So what do we know so far

1. Mom talked to Erin for at least an hr on Fri before she went missing. Talked about food Erin brought for mom to make, trip to Sea World, etc. (Which tells me she was not planning to leave.)
2. Erin lived in an Apt (6652 ?something on base)
3. [modsnip]
4. At 7am Erin leaves to visit Joshua Tree park to look for places to take pics when her mother arrives. Husband last to see her per news report.
5. Early Sunday Jon reports her missing.
6. Monday LE find her car blue 2013 Toyota on Valle Vista (between Condor and Utah trail.) Don't know what color blue, light, dark, medium.
7. Reporter states that Mom told him, Jon thought she might have gone to "the ranch" to spend the night.
8. Mom learned Erin found out she was preg. on father's day.

What we don't know

1. What Erin was wearing when last seen.
2. A picture of the car-for tips, maybe someone saw it somewhere.

That's all I can think of, feel free to add to list.

For some reason numbers 3 and 4 bother me. I hadn't given it much thought until you put it in writing this way but I suddenly feel something is hinky on the home front. I hope and pray I'm wrong but it just doesn't feel right.

My impression of the family is that they are very - hmmm what's the word I'm looking for? Non confrontational? Not very aggressive? I don't feel like they're very pro-active as far as law enforcement goes. They wait until they are given up dates and don't really question what they are told. They probably have a deep respect for LE and wouldn't dare question them. My in-laws are like that with people of authority. If a doctor says it then it's gospel. If LE says it then it's gospel. If they want more answers about things they call me to do their dirty work. Give any one of us here on WS the authority to speak on behalf of the family and by golly we will get answers!! Lol

I know, and number 5 (waiting 'till Sunday to report her missing) is bothering me more and more.

Well, three, four, five, six bother me, and also seven.

I wish we knew what time he left for duty and if she had a schedule/timetable of when she volunteered at the Horse Rescue.

I'm going to make a few leaps here (in for a penny, in for a pound) but lets say that Erin leaves at 7am for JTNP. She doesn't come home before Jon leaves for his duty shift but he's not overly concerned because perhaps she was also due to volunteer with the horses that day. IF he has overnight duty shift there is a good chance that he didn't know she wasn't back until he got home the following morning.

I just wish LE wasn't so closed mouthed....I understand the reasons why but it make sleuthing difficult.

You are also not supposed to walk talking on a cell phone on base. You are supposed to stand in place, sit, etc.

Oh, now I get it. You're saying they don't want peeps walking around with cellphones up to their ear. Especially, I suppose, those wearing a uniform.
If you must make or take a call, you're to find a place to sit down or anchor yourself somewhere until you finish the call.
Is this correct?

I've never heard this before. The military has some strange regulations.

This makes sense to me, as being aware of your surroundings is key. Walking in the motor pool (or anywhere) talking on a cellphone, could be dangerous, in my opinion.
As a teenager, I was walking with my dad on the kaserne in Germany, and we came upon some soldiers,(who did not see my dad initially) and one of them had his hands in his pockets. My dad yells, "Get your hands out of your pockets, soldier!!" Immediately the soldier did as was told!!!!!!
So, yes, Many many regulations in the military. Ah, this is the life I was raised! :)

So LE has no clue if she ever even made it to JT? So they are searching there nonstop on the word of her husband and not searching anywhere else? I hope they have more information than what little Cindy Bachman states in this interview (I remember her from the updates she gave during the search for Christopher Dorner.) If Erin's husband did have something to do with her disappearance he may have pointed them in the opposite direction of where she actually is in an effort to keep them from finding her.

I am not getting a good feeling about the party the previous night. Is there a link about the party or did someone just post about it on one of the Erin FB pages?

Yes, when in uniform. It's all about military bearing. (You aren't supposed to have your hands in your pocket or chew gum in uniform either.)

BBM, And yet, a spokesman for SBSO said, if his wife didn't come home by dinner, he would have reported her missing sooner.

Does this indicate that Erin's husband knew she was missing as early as dinnertime on Saturday? Could be that he was also home at dinnertime.

I have not read the entire thread, so apologies if my post is somewhat redundant. And, apologies to any of this young woman's family or friends regarding the following points that I call out and ponder. This is a horrible situation, and my heart goes out to her family. One thing is for sure, if anyone can find her...it's the Marines.

Here are my thoughts that come to mind immediately:
[modsnip] What could have happened or have been said to make a young woman flee like this (if she did).
[modsnip]

These are my initial impressions; that she ran off on her own volition. However, if she were upset, it's more likely she would have contacted her mother or someone by now. BTW, young couples simply, or rarely don't spend nights apart at "the ranch" or anywhere else. She was mighty upset about something IMO.

A worse scenario with this statistic in mind:

Isabelle Horon and Diana Cheng published a Maryland study in the Journal of the American Medical Association which found "a pregnant or recently pregnant woman is more likely to be a victim of homicide than to die of any other cause; Homicides account for 20% of deaths in pregnant women."

Let us hope that this is a young couple going through a difficult time that will eventually resolve itself, vs. the latter theory.
God Bless this family, may grace and mercy guide them to a positive outcome.

Are you aware that she told her mother Friday afternoon of her plans to visit Joshua Tree? She already had plans, that her mom knew about, to make this short trip.

Yes, and something peeps might not know, a soldier wearing a uniform cannot carry an open umbrella. They must get wet - lol!

And if they take a lady's arm, or are carrying something, etc. they must always have their right arm free and ready to salute.

Just the fact that the spokesman said that leads me to believe that, yes, Erin should have been home by dinner Saturday night. Makes me wonder why Jon didn't sound the alarm then. Did they have a fight at or after the party? Did he have some reason to believe she wouldn't come home before Sunday morning? Was he really calling around before he reported her missing.

We just don't know, but LE does.

Would Jon's commanding officers be questioning him about Erin's disappearance? IDK???

It would be nice to have a timeline or do we have one? Maybe there isn't much info to put on it though.
Any idea what time the hour and a half phone call was on Friday? Other than her husband, is that the last known interaction with Erin or did anyone see her after? [modsnip]

Not sure a timeline would be useful here. Sadly.
