You could tell during Stallings questioning that the last bio child, the 9 y/o was alerted by her that he left out Orrin and Orson name. I sure hope Grandma does not get a visit tonight. Was this the boy that said he saw Grandma Wanda yesterday?
She said " and Orrin and Orson " after he listed the other family members being in Cal City and he says Oh yeah! Orrin and Orson.

He was definitely pushing the I do not remember line. He did not realize he was leaving the 2 younger boys off the list until Stallings told him.

I have never heard kids on the stand and I hope to never again. Pretty sure the last bio child, the older boy will be the same of I do not remember but he will have the maturity to know to add the names. I wonder if he has internet access during this? I think he will do a better job at remembering who Orrin and Orson is and what they look like.

Bet he will say he saw them in the van and on that bunkbed in Cal City. JMO!

Lets hope the prosecutor has something better up his sleeve?

One of the Wests' biological children has been called to the stand. #WestsTrial

Each of the West children has shown up wearing a collared white shirt. #WestsTrial

This boy is 9 years old. He's in 3rd grade. His favorite subject in school is writing. #WestsTrial

He identified the Wests as his parents. He said he remembers living in an apartment in Bakersfield. #WestsTrial

The boy said he doesn't recognize a photo of the apartment complex where the Wests lived but does recognize a photo of house in California City. He said he doesn't remember what room he stayed in or what it looked like. #WestsTrial

Asked who lived at the house, he named the Wests and his brothers but didn't name Orrin or Orson. #WestsTrial

Smith is asking the boy about bunk beds and who slept where. The boy said he slept in the middle bunk. #WestsTrial

The boy testified he doesn't remember Orrin or Orson. #WestsTrial

Smith displayed photos of Orrin and Orson. The boy said he doesn't recognize them. #WestsTrial

The boy said he doesn't remember going to his grandmother's house in December 2020, being there when police showed up or talking to police. #WestsTrial

Smith is going to play video of an interview police conducted with the child. #WestsTrial

The video is playing. The boy keeps rubbing his face and fidgeting in his seat. #WestsTrial

The officer answers his phone during the interview then goes back to questioning the boy. #WestsTrial

The boy is having difficulty answering any of the questions, including giving examples of something right and something wrong. #WestsTrial

He starts answering some questions and says mom and dad taught him right from wrong. #WestsTrial

He says he came to his grandmother's house a few days ago. His parents were in the van when they traveled there, and so were his brothers. He gives their names but doesn't name Orrin or Orson. #WestsTrial

Asked who lives with him, he also doesn't name Orrin or Orson but does say they lived in the apartment in Bakersfield. Asked why they didn't move to the house in Cal City, the boy says, "Because they were crying a lot." He says his parents told him that. #WestsTrial

He says his parents told him the boys went back to where they used to live. #WestsTrial

The boy says he didn't like having Orrin and Orson at home because they cried. #WestsTrial

The video ended. The boy testified he still doesn't remember the interview with the police officer. #WestsTrial

Asked what he meant when he told the officer Orrin and Orson West went to the place they used to live, the boy said, "They went home." #WestsTrial

Smith ended his questioning. Torres Stallings has begun cross-examination. #WestsTrial

She asked what he had to eat that day and how he got there. #WestsTrial

The boy told her what he had to eat and that someone drove him to court. The boy said he has been in the courtroom before. #WestsTrial

Torres Stallings went over the differences between truths, lies and mistakes with the boy. #WestsTrial

The boy said his mom was a good teacher. He was home-schooled by Jacqueline West. #WestsTrial

"Every memory" is his favorite memory of his mom and dad, the boy said. #WestsTrial

Attorney Victor Nasser handed tissues to Trezell and Jacqueline West. #WestsTrial

Court is in recess until 9 a.m. tomorrow. #WestsTrial

MAY 1, 2023
A 16-year-old boy who lived with the couple charged in the deaths of Orrin and Orson West testified he witnessed the wife on multiple occasions place younger children in a chokehold to get them to stop crying.

The teen, a foster child who lived with Trezell and Jacqueline West for about a year around 2016 — years before before the Wests adopted Orrin and Orson — demonstrated in court on Monday the move he said Jacqueline West used on the Wests’ two other adopted children, especially one who cried frequently. He said Jacqueline West would sit on the floor with the child in front of her and interlock her arms around his neck while using her legs to grip the child’s legs and hold the rest of the body still.

