Before the most boring post ever;

The OC cold case unit's pursuit of the killers of Bill McLaughlin is now the subject of a just released book called 'I'll take care of you'. I haven't read it but I'm guessing Larry Montgomery features. Has anyone here read it?

I can't resist anything that gives a hint about the kind of investigators who are now helping with the search for Bob.

I wonder how long it will take to ID these remains?

Please do post the "most boring post ever"- it would feel good to finally be of service!

"Even God cannot change the past" Agathon

You do know that every post here helps the case of missing person Bob Harrod come high in google, don't you? Otherwise, people will be finding info about a real estate agent before they find info about Bob. And I think it's important this Bob comes first, until he's found.

So, here are some of the tags we had before.

awarded costs, baptist, bobharrodreward, bypasstrust, ca trust law, ca wills and trusts, camp pendleton, civil case, cold case, community property, conservator responsibility, fiduciary responsibility, community property, marine veteran, july 27 2009, oc missing, missing korean vet

Just bumping this thread. Where, oh where is Bob Harrod? He needs to be found.

I've been hoping and hoping for news about an elderly missing man in England, who like Bob went missing from a suburban area, very ill-equipped. He didn't even have his dentures in. And family haven't said a lot. The difference between his case and Bob's is that searches have been carried out every single day though, with the community turning out to help in foul, foul weather.

I still wonder what would have happened if that had been done for Bob immediately, and searches for him had been like other people's; along routes he might know, around the areas people he knew lived......

It is almost impossible to see, looking back, how Bob's disappearance didn't trigger deep concern immediately. Or maybe it isn't.....

I think the first thing I'd have done, if I was a loved one of Bob's and found he was missing, would not have been to call LE. I think I'd have called Fontelle first, to see if he had told her were he was going. Then I would have called family, then LE.

It is a little strange that Bob's daughter just called Fontelle and said 'Daddy's missing', rather than asking if he had told her he was going somewhere first, I think.

I'm far from local, so I've been checking out hiker stories to see if they are still out and about in SoCal at this time year. It's so important to keep them aware Bob may be out there and they should call in anything suspicious they see.

Anyway, I found this story about a 72-year-old hiker who managed to survive 3 whole weeks in the wilderness. As I read through, I was sure he'd turn out to be ex-military, with years of survival training. But no. He picked up all his skills watching survival TV shows!

I'm so glad he came home safely. There have been cases where the rescue/location of one person results in the finding of the remains of another person who died at the same spot. And even killers have been known to dispose of their victims in the same location another killer has chosen too.

Every day that arrives means another chance of somebody, somewhere stumbling across Bob. If we can get people actively looking out for him too, it can only increase those chances, I hope.

Bob's story is listed as being on at noon (ET) today on ID Channel. I have a school conference so I will miss the beginning. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Watching it now and several things struck me that haven't before. I will elaborate after I finish watching it.

I watched the ID show with my husband who I've told nothing to about Bob's case. These questions came from him while/after watching.

1. Keys- Why was door locked in the first place while JeM "ran an errand" while Bob was supposedly still home, no plans to leave and waiting on the housekeeper? He would stay leave the door unlocked or put a key from his set in the mailbox as always knowing he scheduled her to come? In addition how did JeM have the key to let housekeeper in (no key left) but Bob had to let JeM (no key)in that morning unless JeM had Bob's "missing" keys and still does.

2.JeM took long enough "looking upstairs" before she started cleaning that the housekeeper called up asking if Bob was there. Because? My husband thinks he was unmaking the bed after it had been made up, or quickly removed evidence leaving it unmade, short sheeted maybe? Or maybe stuff something in the laundry before the Housekeeper picked up the room, or changed sheets etc not knowing or prepared for any one else to be there, or aware of what her normal cleaning duties were and hadn't yet gotten to that area yet? She sensed something amiss even if she usually changed sheets, noticing the bed was still unmade. The entire bedroom/bathroom area should be sprayed with luminal. Js.

3.Call from Julie Monday evening to Fontelle after dozens of calls all day to Bob from Fontelle unanswered. That said "Daddy is missing" before a police welfare check? Why a welfare check when JeM had a key, to let housekeeper in, had access to house and could simply wait for Bob and/or call Police when it got dark?

