This makes my heart hurt.

We have to tell our daughters and sons to not place themselves with ANYONE EVER, alone.

Times have changed so much that everyone is a victim if you're not careful. Just being in the wrong place at the wrong time with a world full of no good people like this loser Mario!

Makes me just sick! I'll never go anywhere alone again.

Prosecutors asked the judge to order Garcia held on no bail, arguing they consider him a threat to public safety, that he has a prior violent conviction, and that they found two firearms at his home. They asked that if bail were set, that it be no less than $3 million because they believe Garcia has the assets to flee.

In the end, Judge J. Richard Couzens set bail at $3 million, saying he didn't think the prosecution met the standard to prove Garcia is a danger to the community but that he does consider the case to be serious.

Outside court, Wilson's stepfather, Patrick Boyd said he was angry bail had been set. "How can he say Garcia is not a danger?" he asked. "It's not like he killed someone he knew. He killed a stranger. How much more dangerous can you be?"

Nope...jail website shows him on the roster but the cases aren't online....best guess is same courthouse as yesterday first thing in the morning on 11/14

well... now I've read in the local paper that his hearing starts on Tuesday, 11/15!! I guess I'll just have to check it out myself. I'm headed that way this afternoon - as my glasses broke, so the eye place is just around the corner from the courthouse, so I'll go in & see what I can find out!!

Maybe he told his wife he had an altercation with a man as a cover story for his injuries, and she talked him into going for treatment? Maybe he was paranoid about aids? Stupidity?

Okay - I stopped at the Court Clerk's office the other day to try & find out WHEN and WHERE this prelim is going to be held - of course, the office was closed, as I missed it by 15 minutes..... :silenced: :silenced:

So... has anyone been able to find out WHEN this prelim hearing will be?? I sure would like to go and take notes for you all... at least... if anyone here is really interested!!??

I'm computer challenged... so can't look anything up!! :doh:

Volunteers were out in force again today near the Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln, searching for any sign of 27-year-old Christie Wilson, who disappeared more than a month ago.

Homicide investigators helped lead various search teams across rural areas around the casino and along Highway 193, looking for any clues to Wilson's disappearance on October 5 after a night of gambling. Wilson was seen on a surveillance tape leaving the casino with 53-year-old Mario Flavio Garcia, an Auburn man who is now charged with her murder.

On the news today I was only half listening and I heard them say that Garcia had once been in a car accident with two women and they both died. I had not heard this before. They also said that one was his girl friend. Shortly after that he got married and abused his wife. I cannot remember what channel we watched, I think it was KCRA in Sacramento, but I couldn't find a link.

WOW gardenmom! I was listening/watching KCRA this morning... but I didn't hear them say that!! All they talked about was the search going on around the casino and highways... today is going to be the last day that they will search for her... so I heard...

If worse comes to worse, I can always call into work tomorrow and say "something came up... I'll be in when I get in..." I can do that ya know! great place I work for! but still takes hours away from my vacation time... need to save some for my Christmas holiday shut down days! came up with the placer county sheriff's press release - aahhh... dated 10.25.05 - excerpt:

Garcia's bail was not reduced and he remains in custody with bail set at $1 million. Sheriff's deputies arrested on October 14th on unrelated weapons charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11th.

aahh.... excuse me... but it's November 11th - yesterday?? :waitasec: MUST be a typographical error!! ya think? so... I'll take that as being Tuesday, November 15th... would you?

Thanks Chico! your a peach! :blowkiss: I searched some more, or I should say "tried" to search over at the placer county sheriff's site... but alas no progress there either! :banghead: this is getting frustrating. But I shall tell my manager on Monday that I have "things to do" on Tuesday. Do you think it will be at the historic courthouse - Old town Auburn? or at the court buildings on "B" ave - ?? I've watched the news stuff, and the background sure doesn't look like the old courthouse. More like at the DeWitt center, but the court rooms are actually down the street from there. So I don't know what to do! But I'll keep an eye out on this thread and see if you can or anyone else for that matter - can find out! I'm doing this for YOU guys!!

The Placer County website led to the court website which is low on info, at least the info I was after It showed the Judge Couzens as in Dept 1 and starting at 8:30 in general, not specific to this case. Of course we could just email one of the reporters and ask

Is that who the Judge was? Couzens... I thought I read McKearney or something like that! Okay then - Tuesday it is... I'll get there (near the Dewitt center) about 8am and check out the court calendars or just ask one of the police officers that search you when you first go in! Off to enjoy this sunny day! I just heard a 'breaking news' report on KOVR13 news. During the search for Christie Wilson today, they found a bag that had bondage items and hair that was thought to be human. The newscaster said they would report more on the 11:00 news.

Maybe this is the break they needed..
