There are several helicopter companies out of Grants Pass, OR that fly the forests over the Oregon and California coast range/Cascades as they are often involved in firefighting and logging missions etc there.

There was a more well known company Carson Helicopter Services. I couldn't find a local website but there is one for the headquarters in PA.

The Coast Guard also flies up and down the coast for training missions.

Furthermore, there are pilots that volunteered to search for the James Kim family that was lost in the woods very near to here.

Good luck to you. My grandfather committed suicide a few years ago. I had to send my friends into the woods to find him (as I no longer live in the area). Thankfully I knew his stomping grounds well and knew where to send them. And even more thankfully they found him and not my mom and her sisters.
