then drove over to the Friedli's house

Garcia: Confirms he said he, Becky and Jon had smoked in the garage together

Garcia: When he arrived, there were first responders, news coverage and neighbors around the property

Garcia: Did not interact with news media. Was with residents from local neighborhood

Garcia: After being at the scene, he went down to his house. Talked with Pape several times, sharing what each other knew

Garcia: On the 9/25, he went into police station for longer interview

Garcia: Listened to initial interview with investigator and follow-up phone conversation. Did not know at the time the interviews were being recorded

Garcia: Phone died, tried calling her back when getting a better signal. Did not get ahold of her.

Garcia: Hike with Pape, Smith and Friedli was supposed to happen around 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. after they got off work. Becky would then go to her work after hiking

Garcia: Was in the room for the phone call with Friedli and Pape a few days prior to the fire. Doesn't remember directly overhearing the conversation.

Garcia: Knew of Cristin Smith. Like Pape, they grew up in community, went to school, had mutual friends

Garcia: Doesn't remember hearing Pape asking Becky if her parents were going to be home

Garcia: Garcia was present once or twice when Pape and Becky Friedli would be on the phone with each other. Was with her for 2 phone calls between Pape and Friedli.

Garcia: During 6:40 p.m. phone call, she invited Garcia to come over to her house.

Garcia: After inviting him, she then told Garcia not to come, and that "it would be awkward." Ultimately, Garcia never went by her house.

Moore continues questioning Garcia about final phone call. Becky told Garcia she was wearing jeans and shoes, just got out of shower, putting on makeup

Prosecutors continue questioning Garcia. Garcia said he was "sad, terrified. Didn't know what was going on," when seeing the scene of the Friedli home.

Garcia: Had intentions of helping investigators providing as much information as he can about this. Did not know at the time if Pape was a suspect.

Garcia: "I'm trying to connect the dots that I knew that I had," when describing his intentions on helping investigators. Adds on how he felt at the time, "It was difficult. It was extremely difficult... she was my best friend... it hurt a lot.”

Moore continues questioning Garcia. Asks about how he felt at the time seeing the home, his conversations with investigators. Didn't identify the person (Pape) he knew was coming to meet Becky in an interview on 9/18

When asked by prosecutors, Garcia recalls telling investigators about hike she was intending to do with ex-boyfriend around 7 p.m. Knew ex-boyfriend was Robert Pape.

Moore back to questioning Garcia about final call to Becky and what he told investigators.

Garcia is excused from the witness stand. Court is in recess until 3:10 p.m.

LeClair: Most common route from Palm Desert Sheriff Station to Cathedral City address is driving northbound on Monterey towards I-10 and Westbound on Dinah Shore. Estimated 25 minutes of drive time

LeClair: Went to the scene around 2 a.m. on 9/18. Two deputies briefed him. Role at Central Homicide Unit at that time was secondary investigator, assisting primary investigator. Worked with Ben Ramirez on gathering and securing evidence

LeClair: Did not take gas cans from scene into possession. Took business card found near home. On 9/19, returned to home and collected expended shell casing. No other items collected

LeClair: Evidence taken into custody were taken to the Hemet property room. No finger prints or trace evidence related to Cristin Smith found near car locations, gas cans collected.
