'Nicole told Isabella that without a body the detectives did not have a case against them and the detectives would never find the body,” the affidavit stated.'

She should think again, and read up here. A former DA. The number of no-body prosecutions in the US are growing every day.

Yep, Connecticut had one in the 80s. Richard Crafts. And there's been a bit of forensic advancement since then.

I had that thought myself but, based on those pictures and a request on their site for donations stating they buy hay in bulk, I think the horses are hay-fed rather than grazing. I have read some articles online that they are pretty well thought of and have rehabbed over 250 horses.

Grazing in dirt surely doesn't work real well, for certain.

I think IM was answering the reporters question about EC and JC.

And the tone was almost as if IM felt she was doing Erin a favor, whereas it seemed like IM felt that CL really helped her out. She made it seem that she didn't know much about Erin at all. The interview seemed very matter of fact, with no emotion/concern over Erin at all.

Looking at the pictures on the rescue ranch, you can see Cl and a child riding a Shetland pony. I would guess it's his child. I would venture to say that the family spent much time at the ranch. The owner seems to be quite close to CL. I feel that it was difficult to share info with LE.

I've read that EC left the tractor supply store for personal reasons and also seen posts by the ranch supporting the store. Maybe IM didn't like why/how EC left the store or something relating to that. It could also be a personality clash. EC probably didn't volunteer at the ranch as long as CL and NL, either, so maybe IM felt a stronger tie to CL. I am not in any way excusing her actions but just thinking that there might be more reasons for them than her being involved in whatever happened to EC.

It may differ by phone (and we don't know the phones involved), but this is what I've observed on my iPhone. For texts, it holds them until I stop the "airplane mode," which is annoying because I can't tell when they sent it. I think voicemails are the same - sorry, I don't remember enough to be positive.

Found this to be an interesting article regarding cell phone tracking/pinging/locating.

Two neighbors I spoke with on the phone this afternoon report seeing helicopter search efforts in the hills near this mine shaft on Tuesday, July 22. One said the search effort was more up through a "wash." Another neighbor said he believed it was BLM land. One neighbor said it is possible to drive up near the mine shaft, but you have to walk a bit to the mine after the road loops around.

Another neighbor reports it is common for military choppers to fly over the area, so he was not sure if it was a search effort or military helicopters.

Here's a google map of the road looping around:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.2289733,-116.4727714,153a,35y,270h,39.16t/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

Where is the location of that mine in the photo? I checked the photo here and it has no latitude and longitude info:
http://www.whiterockhorserescueca.org/2014/01/fall-horse-camp-2013-part-two.html

However, that photo has a watermark on it, like it was taken from another web site named www.marinecorpsnomads.com. And when I looked at the mine shaft photo on THAT page, it DOES have latitude and longitude info embedded in the photo.
http://marinecorpsnomads.com/2013/11/horse-camp-fall-2013-day-two.html

Not sure how to translate that lat and long info. When I right click the photo is comes back as this:

View attachment 55534

I am sure it can be translated correctly into Google Earth latitude and longitude info. Maybe just remove the semicolons, but I want to be sure.

Ok got the online translator here:
http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html

It translates to:
34.228725 - 116.474386

It's a hike up the hill from the horse rescue location. Looks like it could be driven in 4x4

Here's where it is on google maps.

Apologies... I've seen this abbreviation before, don't know what it is? BLM land?

I'm in drought stricken Cali. Our horses don't have a permanent pasture, never have. We could not afford that kind of water bill. Megli feeds her horses, granted it looks like she puts the hay on the ground. But maybe she can't afford 30 feeders. Not trying to be argumentative with you, just presenting another side of the fence.

Very interesting! Do you know if this mine is near the Japanese Camp?

This question may sound dumb but I'll ask anyway:
After the search of their cars and U Haul, were the only items taken those listed on the released documents? Or is their whole U Haul of household goods, as well as their car(s), still impounded (per se) as evidence?

Another thing we have to consider---AND I KNOW WE CAN'T SLEUTH A MINOR SO I'M NOT GOING THERE---is that they (CL & NL) do have a child who may or may not have been in school, classes or groups of some sort, etc....that may have played a factor in when they could or could not move. Seems sort of trivial in light of the circumstances to keep your kid's life as "normal" as possible but it could have played a factor. IMO

New video (?) of the owner of the Horse Rescue talking about EC and CL...

http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/erin-corwin-missing-marines-wife-loved-horses-white-24700367

Anyone else recognize the girl in long sleeves walking the horse (which, btw, looks a lot like EC's horse Cassy) behind IM in this video at the :26 second mark?

Also, not certain if this has already been mentioned here but, I mapped directions from the base to the north side of Salton Sea it's nearly an exact two hour drive, as CL supposedly told her they were going to an undisclosed location two hours away.
