Just me, but if some random lady I met at an event and only saw a couple of times at other events said she wanted to be part of my kids’ life “forever” and offered to babysit, I would decline too. That would freak me out tbh.

But you weren't out here trying to get your family to trend on Instagram and what have you with your own hashtag and what not or letting your children give long hugs to adults. 🤷🏾*♀️

It’s public but idk if it’s allowed here

that little one with the missing teeth... her bones are just poking through her skin. Holy crap.

My kids all love things like pepperoni and salami and know they keep well unrefrigerated... the older ones have helped me cure hams and would probably know what cured meats are but likely not refer to them as such.

Yes! I just asked my kids what “cured meats” were, and they all knew what that meant. But they’d never use the term “cured meats”. Just as they know what an “automobile” is, but would call it a “car” in conversation.

I really doubt they would want that kind of attention. They're attention seekers, but not that kind! Also, food stamps.

Still, it's rather odd that the children were asking for such specific foods in such large amounts. They weren't asking for something to eat to get them through to the morning, they wanted a stock pile of food.

So why would Devonte want it dropped by the fence?

Good question. Were they told to do that so the neighbors wouldn't see the women grabbing the food, or were the children planning to run away and they wanted to pack the food for their journey?

Has it been confirmed that the neighbors did leave food at the fence? or just that the request was made by DH and then they called to report possible abuse

Wow, with a minor in special education no less.

Really makes one wonder why she was the one working and Jen stayed home with the kids.

I've known several people who want to work but can't pass a drug test cause they smoke marijuana or do other drugs.
And they can't stop for the drugs for the 30 days or so it takes for them to clear the drugs from their system.

Some of you are so good at this kind of thing. Now that we know or think they would have been traveling N before entering, what changes? Is it possible to enter the area at a higher rate of speed? Do we see tracks up top or make more sense of the crash site with a different angle of entry off the road?

That graphic from this article assumes Hart's were traveling South. http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-n...f/2018/04/hart_children_immediately_pull.html

I don't think it has been established with certainty, which direction they were going when they entered the LookOut spot.

They did head North out of Ft Bragg. But they may have driven past the look out, and then decided to go park there. And so they turned around and headed South, then pulled in by turning hard right.

That makes the most sense to me, because when going North, it would come up very fast, and you might not be able to make that turn across the highway unless you knew beforehand that you wanted to park in the lookout. It seems more like it is something you see, AS YOU ARE PASSING IT---JMO

I do agree there. Seems a little forward. I'm not sure I think they should have invited this person into their lives. But it was interesting that she reports Sarah telling her that Sarah feels overwhelmed and impatient with the children at home.

A rather honest thing to say, maybe?

I also read that Sarah confessed to the "spanking" when the women were interviewed separately at the police station right away.

But from the 2008 and 2010 incidents the child(ren) report Jen is the one hurting them.

Me too.

All articles initially said they were going south before turning into the rest area.

I really have to wonder if they thought that Thelma and Louis flying through the air after leaving the cliff's edge was reality rather than special effects, whether they thought they would land in the water like a boat rather than nose dive with gravity.

Sarah may never have used her degree. From Linkedin, she
started working at Herbergers, a dept. store, in 2000, while she was still in college. She graduated in 2002 and continued working at Herbergers, until 2012, when she started working at Kohls.

She might have made more in dept. store management then she would have made as a beginning teacher. Jen must have really wanted to stay home or else was not able to find a job making a comparable salary. She may also have wanted to be free to work on her photography.

I wonder if Jen had been suffering from depression for a while? This is solely my opinion, but the pull back from activities, weight gain, not going out, leaving Facebook... strikes me as someone who is depressed. The sudden stress of CPS might have just totally been the final straw. Perhaps she was not caring for the children and spending time in bed. Maybe that’s how Devonte was able to leave the house multiple times per day to go to the neighbors without anyone stopping him?

IMO, going off a cliff is so extreme that a “healthy” person would not jump to that unless there was an underlying problem like depression. MOO

Agreed, it all points to depression.
Except one thing. The house was orderly and well kept.

May have been Sara or the kids who kept it up of course, but since she was a stay at home mom, my guess is Jen.

I often feel impatient and overwhelmed by my kids and have had venting conversations about this with friends who feel the same way so I don't think that's an odd or concerning thing for her to say.

I agree, I also have a hard time imagining someone planning this.

But if I imagine Jen being totally worked up, like you describe, I CAN see her making a snap decision and plunging the car over the edge on purpose - out of rage, frustration, exhaustion.
I think that woman had a short temper. Everything points to it.

Why do you think they would take such a long drive to nowhere?
