Who knows what was said to these children to get them to smile and take good pictures. Smiling and looking happy could have been a way that they sought out rewards. Like "see, I'm being good and well behaved"
IMO
If Devonte was expecting CPS, if neither Jen nor Sarah were home when CPS knocked on the door, why wouldn't Devonte answer the door?
If Jen was home and CPS were only called on the Friday (according to Dana Dekalb) how did Jen know to not answer the door?

IMO, Typically people so obsessed with privacy DO NOT ever answer the door, if they aren't expecting someone they know. Remember these people lived their lives in hiding.
The children were probably warned and threatened to never, ever answer door.
Another theory I’m considering.
Might the rear doors have been locked with child safety locks also engaged?
Might that explain why only the front doors opened?
Or am I way off base?
Belts off and child safety locks engaged would certainly raise suspicion of a crime vs accident. At least for me.
People here on WS, sadly, have questioned the kids. [emoji174]It bothers me that the CPS just left when the visit went unanswered.
Three times no less.
Those people have a history of abuse, but I don´t think they should just leave in any case.
They should at least have alerted the police.
I don´t want to slam the neighbours, but I do think their reaction was too little, too late.
There were some serious red flags.
Children are generally not believed over grown ups. Their testimonies are not trusted, even though they are proven right, over and over again.
I think you should trust what a child says, it is usually the truth, and if you see a terrified child escaping in the middle of the night, hey, what are you waiting for?!
Those kids were so let down.
The force of suv falling off a nearly 100 ft cliff, will open doors, crash out windows, etc. Car crashes without a car falling off a cliff will have these effects.
I don't think belts on or off matter. No one was going to survive the crash either way.

This hug video is more disturbing for me to watch in light of the timeline that has materialized. (https://newsone.com/3786740/devonte-hart-video-surfaces-beloved-festival/)
Yesterday I looked up the Nahko character. His story is one of being adopted at 9 mos by a fundamentalist family. His father introduced him to music at 6 and he went on to absolutely capitalize on his heritage, his ancestry, his story.
In 2012, Nahko's band is playing at a festival and the Hart family is dressed alike, as close to the stage as possible, and catches the eye of at least bandmate Max Ribner.
At some time in 2012, Max tells us, Sarah came out to Oregon and in 2013 Jen & kids follow. Max himself gives the children 2ce a month music lessons.http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-n...f/2018/03/hart_familys_idyllic_public_im.html
Enter the hug video. In 2013, Xavier Rudd, who occasionally performs with Nahko, nods to invite a young, costumed, sign wearing Devonte on stage for a free hug. At 8:15 he makes eye contact with someone and gestures repeatedly, Devonte closes in on the hug at 8:44 (see video first link)
To me, Xavier seems uncomfortable. Not at first. Well, D seems to oddly & uncomfortably hug the guitar. Once Xavier realizes D is in for a long hug, he repositions the mic to keep performing and hugging. Once D is really crying, X seems to get more comfortable and offer a very affectionate head rub to D. But it keeps going and going and X tries to go back to chanting and eventually X kind of shakes D off. He doesn't want to stop performing, he's been touched by this kids emotion, but D doesn't seem to understand what to do next, imo. D turns around and beams for a moment before scurrying off stage after about 2 minutes.
At the time, Jen shouts out a big thanks to the videographer bc she was too busy getting still shots. In 2014, Jen is mad that someone took the picture without permission, even though she herself was taking pictures. I think she was just mad she didn't get to control the narrative. People were hitting too close to home about Devonte's performance.
I was a theatre kid. Musical theatre. As a preteen I was VERY passionate about the messages in our performances. Encouraging the kids to perform is not what concerns me, but this all is so fishy in hindsight. There were people who had concerns even among their beloved festival goers, but did this band hold a particular influence? Did they unknowingly encourage abuse?
Xavier has not made any public comments that I'm aware of. I think he agreed to let the cute free hugs kid on stage for a hug. But I don't really think he just happened to spy him in the crowd.
And who shut down Jen's Facebook? When & why? Why not Sarah's?
She could have peaked and saw them. Not answered the door could mean not opening it. It doesn't mean she didn't check to see who it was by spying
IMO
As to having your FB shut down, you can do that in facebook settings....you select a contact to have control over your FB if you die, then they can deactivate your page.
I don't answer my door if I don't know who it is. Not because I'm obsessed with privacy, but definitely a safety issue.IMO, Typically people so obsessed with privacy DO NOT ever answer the door, if they aren't expecting someone they know. Remember these people lived their lives in hiding.

Agreed. You never know what precipitated that photo. One of my most treasured photos is of the 5 of us kids in the front yard just after being given gifts. We were all grinning. It was the last group picture of us before we were shipped off to different relatives because our mother neglected to care for us, no food, no hygiene, no supervision, etc.
