Snipped:
Passenger Leon Saryan hid in a corner and watc.hed as the shooter “calmly walking down the corridor” toward him.

“He said, ‘TSA?’” Saryan said. “I just shook my head, and he kept going.”

An anti-government note was also found in Ciancia carry-on bag that expressed “his disappointment with government,” the L.A. Times reported.

The note ended with the letters “NWO” which was believed to stand for “New World Order,” law enforcement sources said.

Snipped:
In texts to his brother and father, Ciancia said he was unhappy and discouraged living in Los Angeles.
So why not move??? Yeah, I don't know too many people in L.A. that believe in the New World Order conspiracy...

Details surrounding LAX shooter beginning to emerge

Ciancia was from New Jersey but had reportedly been living in Los Angeles for over a year. One of his roommates told a local television station that Ciancia appeared fine in recent days.

"He said he was going back to Jersey, going to work for his dad, and making amends with family problems ... and spending holidays with his family," James Mincey told KABC-TV.

I'm curious if he had a hunting license or license to carry/own a gun. Could he have taken a gun from NJ to CA when he decided to move across the country?

Assault rifles with clips over 15 rounds are banned in NJ, in addition NJ only issues carry permits if the person can prove a dire need.

CA just passed strict new laws banning rifles with detachable magazines holding more than 10 rounds and many folks are storing their rifles out of state (not sure if they can register them instead but obviously many do not want too). CA does not recognize CCW permits from ANY other states so he definitely wasn't carrying legally.

CA has the strictest gun control laws of any state and it apparently didn't help prevent this at all.

What about ordering it online? or on the blackmarket?

What about ordering it online? or on the blackmarket?

If you buy guns online they don't just ship it to your house, it must be delivered to a FFL dealer (i.e. local gun shop). The gun shops takes receipt and when the buyer comes to pick it up they run a background check and all of that just as if you were buying it directly form them, they also won't transfer weapons that are illegal in the state as they could lose their license.

Now the blackmarket is a totally different thing, most criminals use weapons that were stolen and sold on the blackmarket OR they get a girlfriend or other person with a clean record to buy the gun for them.

Some states allow weapons to be sold between private parties that both LIVE in the same state but even then most folks want to use a FFL so there is a record of the transfer (if the last record showed they owned the gun and they sell to someone without paperwork then they could have big problems if the gun was used in a crime and they were the LAST owner of record).

How he got the gun will be interesting if they ever reveal the source.
Strange case.

It's not clear why Paul Ciancia targeted the agency, but the note found in his duffel bag suggested the 23-year-old unemployed motorcycle mechanic was willing to kill almost any officer he could confront with his AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

"Black, white, yellow, brown, I don't discriminate," the note read, according to a paraphrase by a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

The suspect's screed also mentioned "fiat currency" and "NWO," possible references to the New World Order, a conspiracy theory that foresees a totalitarian one-world government.

That's because he didn't buy his weapon in CA- it's not the fault of our guns laws. If the rest of the nation had them, he would probably have been denied!

He also could have bought it legally in CA, I know they recently came out with some super strict gun control laws but maybe he could have purchased it a few months ago.

I thought that type were banned in CA?

Not likely, assault rifles have been illegal here for a long time. I know, because my Senator Dianne Feinstein authored the legislation. We have also not allowed Concealed Carry that I'm aware of.

What the heck is "fiat currency"??? Italian money? Thought that was the Lira.

Paper money that is no longer backed by gold. You know, that new-fangled thing since we oh so recently went off the gold standard. :rolleyes: No wonder he has his panties in a twist about it. Nutter.

This rant sounds like somebody hearts Alex Jones. FALSE FLAG! :facepalm:

I honestly do not know what the laws were before but a few months ago the new legislation caused a lot of panic from CA posters on the firearms forums. They banned the sale of rifles with clips that hold 10 or more rounds. They also forced mandatory registration of assault rifles and htat has caused many folks to move them out of state.