The teen said Jacqueline West would scream at the child as she held him in that position for a period of time that could last anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. The teen said he got angry but was young and couldn’t do anything to stop her.

Stallings made it a point to get him to mention why he left his Aunts home and went back to Jameson after he told her he did not want to go into it. She wanted to show that he was troubled youth, IMO only!

It really felt wrong listening to any of the children's testimony coming from all sides. Between the bio parents, the adopted parents, the police investigation and the court these kids will be more troubled from it than before.
I seriously doubt either Wests abused the bio children like they did Orson and Orrin.

And Stallings trying to make that hold down of the child by JW, into a proper technique for difficult children? At least that was what I thought she was trying to imply. She did not succeed though.

OK I will be quiet now, I am rambling.

Thank you for all your updates today, cuffem. It's really helpful to hear your point of view as someone who is hearing the testimony first-hand.

The statement below by the 8-year-old stood out to me. I'm wondering when he says O&O were only there one day if he was remembering a trip they made to the house while they were moving? MOO

The boy says both Orrin and Orson moved to the Cal City house "but then they left." He says they were only there one day and he doesn't know where they went. #WestsTrial

Don't quote me on it but I swear I remember someone saying in either the interview or the prosecutor that it was TW that told him they left.

At times things are barely audible with the recordings.

This child appears smart and mature and understood or was aware of what was going on. This is all believable and not a mistake as Stallings like to say.
The boy said he was troubled by what had happened. He very much understands right from wrong. IMO!

Morning Testimony, Part 1
DAY FIFTEEN - May 2, 2023
https://twitter.com/KGETnews

The trial of Trezell and Jacqueline West has resumed with the Wests' 9-year-old biological son back on the witness stand. He's being cross-examined by Alekxia Torres Stallings, lead counsel for Jacqueline West. #WestsTrial

A sidebar has been called. #WestsTrial

The sidebar was called after prosecutor Eric Smith objected to Torres Stallings asking the boy where he lives now. #WestsTrial

The attorneys and judge are back and the child is testifying to the people he lives with. #WestsTrial

Torres Stallings is asking if others in the home have talked about his parents. He said no but he has seen them on TV. #WestsTrial

He said he saw them on TV once, a long time ago. #WestsTrial

The boy has talked about sleeping arrangements. He said he and some of his brothers were in the Cal City home for a "long time," but he couldn't remember how long Orrin and Orson were there. #WestsTrial

The boy said Orrin and Orson would be at the dining room table and eat there with the rest of the family. #WestsTrial

Torres Stallings has finished her questioning. On redirect, prosecutor Eric Smith asked who disciplined him and his brothers. He said no, and doesn't remember who disciplined Orrin and Orson. #WestsTrial

The boy confirmed that when asked how long Orrin and Orson lived at the Cal City home he said he didn't know. #WestsTrial

On re-cross, the boy said his father would sometimes talk to him when he made a mistake, like running in the house. The boy has been excused. #WestsTrial

https://twitter.com/KGETnews

The next witness will be using a Spanish language interpreter. #WestsTrial

After this witness it's expected the Wests' eldest biological son will take the stand. #WestsTrial

Maria Cardenas Flores has been called to the stand. She knows Maria Martinez, Jacqueline West's mother. Has known her 20 years. #WestsTrial

Flores testified in December 2020 she lived at a home on Oakdale Drive. She said she doesn't recall giving items like a shelf and lumber to Trezell and Jacqueline West, doesn't remember them coming to her home. #WestsTrial

Smith asked if the Wests stayed at her home at some time in 2021. She said they slept over at a section "all the way in the back." They stayed there about a month, then the police came and took them out, Flores said. #WestsTrial

Smith is asking about the garage. She said she stores personal things there. Smith ended his questioning. #WestsTrial

Fatima Rodriguez, one of the attorneys representing Jacqueline West, has begun cross-examination. #WestsTrial

Flores agreed she let the Wests stay in her home as a favor to Jacqueline's mother. She said she never spoke with them about the case. The Wests slept in their car on her residence, didn't stay inside the house itself. #WestsTrial

Flores said she remembers Jacqueline and her mother coming to her house to get a bookshelf but it didn't fit in their van. She said she didn't help them put the bookshelf in the van. Under questioning by Rodriguez, she said she didn't look in the van. #WestsTrial

The video is over. #WestsTrial

Smith is continuing to question the boy. #WestsTrial

The boy he doesn't remember telling the officer the boys had been gone for weeks. #WestsTrial