4.Wife's belongings- knowing Fontelle was coming in a few days...their mothers belongings weren't removed. Maybe anticipating Fontelle wouldn't come if Bob wasn't waiting for her, or she wouldn't stay and there would be no need. (See a Few Good Men where Santiago didn't pack for his "transfer" because he wasn't going anywhere)

5.Did JeM pay for supplies, repairs? Yes. Receipts to prove it. Why? Was Bob not available to go and provide Payment for repairs and supplies?

6. What clarifying papers did Julie "find" at family meeting, where were they? Were they under lock and key on Bob's keys? and what did they say about him remarrying and the names on the trust or beneficiaries?

7. They (girls) say they didn't discuss Adding Fontelle- police find notes (to do list) why would Fontelle lie or better yet why would girls say they didn't? (Not knowing he would talk to Fontelle after meeting because of time difference maybe?)

8. Why...within days BEFORE Fontelle arrives back in California and not "knowing" what happened or where their Dad was would they meet to see a lawyer to remove Fontelle from the house? Or inquire how to keep her off the trust when their Dad specifically said he was adding her and made a to do list to do so. What would Bob say if he was to re-appear? He would write them off completely. But, they weren't worried...why?

Have all these been discussed? ;) Praying 2014 brings Bob home and those responsible brought to justice.

Mahouston, is Long Lost Love showing again? Bob's website collapsed because it's had so many thousands of hits today it has exceeded its bandwidth. I am running around like a headless chicken here because it's late night and I can't do a thing about until tomorrow. I am SO hoping all the people searching for info about Bob find this thread tucked away here - he is still missing, any guests! We really need to find him!

Oh, I am so upset to think there are thousands of people out there looking for info about Bob and not getting it. So upset. If we were still on the front page of WS, they'd all be here on the thread....:(

Dang dang dang. If I keep posting, will all those people find the thread easier?

Poor Bob. I am a complete and utter plankhead. So sorry.

For any new guests dropping in, here is a link to the transcript of the Disappeared, Long Lost Love Episode. It is worth reading carefully the section showing the time the housekeeper arrived at Bob's house (she says noon. Bob's daughter JuM said the same, early on). But Bob's son in law, who is the last known person to have seen him and was working in the house that day, gave police a receipt timed at 3.04pm, to account for where he was when Bob disappeared.

Confusing. Especially as daughter JuM who originally said Bob disappeared 12/1pm is married to son in law who produced the 3.04pm receipt.

It was the Discovery ID Disappeared show. That JeM and JuM didn't participate in but the other two daughters, housekeeper and detectives did. It seems to me from reading between the lines, of the detectives carefully choosing words that Bob's DNA was in JeM's truck but why would it be really? He didn't say he took Bob with him to run errands, hadn't mentioned when he was in the truck last...they said no evidence collected in the truck led to obvious foul play.

In the disappeared show they said the two receipts were
1) convenience store (morning on his way to Bob's or lunch?)
2) home improvement store

Housekeeper says in the show she arrived at noon, door was locked. After waiting 15 minutes JeM arrived with bag (my guess is convenience store stuff) She asked where Bob was and JeM didn't answer her except to ask if she was supposed to be there at that time on that day and then had her wait while he checked upstairs. There is a timeline discrepancy amongst missing persons police report and detective discovery, evidence etc.

I increased the bandwidth again, so it's all sorted.

The timeline for the two receipts - there was some confusion over the morning receipt. It was at a pharmacy, early morning, (9amish?)and the rumor was the purchase was donuts and paper plates. And in another rumor as it was someone online claiming to be a relative, Bob was said to prefer eating from paper plates. I am really not sure if that's just someone trying to highlight his supposed 'faults'.

There is a huge, huge problem with the afternoon receipt, in my opinion. Son in law used that to explain where he was when Bob disappeared. It's timed at 3.04pm.

The housekeeper says Bob was gone by noon - just like son in law's wife did once too. He's outnumbered. By the housekeeper and his own wife. His timeline doesn't hold water, I believe. He has had four years to clarify it, and has chosen not to.
