I wish someone would post the LAT and LONG of that mine so we can Google Earth it!
slightly OT: what does "mark your spot" mean in regards to WS?
I only know what it means in reference to my 2 dogs...
Bernina, I had the same thought about a .22. CL obviously knew a lot about weapons and why he would have planned to use a .22 is beyond me.
My guess is because a .22 was obvious for whatever hunting they were supposed to do. He wouldn't have to hide it. EC wouldn't ask why he was carrying it with them, and it would make a great excuse to LE why it was in his car that day, since he did (one time, anyway) say he went out hunting alone. JMOO
What I am wondering is if he had an ATV in the back of his jeep? How did they get out to that mine location without one, since I read that one of the rescuers mentioned that is the only way to get to that mine.
You can access that mine with a Jeep, as long as it has 4 wheel drive. From videos I have watched (and I'm not 100% certain where the mine was in relation to some of the videos of terrain) It would definitely be easier if he had someone with him to help spot him through some of the narrow, rocky areas though.
Because that is what he owned? Did he own any other weapons?
EXACTLY what I posted a thread or 2 back. NL probably got that comparison from "Google" or *maybe* horse lady. That's part of the reason why I believe NL knew or participated in "something".
Who styled his hair!?

Another problem is EC car was not moved when MB saw the red car.He said he saw the red car drive off and only noticed the other car moved sometime later also when LE did find the car her footprints went to tire tracks consistent with Cl's jeep not the red car. While I guess you can speculate that they came back a third time in NL jeep which would leave tracks with the same wheel base I find it hard to believe they would have the same tire tread and wear pattern.Let me clarify. Sorry for any confusion! Here's what I am thinking. For the record, I do not believe Jon was involved.
If Erin left at 7:30 am, and assuming Chris left early as well...one could assume that when MB saw the red car at 10:30am, Erin and Chris would be no where near that area. They would be in Joshua Tree.
I think Erin and Chris met at Ranch rd. that morning and left her car there leaving in his Jeep to make the drive together. Let's say Nicole becomes suspicious that both are Erin and Chris are gone and takes a drive and spots her car. She contacts Jon to which together they drive out to the car. This is who MB sees at 10:30. I can see Nichole saying let's move the car so they know we are on to them.
The next morning Jon calls to report Erin missing. He didn't do it earlier because he assumed Erin was with Chris but now something is feeling not quite right. He explains to the police that him and Nichole spotted the car the previous day. Bam! This is how Chris is initially on police POI list. The Red car they borrowed from the neighbor (maybe) is not an issue. Police know it was Jon and Nichole. They do not need to report this! It's a non issue at this point hence the lack of interest in MB's interviews. big sigh, hope that came out better! Please feel free to pick out the holes in this theory.
