and jumping off of your post, I can't understand why they don't at least charge him with felony neglect or SOMETHING. He himself has confessed all over the place that he left a handicapped, mentally impaired child standing by the back door in a business district, alone!
Okay, so you can't lock him up for what he did because you have no proof. Then lock him up for what he SAYS he did...then let's see him talk his way out of that.

Color by me

My thoughts EXACTLY...3 counts of neglect....2 when he left BOTH kids 'home alone' while going to the bank....1 leaving Hasanni 'behind' SHUZ...:behindbar

Go easy on me, I'm only related to cops so that doesn't give me any souped up knowledge of LE really, unless I ask...and they'd laugh at me over the "I need info for my forum' thing. Old skool cops (the ones in my family, suck)
The only knowledge I have of child neglect/abuse stuff comes from dealing with a situation where I took in a relatives child after they almost killed him, and what I've learned here.

here's my take...

The Fremont thing, leaving them while going to the bank, is kinda a waste because nothing happened (that we know of). Yes, the child was at risk, and Social Services could remove the child for that, but it probably wouldn't amount to a jailable (is that a word?) offense.

On the other hand, he freely admits that he left Hasanni standing by the back door of Shuz, even if he didn't. That's a confession in my book, especially if it's all over news video's. And, as a DIRECT result of his actions, this child is now missing. The proof that he commited a crime is in the fact that Hasanni is gone if you accept his account of events.
Endangering the welfare of a child?
Abuse of a helpless or dependent person?
Neglect?

I wouldn't know exactly what to call it out there because the Code of Law is going to read differently in different states but SURELY there are several criminal codes he violated just by leaving Hasanni where he SAYS he did.

I'd like for them to lock him up for the 'leaving him by the door' story because I want to see how the story changes then. How would he back peddle his way out of that? Then he would have to change his story to get THOSE charges thrown out. The only way would be to say his original story was a lie. He confessed. I've seen murderers convicted on nothing but a confession for God's sake. And here in South Carolina, neglect can carry up to a ten year sentence. If they locked him up, put him in GP, and made the d@mn charges STICK, LR would not be a happy camper after living in a cage for a week or two with twenty guys who believe he killed a helpless child. Common sense would dictate that self preservation would kick in at that point and he would be forced to concentrate on a different set of issues other than the crime making headlines. Then he'd be forced to concentrate on getting the neglect kicked, not the murder. That's when he'll screw up and hang himself. IMO.

I'm not for one instant suggesting that LE should make things up or fudge. That would make me a hypocrite for sure. I simply believe that surely the DA would stick a neglect charge. I just tend to think it would be a good starting point if they wanted to put pressure on him. They need a charge with 'teeth' and IMO neglect is it.

Here is a video that I stumbled across looking for the dog info and it's interesting to go back and relisten to the outline that LR gives after some time has passed.

http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/video?id=6962712

I'd never paid proper attention to this video before. His explanation is very, very detailed. He goes on and on and on, and repeats himself, ad nauseum.

I bet psychologists are having a field day with this one. He's got the story down pat to the smallest detail.

The big chink in his story is the amount of time it took to walk from the car to the front door of Shuz & back to the car. "Tops it took about 5 minutes." WHAT? That's about 4 minutes too long. Those extra 4 minutes are the most important part of his story. Without them, the kidnapper would have been caught...and he knew it!

I think that's why he's so angry. He desperately wants LE to believe the unbelievable.

Yeah, he's 'deadly' with those details isn't he? Now watch it again and while you're listening, make a note of every USELESS detail he gave that serves no purpose whatsoever other than hearing himself talk. I especially liked the description of the car door. All he was doing was padding his story.

If you watch all the video's back to back like I did, you begin to see a pattern. It looks to me as if the details start with the lying. That's why I think the bank visit and the Pick Your Part visit was the truth. No useless, boring details for those. I did it, the end...NEXT. The period between Pick Your Part and arrival at Shuz....no description and no details AT ALL. Coincidence? I think not.

He's very defensive IMO. I find it hard to watch him. I find him irritating now.

He never says that he screwed up by leaving Hasanni behind the store, does he?

He never says that he now realizes how much simpler it would have been to call JC (a 30 second call to say It's Louis; I'm here.) while unloading the stroller and the kids. By the time JC got there, he probably could have had both kids out and to the door with the stroller. (If Hasanni had even been there. But he wasn't. So he had to do it this way to make it look like someone kidnapped Hasanni.)

bolded by me.

And if JC was waiting for him in front of the store for him to hand off the baby,as ForensicsFan has noted, there's no way it took 5 minutes for him to go back around! He didn't even have to open the door or try to catch her attention!

