This is address for the horse rescue. Why were they searching a RESIDENCE there? Could it be a tack room or barn instead?

Interesting that the two detectives listed on this press release are noted as being part of "Homicide Detail" for San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division.
If it's illegal fireworks, wouldn't it be a separate dept?

It was the 4th of July, that could easily have been a firecracker or a cherry bomb or bottle rocket, just celebrating the countries Independence. Desert areas are high fire areas so usually any fireworks are prohibited/against the law.

That station being Homicide Detail is very interesting.........

Homicide Division was the one behind the search warrant that lead to the arrest for the "destructive device". Doubt it was firecrackers (imo). Arrested on July 4th and posts bail on July 6th. That's a long time to sit in jail for firecrackers. Bail must have been substantial (imo). They probably tried to get him on whatever they could so they could interview him about EC. The Press Release is dated yesterday and it makes me think they are really hoping someone will come forward with some info. Don't see any other reason for a Press Release at all over that arrest (imo)

Yes but, this search warrant is for Geronimo Trail, not Jasmine, where the two search warrants were executed in the EC case. So this is a third search warrant we were not privy to.

I have a feeling there's a lot we're not privy to. :tantrum:

There must be some sort of "residence" there because remember the talk about EC possibly "staying the night at the barn" or something to that effect?

Interesting that in the beginning, JC said the day she went missing, he thought she may have been sleeping over at the horse ranch. If he knew she was previously having an affair, why would it be acceptable for her to sleep at the horse ranch, where another man might also be sleeping?! Almost sounds ludicrous. Sounds like what JC really meant is that he had a feeling she was with someone else that night. JMO

Does anyone else's theory involve the possibility that Erin was not the one driving her car that morning?

Exactly! And who knows....there could be, and probably are...more search warrants. I wouldn't discount the idea of an additional search warrant for a certain red car. :dunno:

I was thinking the same.

BBM-Yes that is very interesting.

Yet Erin's name was not mentioned anywhere on that press release, and the public is urged to call with information on the investigation.

Color me confused. A specialized homicide investigation team, looking into a destructive device discovered at a Horse Rescue Ranch, that is not in any way publicly connected to a specific case? Guess we are supposed to read between the lines?

I think there is most likely a residence on the ranch property. Stables and ranches usually have someone who lives there full time. It may even be the owner of the ranch. It could have been that residence they searched or I thought earlier on we figured out there is a bunkhouse available for rent on the property as well.

I know nothing about law but spending that amount of time in jail seems like a lot for illegal fireworks. Not sure what else it could be that wouldn't be totally scary though!

This "new" warrant was also served several days after the warrants for the two apts on Jasmine. So maybe something found in the Jasmine warrant led them to pursue another warrant on Geronimo.

Yes, according to the rescue's website, there is a place to stay:

"The WRR Bunkhouse is Available for Rent

The Bunkhouse is now available to rent!

The Bunkhouse has 2 bedrooms featuring lots of bunkbeds and 1 bathroom. It can sleep at least 12. It features a fully stocked kitchen with fridge, microwave, and stove. The living room has a fireplace and tv for your use.

White Rock Ranch Horse Rescue has access to miles and miles of riding trails and is close to BLM land.

Bring your own horse and use one of the two stalls for only $10 extra per night. Don't have a horse? No problem, you can ride one of the ranch's trail horses for only $20 per horse.

Introductory Special: Only $50.00 per night Monday through Friday. $80.00 per night on Saturday and Sunday.

Please note:

A deposit may be required.
Pets allowed on a case by case basis
Bring your own linens
Bring your own food"

Yes, this seems much more standard for illegal fireworks. Even the really dangerous ones sound like they carry a hefty fine.

Again being ignorant of legal stuff like this. When someone is held until bail can be posted, is it a charge that requires time served? Like someone wouldn't be held if hey weren't able to pay a fine on the spot right? Fines usually mean tickets and a chance to go to court or pay up in the near future?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? This isn't the only warrant we didn't know about. There may be another for a red car?

FYI- there were four warrants served July 1 (that we know of), two for the apartments and another two for the vehicles. This would be the fifth warrant we can confirm.

I would think that they were just trying to get him on anything to get a chance to talk to him. And an explosive device is an explosive device, be it firecracker or hand grenade. I think they saw an opportunity and grabbed it.

Also, since the search warrant was for a place and he doesn't live there, then did he have this device on him? Otherwise couldn't he claim it had nothing to do with him?

"Fire officials will be issuing citations for the illegal use of fireworks, with fines up to $1,250 for the first offense. Property owners may be cited if they allow fireworks to be possessed, stored or used on their property." This is a lot less than arrest and a bail amount that takes 2 days to come up with! And this is for the USE, not even simple possession. And the property owner would be whoever owns the ranch, not CL. Interesting....

agree wholeheartedly!
