You will have to check out the scanner thread, I don't think I am allowed to post the info. here. Btw, I didn't get to listen to the missing 1/2 hour before it was deleted. I had saved one of the audio files on my work computer and then read about the missing 1/2 hour while at home...I almost couldn't sleep wondering if it was the one I had saved, for once I couldn't wait to get into work! Unfortunately it wasn't. :gaah:

I have a legal question if anyone knows the answer it would be greatly appreciated. If a crime occurs in my home or to a loved one and I am cooperating completely with LE and give them full authority to search and seize anything in my home or car necessary to help them in their investigation then why would they need to get a search warrant for my home/car? A few have made comments about them needed a search warrant in order for evidence to hold up in court but if I give them full right and authority to search LE still has to have a search warrant to search my home and collect evidence? Thanks in advance.

Sometimes it's just how the sheriff chooses to operate. A warrant is easy enough to get when you have probable cause, and it's a huge pain to have to send your officers to court to substantiate a claim that you allowed them to search. Most of the time any interviews with suspects are conducted with microphones recording, even on the suspect's doorstep, but the officers would still have to authenticate the audio in court. Plus there's the whole problem of coercion, because not many people would be willing to stand up to police even while knowing their rights completely. It's just better all around to get a judge to sign off on it.

Someone asked about fliers on the locate Erin page and they responded that the police were comfortable with the information they had.

Seems like they wouldn't be comfortable with what they have until they have enough to put someone behind bars.

I found a sliver of credit given to Erin on the Ranch's FB page. It's the photo used as the page's cover photo which was taken by Erin. This pic was posted on January 4, 2014. It was "liked" by Erin, so I'm assuming the photo caption "Photo credit goes to Erin. Great shot!!" is referring to EC. Hi I'm a lurker that lives out here in 29 Palms and to date I have yet to see any flyers. It has actually been asked that we do not help in the search and they believe flyers might only give them more tips/leads that would take time to debunk so they don't want to send them out. (that has also been stated on the Facebook group that is for her, made by his family)

Following the release on July 21 of the probable cause affidavit in search warrant #2014-119, detectives returned to the Joshua Tree courthouse and asked a judge to seal the entire search warrant from public view.

The judge agreed but the order does not prevent dissemination of exiting copies of the warrant already released to two news organizations, including CBS News 8.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department homicide Sgt. Trevis Newport told CBS News 8 that all warrants in the case were supposed to be sealed from the beginning.

A detective had made a mistake on July 4 in not asking the judge to seal warrant #2014-119, Newport said.

The list of search warrants that are now sealed or partially sealed at the Joshua Tree courthouse include recent 2014 warrants numbered 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 122, 123 and 124.

Because the records are sealed, it is possible that some of them are unrelated to Corwin’s disappearance.

It would take a motion and court order to unseal the records.

How can we interpret the statement correctly? Sometime after Erin left with CL (how long after, at what time, left from where, in whose car?) her phone was deactivated (by whom? near what location? about what time?).
Most importantly, is there concrete evidence that Erin left with CL or is the idea based on LE's hypothesis at the time the PCA was written?

Maybe they do have video of him with EC that day...hoping they put the minimum info in the search warrants.

I keep wondering why they don't have a command center staffed by volunteers to take calls/tips/leads. As a family member or close friend of a missing person, they'd have to lock me up to keep me from posting fliers and setting up a command center.
