I have read this a few times on these threads and didn't remember it so I went and listened to the MB interviews again. In the Jane Velez-Mitchell interview he states several times that she exited her vehicle and got into the passenger side of his car, nothing about going around to her passenger side. I believe the idea that she went to her passenger side is coming from his wording in the below interview. I don't believe what MB was saying was that she went to HER passenger side. I believe MB is saying she went to passenger side of the red car and maybe locked her car with the remote.

This is what he said (link below, at approx. 15 seconds in) :

"I seen a girl get out of the car, you know she had a little ball cap on, looks like some glasses, a little pony tail. I seen her get out of the car. She actually got to the passenger side, maybe did something, maybe locked her door or something, and, ah, what was a red car looks like a little Kia or Honda Accent, it was red, 4 door, umm, it was a short guy driving, didn't have much hair, but it was a short guy driving. Like I said, I seen her willingly get into the car...."

Oh, ok, gotcha! I was questioning his (MB) story about the "passenger side" because it was later revealed there was one set of footprints to his car and no mention of them going around her car. Thumbs up!

It appears the L couple seem pretty confident everything is hidden as they headed back to Alaska to start a new life. Might be short lived. Time will tell!

so where is the gun?

Fwiw-another scenario. This is all giving me a headache!!

1. Cl/ec meet where ec's car is found just after 0730. They go off together. Single set of footprints is left by Erin walking to jeep.

2. NL and Jc see each other at the apt complex, compare notes and find out both spouses are gone until 1600. (4pm ).

3. They decide to go find ec/cl together. Maybe they borrow a car; maybe one of them owns it. It's red and a sedan.

4. They go out the back gate and spot something that looks like ec's car. Jc is driving ( he fits the description). NL is passenger. They get to car Nl gets put , walks to passenger side and looks in to see what's there. Witness happens to see them. Nl verifies it's ecs car and walks back to jc in borrowed red car. Nl is in glasses and hat with hair in ponytail. Maybe jc has an extra car key and nl locks car after looking in it. They talk for a second after nl gets back in red car.

5. Meanwhile, cl and ec are far away. Bad things happen. I think he uses potato gun with .40 calibre bullets to shoot her. He picks up casings and throws in his car. He leaves her there.

6. Cl comes home. Nl confronts him. He tells her. She is pissed and upset because breadwinner is now a murderer and their daughter will have no father.

7. Search warrant served-police miss potato gun in garage but find it in green honda.

Moo. But it fits.

Not sure but there are active lava lakes in Amboy Crater Park. Read about it earlier but I'm having trouble linking from my phone

I seem to recall reading in the last thread that they were searching a pond/lake near base. Seems like a nice spot for a gun to go missing.

Found it. Apparently it was a caller on Nancy Grace who said that a pond near the base was being searched.

Can we tell when that was posted? I looked at his stuff on this forum before and it showed no postings. Did I flat out miss it? Had page pulled up and then never got back to it with 20+ other windows open.

Did somebody else put this up after the fact? If not, seems somebody saw Erin as ball and chain and problematic.

ETA: found he posted that 10/25/12. That was well before Erin was even at Twentynine Palms, but cheaters generally have a pattern of that activity. So I wonder, IF he had previous affair(s), has anybody come forward to share that info with LE?

See my theory. P5. I do think he used potato gun. That's what police missed when they searched 29 palms residence. My response to nursebeeme.

It should be easy to test the shell casings to determine if they were shot out of potato.

documents (start of thread) say that they also took a pair of tan boots.

just saying here.. it takes at least several weeks to do soil sample analysis, tread analysis, and subpoena cell phone records for all involved phones. So personally :twocents: I think we are in a waiting game here forensics wise. If they do not find Erin soon I can just imagine that they are taking all the circumstantial evidence to the prosecutor and the next step will be a grand jury. NL is completely wrong in her alleged statements that no body means she is off the hook if she did indeed say that.

Further thought on the missing 45 yet 45 shell casings inside the car: if those shell casings are inside that could mean the weapon was fired from inside the vehicle and I hope they are testing for that. I do not see any sort of perp going out to pick up shell casings and putting them back inside the car.... Unless this guy keeps his spent shells in a mason jar for posterity purposes, I am sure we will hear more about this at a later date :twocents: and this is my opinion only. As for any other cars involved or tracks... the initial car find warrant was limited to that but frankly we don't know what else is going on so clearly there could well be more that we do not know about to include warrants that have been sealed after the latest documents published by cbs8 that were part of the public record.

Just taking a guess, but it sounds like he just bought his jeep and he was naming it "The mistress"
If you click on that forum title, lots of the members title a thread with a woman's name. It stands for their jeep.

Ok I've no clue about guns and all I know about potato guns is either you shoot at potatoes using one, though I'm not sure why anyone would do that, or you shoot potatoes from one again not sure why. So could you put bullets in one? And what's a 40 is it a bullet? Excuse my ignorance I know nothing about guns except bullets and triggers.

Wait, a potato gun is usually powered by hair spray or propane or methane or... it's made of PVC and does not shoot bullets. Look up potato gun on Google. He didn't shoot bullets with a potato gun.
