I still haven't found the UID I was looking for, but I did come up with a few possibilities. I haven't checked whether the stats and circumstances match, just superficial facial resemblance.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) -- Ft. Lauderdale Florida
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) -- Blairstown NJ
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) -- Broward County, Florida

I also wouldn't want to rule out Valentine Sally in Arizona or El Dorado Jane Doe in Arkansas.

I have actually wondered about the one in NJ before. There was something about the clothing style that made me wonder.

Sorry for the serial posts. The pendant almost looks purple-y red. I'm going to go ahead and post it since we do have the same photos here. If that is not ok, please let me know. I just want to "zoom in" on her necklace from a better quality image. Screen Shot 2020-08-11 at 9.29.01 PM.png

Yes, and the facial shape is very similar.

I wonder if the people she stayed with had any connections to NJ? Or the East Coast? or if Julie herself did?

I thought someone mentioned that "Aldea" might have been a group home, and not just a couple. I've seen both floated, so a bit unclear. If Julie wasn't the only teen staying there, maybe that is something to look at? Beyond us, off limits, I suppose.

There is an Aldea child and family services in Napa, but that's a long way from Placerville.

Another UID we should not rule out for Julie: 311UFAK

Eklutna Annie, believed to be a victim of Robert Hansen. Died in 1979-1980. Police feel she came to Alaska from California or Washington. Age fits. Height fits. Again, the flair for clothing & jewelry fits. If Julie grew her hair out, I can see some resemblance to the police sketch when compared to the younger, long-haired photo of Julie.

Yeah, definite resemblance to Annie, especially through the nose and eyebrows. I think that one is worth submitting.

And I will submit for Eklutna Annie tomorrow. Just want to look into that case a bit more.

I feel so bad for her sister. I have several sisters. Cannot even imagine. :(

Here is one thing I am confused by: the estimated date of death for this UID is 1979-1980, which fits Julie. But Hansen supposedly killed women between 1971-1983, and says this was his first victim? So, wouldn't that put this UID in the early 1970s? (Confusing!)

I wonder how reliable he was? Are any of you guys familiar with him?

Going to look a bit more.

When I look up Aldea on Newspapers.com, specifying CA, almost all are references to the group homes that were(/are?) in Napa, CA. Articles as far back as the early 1970s, before Julie's disappearance talk about conflict with the neighborhoods in which they were located. This would be maybe an hour and half currently from Placerville, on the other side of Sacramento. I wonder if this is where Julie was at some point, and her sister is misremembering? There may have been a foster family with a different name, or perhaps Julie's mother wanted to protect Julie or her sister by framing it differently to her younger daughter. The program also aimed to ultimately place residents in foster homes, after receiving counseling, etc. Per the program, "Aldea" means "little village" in Spanish. They offered programs around the time of her disappearance for "average" high schoolers, one home for developmentally disabled women, and one home for severely troubled teens. I did note in an article from 1977 that Aldea stated that runaways could no longer be charged with a crime or locked up, a recent change to CA law (might be pertinent info for Julie)--they briefly attempted to run a nonsecure wing for such teens, but it did not ultimately meet the state guidelines and reverted to housing juvenile delinquents.

HOWEVER, I found reference to an Aldea family that did live in Placerville in the 1970s, although I can't find any information to indicate that they were foster parents. He was a high school principal and a welfare and attendance officer--perhaps he could have come into contact with Julie that way, if there is any relationship.

No mention of her dad either....
IF this is the Walker County doe, could he be the one she was trying to visit in the Ellis prison?
Also, she was not reported missing till 2019....the dates given for last time she was seen was between 77 and 79 I believe. Wish we had some clarification.

I have seen mention of her father on social media where a PI involved was posting. Easy to find.

Try looking for that Aldea's obituary. The foster children are mentioned there.

I didn't get a chance to look beyond that to see if that person has a family connection to the group home in Napa.

The specifics about possibly meeting a male for pizza are new in the update. And it seems quite likely that IS the same Aldea family? From Charley Project:

" After some time, she was placed in foster care and lived with a couple called Aldea. She may have disappeared while walking from her foster family's home to her grandfather's home, or she may have gone missing after leaving to meet a male companion at a pizza restaurant."

Submitted the Walker County Jane Doe months ago....assuming not a match but nothing mentioned on the rule out list.
Poor Julie...only reported missing in 2019....frustrating.

Anyone see a resemblance to Lumberton Jane Doe? NC - NC - Lumberton, WhtFem UP1882, 15-18, in cornfield near asphalt plant, Jun'78 I’ve been researching her case for awhile now. Julie would have had to travel to the east coast somehow, but seeing as she was “passed around” the family I could see her possibly feeling unwanted and trying to start fresh somewhere else.
Missing Since: Approx. July 1977 (1978)
Missing From: Placerville, California (North Carolina)
Age: 15 years old (15-20)
Height: 5’2” - 5’4” (5’2”-5‘3”)
Weight: 120 - 130 pounds (120 pounds)
Hair: Brown (Brown)
Eyes: Brown (Unknown)

Lumberton Jane Doe had seen a dentist in her life time, she had several fillings and serial removal of 4 molars likely in preparation for braces. The removal left spaces behind her canine teeth. I had never considered Julie a strong possibility, but after seeing some of these new (to me) photos, there’s a few similarities that caught my eye. The photos of Julie smiling look like she has some spacing on her top row of teeth, she has fuller lips and the same long, straight nasal bridge with a very slightly upturned tip.