People would have to be absolute fools to voluntarily register the rifles they have owned for years, this week the state wants mandatory registration and next week they may decide to just outlaw them all together and now they have a handy list of people to visit/rob!

CA technically does offer CCW permits but the are very very difficult to get (unlike other right to carry states). I remember years ago when Feinstein wanted to ban all handguns in San Francisco, the fact that SHE had a permit to carry her own handgun and apparently felt the need to was not an issue, she simply want to take away the OTHER people's rights.

Considering assault rifles generally run well over $1000 a piece (especially since folks buy all kinds of stuff to add to the basic weapons) it is rather astounding that they suggest just "give it to the police". Yeah right, not many are going to just "give away" a $1500+ weapon to the government.

The registration period for “assault weapons” and .50 caliber BMG rifles has ended. If an individual has an unregistered” assault weapon” or .50 caliber BMG rifle after the registration period has ended, law enforcement would prefer that they turn the "assault weapon" in to law enforcement. Anyone with a registered “assault weapon” or .50 caliber BMG rifle wishing to legally dispose of the firearm can:

  • sell it to a dealer with an “assault weapons” permit (for such firearms) and .50 caliber BMG rifle permit (for such rifles) or with both types of permits;
  • relinquish it to local law enforcement (after making an appointment);
  • remove the “assault weapon” or .50 BMG caliber rifle from the state;
  • or, destroy it.

The brother and sister-in-law of TSA Agent Gerardo Ismael Hernandez, who became the first agent killed in the TSA's 12-year history during Friday's shooting rampage at LAX, still were trying to make sense of the shocking news but took comfort in remembering the slain father of two as a hero.
At their home in Azusa, brother Francisco Hernandez and his wife, Xiumara Hernandez, became emotional as they discussed the sudden and tragic loss of their brother.
"It's hard to hear about this loss," Xiumara Hernandez said. "We're trying to deal with it."
The agent, a behavior detection specialist, was performing his usual work when he became the first and only fatally wounded victim of alleged gunman Paul Ciancia, 23, as he stormed through the screening area with an AR-15-style rifle, officials said.
"He was in front of the counter checking passports," Xiumara Hernandez said. more at link: http://www.contracostatimes.com/new...-family-members-mourn-slain-tsa-agent-gerardo

Or silver.

Also, some nutters stretch it a bit as slang for the American dollar that's losing value.

It's mainly used in conspiracy jargon.

Would like to note that ignorant crazy people started up social media pages with Paul's info but its not him. I've found 2 so far. These people are conspiracy theorists pushing anti govt agenda. They keep spewing false flag trash. These are the same groups that started the Boston bombing false flag stuff and the Sandy Hook false flag stuff.

The Ciancia family are very good people that are suffering greatly because of what Paul has done at LAX. The last thing they need are these freaky conspiracy nut jobs that hit the web less than a minute after the LAX incident. Paul did in fact send creepy texts to his brother, as well as others. Paul IS responsible for this.

THIS IS NOT SOME STUPID FALSE FLAG.

I think these nefarious people involved in these anti govt groups have mental impediments that allow their brains to be manipulated. Maybe these groups consist of people that never felt like they belonged in society, like they didn't "fit in" or something, but together in a group they are able to form such ridiculous ideas incorporating their own experiences and hence able to put their minds together to retaliate viciously. Pair that with technology & the speed of fiber optics - a perfect storm for anyone that will listen.

I beg that this thread - this horrible crime - isn't turned into what the Boston bombing thread is now.

Rest in Peace, Agent Gerardo Hernandez
:rose:

Another victim of yet another senseless (and perhaps preventable) tragedy.

Ummmm, since I'm not up on conspiracy theory jargon, or maybe it's that I'm a dinosaur, what does the term "false flag" mean??

Well in the airports I've been in in the last couple of months, the TSA screening is way past the baggage check-in. Couldn't they put it where the baggage check-in is??

That is exactly where it should be, in my opinion, especially at large airport terminals such as LAX.
