No, the County is not a defendant in these lawsuits. Only Ayres and Peninsula Psychiatric practice.

The hundreds of juveniles who were sent to Ayres through Diaz and the county should be filing suit. We know at least one was raped by Ayres who was sent by the courts. There must be dozens and dozens more who were as well.

I think you are right about San Mateo County not wanting the lawsuits against Ayres to go forward -especially as seeing that Juvenile Judge Marta Diaz continued to send boys to Ayres a full FIFTEEN MONTHS after knowing that the police were investigating Ayres for molesting boys.

Soooooooo-I would think Diaz might make a pretty good defendant, although trying to sue San Mateo might tie up the case to infinity and beyond....unless the county chooses to settle it.

We hear Judge Diaz is currently being investigated by a government agency for trying to get the police to stop investigating Ayres and for failing to protect the boys.

Two weeks ago, a mother of an Ayres victim called San Mateo Chief Deputy DA Karen Guidotti to find out what was going on with Ayres. When the mother asked Guidotti, "What happens if Napa State Hospital finds Ayres to be competent to stand trial?"

She says that Guidotti "hemmed and hawed" and wouldn't give her a straight answer.
Here on the one hand you have the Sandusky prosecutors killing themselves to get that case going. And then you have the San Mateo DA- with a case of one of the most prolific child molesters in recent Northern California history - deliberately frittering the Ayres case away with a crazy prosecutor who doesn't want to retry Ayres.

It has to be the the fact that the DA itself hired Ayres over the years. Why were they ever allowed to get their hands on this case?

The Ayres case has far more victims than Sandusky's. Ayres' victims number in the thousands.

Yep, I kinda flipped out too. How is he doing this with no license? Doesn't anyone watch these things? What about the cops that are trying to build a case against him, although I'm beginning to doubt their sincerity in that quest? How can this possibly be allowed? Sleeping children? My God.

Complaints about Frontera on the matter of him saying he is studying the sleeping patterns of children were filed with the Maryland District Attorney's office and Maryland Medical Board back in April, 2011. As a result of the complaints, Frontera was forced to add that he had "given up his medical license" on each of those websites on his credentials. This must be one website he missed.

Maryland officials are watching Frontera closely.

This is surprising. Authorities found 66 images and the doctor pleaded guilty to all 66. I've honestly never seen that happen. Typically, a plea will be for only a handful of charges. Consider Dr. Earl Bradley. He filmed 471 rapes of 103 children but pleaded down to only 24 counts. I'm sure Belinda could also site many many cases like that.

Thanks so much for finding that. That's a relief. I was doing searches on him and the only thing I found was what I posted about the sleep studies. Naturally, I was freaked over finding that. So glad there are no children involved. I do hope they are watching him closely. He needs to be prosecuted. I'm tired of these men just walking away. Loosing his license is not enough punishment, in my mind.

Chief Deputy DA Karen aren Guidotti in the Daily Journal article says that if Ayres goes anywhere it is "back to San Mateo County for prosecution?" By her statement she directly contradicts her own boss Steve Wagstaffe who told the mother of an in-statute victim in August that because Ayres was using a walker, that wouldn't be helpful in a mental competency trial.

Guidotti also directly contradicts her own prosecutor Melissa Mckowan who told many reporters and parents of victims in the summer of 2011 that "no jury would ever find Ayres to be mentally competent."

NO ONE is to be trusted in this case, including the San Mateo DA, who hired Ayres to evaluate boys and is terrified of lawsuits against the county

I'm sorry for being mean, but I hope Ayres is completely and utterly miserable. And I hope he stays stuck there for a good while. I think this is the closest we will ever get to having him pay consequences for his crimes, so I hope he is stuck for a good, long time.

Although Chief Deputy DA Karen Guidotti grandly tells the San Mateo Daily Journal reporter that if Ayres gets out, "the only place he will be going is back to San Mateo County for prosecution, " that's not what her boss DA Steve Wagstaffe told the mother of an in-statute Ayres victim on August 20, 2011, when he told her they were never going to retry Ayres.

Verbatim from Steve Wagstaffe: "Because of the 8-4 verdict on the competency trial, I cannot justify a repeat because I have an obligation to the taxpayers against spending more money on a subsequent trial that can't be won. "

And exactly how is Wagstaffe so certain that this trial "can't be won"?? Hmmm??

Wagstaffe doesn't want to win because between 1963 and 2003, San Mateo County paid Ayres hundreds of thousands of dollars to evaluate juveniles. All he cares about is the lawsuits that would ensue if there had been a conviction.

The San Mateo itself hired Ayres to evaluate boys, and they don't want to admit that they were wrong about him. Wagstaffe never ever admits to being wrong about anything.
