I actually find it very interesting he didn't kill the guy with the boat.
Really makes me think he is ONLY going to kill targets unless he gets desperate.

I was thinking about that yesterday!! He could have easily killed that man, but didn't. I agree with you -I think he will only kill his "targets."

Heck, he had enough time writing his short story to have had an editor. Wish he had stuck with that. But noooo, we have billy badass. He's crossed the line. In the end he will just be a legend in his own mind.

And on facebook and twitter.

Supporters of Christopher Dorner, the former LA policeman turned "cop killer," have shown up online, with tweets and fan pages on Facebook. Some call Dorner a "hero" for writing a nine-page manifesto alleged on racism and corruption within the LAPD.

Numerous supporters on Twitter are calling the alleged murderer a "Dark Knight." One Facebook page calls him "the hero LA deserves, but not the one it needs right now ... He's a silent guardian, watchful protector against corruption, he's our Dark Knight."

Dorner's five-hour-plus head start before the search got underway has brought extensive speculation about his whereabouts, including theories from his former boss, retired LAPD Police Chief William J. Bratton.

Miller speculated that the burning of Dorner's pickup showed potential for calculated "pre-staging" and "planning." If this is premeditated staging, he said, "It makes you wonder: What is his plan for the end game?"

The guy has posted to Facebook this week ( along with what I suspect are countless others claiming to be him). There isn't some television/CSI-type method of pinpointing where he is from that?

Only if he posted after he went on the lam.....if he posted before he's long gone from that locale.....I have a feeling he has other things on his mind right now than posting.

He has a lot of targets. Including all LAPD cops. So that doesn't make me feel any better.

I took a break from the madness yesterday and ventured out with DH for a movie and dinner (OT: Identify theft was pretty good). Interesting things I noticed:

Vons. 1 entrance only - the other locked. Armed guard at the one entrance (as if this guy is gonna come in for a bagel or something).

Helicopters - plenty.

News: He has literally fallen off the news and nothing on CNN this morning. I wonder if this is a tactic from the police/LE to not give this guy any publicity. I checked all the local 11PM news stations last night - nothing!

Here is a short article I found from LA. Otherwise, all seems quiet this morning.

Also another article from UT San DIego. They've set up a special command center to track his sightings. Plenty of tips being called in, but none panned out.

Right, I was noticing the news is quiet and just showing the storm in the NE. You may be right and also he won't know which areas they are focusing on and searching.

From twitter feed:
The search has resumed on Bear Mountain for fugitive #dorner but many residents think he's long gone

I agree, Melanie, about the possibility of minimal news coverage being strategic. This guy is a narcissist who admittedly has begun this nonsense because he felt as if the world wasn't paying enough attention to him. I believe decreased media coverage will enrage him and cause him to up the ante and flush himself out. I pray LE is prepared.

I wonder if this jacket is yellow. Last night I heard on the scanner that there had been a report of a possible sighting of the suspect in a vehicle with large boxes in the backseat; wearing a yellow jacket. [keep in mind that there were lots of false sightings so this is a long shot.]

Too bad the cctv image is in black and white.

I don't think reduced news coverage is a strategy. It's Saturday. Reporters are at home resting.

I've noticed the same thing. I think MSM has been asked to minimize coverage. MOO

A 20-year veteran of the LAPD was watching TV Wednesday night when he saw a report about how a former officer was a suspect in a double murder in Irvine.

“I said, ‘Oh, that guy looks familiar,'” he said.

A couple of hours later, around 9 p.m., the phone rang. It was someone from the department’s elite Robbery Homicide Division.

“Where is your family?” the colleague asked. “Get ahold of them, but do not alarm them. You need to get into one room. We’re on our way.”

He seems to be relatively intelligent about how not to be found. I think it would idiotic to burn your truck and then just hide out in the same vicinity. Surely he is smarter than that. I think he probably stole a car or had a motorcycle in the back of his truck and got out of that area before the cops even found his burned up truck. He's not even in the area if he has half a brain. He is crazy so who really knows at this point the level of function he is capable of.

It's the weekend. When do we ever see the same level of coverage on weekend?
