I'm worried about the Grammys tomorrow. And again, I don't believe that he's in Big Bear/Arrowhead...and I also think (although can't back up w/ details) that the broken axle may not be an accidental thing...and that the truck has been a diversionary tactic ala the boat heist. Planting evidence where he's not, just to lead LE on a merry wild goose chase in bad weather. A way to waste resources and drain energy of LE.

I'm also not worried for my own safety. Dorner's pretty clear that his targets are LE, and I'm not LE. Still, I'll be taking normal precautions and making sure the dogs are in with me and other protection at hand...but I don't believe he is going to involve citizens unless there's a big change. And right now, I don't see the metrics for that change.

I pray that today is the day Dorner is caught...dead or alive.

Seems I've noticed the opposite. Usually weekends are slow and any 'good story' they cover to death, so I find it intentional that this is so quiet AND the giant snow storm is a big deal and getting lots of coverage.

I am not so sure he isn't going to kill people that get in his way, even if they are not LE. I am also not sure why Grammys would be his target, he never said anything about targeting Grammys.

Yesterday was not simply a day like any other, and yet an entire system is grinding into motion to ensure that the peculiarities of the day be promptly forgotten: another crazy person lost it and committed unthinkable acts. The act of killing stands in and speaks for the person: look what he has done, of course he must be crazy. Case closed.

What they want you to see is just another Adam Lanza, just another inexplicable act, and when the act speaks for the assailant, words are secondary and there is no need to listen. But this is not, and has never been, a good way to understand reality.

What they want you to forget is the sheer strangeness of what is happening in Los Angeles. Christopher Dorner allegedly killed a police officer and two civilians. This was not a random shooting by a right-wing gun-nut mourning the loss of the “Real America.” Here is a man with good things to say about liberal democrats, a supporter of heightened gun control, a former LAPD officer and Navy reservist, targeting his own institution, which he accused of racism, violence, and corruption.

At this point in the chase, I really don't want to here from LAPD about how he is a bad guy. Truth be told if he did not post that manifesto to his facebook, and had sent it to a news station or what ever we would never have seen what he had to say. I am not sticking up for what he has done, but I understand where he is coming from as far as being railroaded, jmo. btw I wonder when anderson copper will share the DVD that dorner sent him?

I've never heard of a news "dump". Many people catch up on the weeks news over the weekend. Myself included.

Wondering that myself.

It was clearly a direct interview with the individual.

Just me, but I don't think I'd be announcing via an interview (anonymous or not) that I was leaving the state; I wouldn't say poo.

On the other hand, the interview could have taken place due to personal relationships among the interviewee and member(s) of the media.

Under the circumstances, I also wonder if the interviewee sought and received clearance for the interview with his/her superiors.

I have to keep in mind that the LAPD (and other involved LE) has both the motive and the means to utilize "unconventional" and "asymmetric" tactics with this subject.

By that comment, I'm not suggesting that LE will be using methods that are illegal, immoral, etc. Nor am I suggesting that they wouldn't.

By "motive," I'm referring to the public safety necessity to bring this situation to resolution.

Here is a good account of the first sighting in Corona. The story is detailed, the author's adjectives are a little over the top, imo.

Just seems like a very stupid move. Why tell this murderer how they are protecting those that were threatened unless they think it might make him more confident that he can try to get those who made his list.

That's what the plan is. I just wonder what will happen if Dorner isn't apprehended any time soon. What if he did go to Mexico? How are these people ever going to be able to live their lives?