You nailed it, he is angry because he wants LE to believe this b.s. story!

I'm thinking he MUST have called her, because she was outside the front door of Shuz to meet him!

Considering another possibility, if he hadn't called to tell her he was on the way, she might have heard the car drive into the parking lot (either the engine noise, or would there be gravel crunching? I can't remember if there is blacktop covering the parking lot). If she had been standing in the back area or near the hallway of the shop she might have heard something if she has good hearing. However if she heard his car arrive in the back, she would have gone straight to the back door.

Or if, as FF has speculated, she just anticipated his arrival, wouldn't she have gone to the back door and waited there, since that was their alleged "routine" ?

What both these scenarios add up to is: she was in on the scheme.

"No useless, boring details for those." A sure sign he's lying about the rest of the story. Makes me wonder WHEN HC really died. This story seems so practiced, so perfect. It's exactly what one would do if one had enough time to think about the details.

You're a glutton for punishment! I could no more watch all the videos than fly to the moon! His voice is irritating.

Shutterfly, that's very perceptive of you! The dumping ground has to be somewhere he's familiar with. How are we suppose to know that? Maybe he spent his days driving around or going for walks with the kids.(yeah right!)

Good To Meet all of you. Have, until now, just lurked b/c all of you have a great sixth sense and provides me food for thought.

As to the above comment regarding LE's statement that this little boy is not in Oakland, does anyone know if either F.P's phone records were obtained and gone over for cell tower pings, dates, times of conversations or periods of time there weren't any communication going on?

and HOW DARE anyone question the great and powerful LWR....THE THIRD

Heeeeeyyyyy...hold up a second here..STOP...REWIND

Jennifer met him at the front door? Either she's psychic or she saw the car. Which would mean he was coming from the wrong direction, and that maybe she went to the front door to see if that WAS his car. And why would she go to the front if she saw him and not the back? What if he WAS coming from the wrong direction, she wasn't expecting him because she knew nothing about him being early that day (he didn't call either), so she went to the front thinking she was mistaken, and wanted a better look at the car to be sure?

So anyway, he says she met him at the FRONT door, he never SET FOOT in the store, but that it took 'tops five minutes' before she opened the back door. Then what was HE doing all that time if he didn't go in the store? Why didn't he go immediately back from where he'd come? Was he standing out in front of the store looking stupid for the time it took her to get to the back door? Maybe they were standing in front of the store discussing/arguing about the reason he was here and hour early and didn't call, let her know ahead of time, nothing.

Is that making any sense or am I reaching WAY too far?

Nice to meet you, too, NS!

Who's F. P.?

No, he said he saw her through the door. She was at the register. He waved, gestured, whatever, and they made eye contact. He then walked back around to the back and JC was at the back door asking where Hasanni was. (I've done that when picking up my nephew. I look through the door, see him and wave, he waves back, and go back to my car to wait.)

Although if it was his routine to call her and say I'll be there in 10, wouldn't his appearance at the front of the store confuse her a bit? Or would she think "he didn't have time to call and he'll meet me in back"?

And I don't think the driveway was close enough to the front of the store for her to hear the car and know it was his (lots of cars driving through area IIRC).

You're reaching. Because he didn't mention arguing. Remember the inside of the store? It seems that it would take 20 seconds to walk to the back door. Would JC stand around arguing w/him if HC was in the alley alone?

We don't really know how much time passed from the time he parked the car in back and when he arrived in front.

To give a "kidnapper" time to snatch Hasanni, he'd have to take his time getting to the front.

That could have been the major chunk of time.

Then JC sees him and walks to the back.

LR walks to the back. Total time HE was gone, 5 minutes. But he makes it sound like it was JC who took 5 minutes.

Considering he was RUNNING LATE you think he would have done the simple thing of calling. He didn't because he needed time for a kidnapping.

All my opinion of course.

I dunno!!! :blowkiss:

But the reporter walked it and it took him 40 seconds to get from the back door to the front. So if he saw her through the door and turned immediately around and went back, it should have taken him approximately one minute total. Then where did he get the "five minutes tops' that he says it took Jennifer to get to the back door, get it open, or whatever? If that were true then he should have already been standing by the back door WITH Hasanni...right? :waitasec:

Yep, even to allow for some time for JC to look up, turn around, whatever. Even carrying a 19-month old and allowing for differences in pedestrian traffic (not sure when reporter walked it; was it a Monday at 4 p.m. ish?).

Let's say 2 minutes round trip. If that's your focus. But 2 minutes isn't much time to snatch a child and disappear from sight completely.

So you hang out on the side until you HEAR JC opening the door. Then you round the corner and the lies begin. Maybe?
