Not sure at this point. Of course the rumors fying and media is latching on to as much as they can. I think right now, all that can really be confirmed is that he knows her and that he is now in his house with SWAT outside.

Per Fox35 news on the TV, his Mom is there as are Heather's parents. They have also brought in Fire and Ambulance.

They say the suspect in the barricaded home is named Dave and that he was in their daughter's wedding.

As of 11:29pm the south Santa Clara County SWAT Team had moved into the front lawn of the house and into the house.

Still no word on the person of interest believed to be inside or whether Heather Carroll is in the house as well.

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Department said David Jose Quiroz, 30, walked out of a home in Hollister and surrendered to police at 3 a.m.

A search of the home is underway to see if there are any clues as to the whereabouts of 25-year-old Heather Carroll, who was reported missing on October 10, 2012 after she failed to pick her child up from school.
A standoff between Hollister Police and Quiroz started at 4:00pm yesterday and lasted for several hours.

Hollister Police say the suspect who has barricaded himself in a Cerra Vista home is a friend of Heather Carroll's family, the woman who has been reported missing since early in the week.

So not sure what we got here, Maybe nothing? Seems odd he would hold up and not cooperate.

I don't think there is GateKeeper (scanner thread). I will say that it was one of the most active scanners I have listened to in a very long time.

Glad he surrendered. Hope that he quickly tells any information he may know. I hate all the families who are in this state of limbo. She needs to be home with her son.

Updated: Man surrenders after 11-hour standoff in case of missing mother

Investigators had obtained information Friday pointing to the possible involvement of Quiroz. While responding to the residence for questioning, dispatchers received a call from someone saying Quiroz was armed and suicidal, according to a police statement.

Seems that they knew WHERE to look for her...or,at least an idea. Now Im wondering what he did with her.
