Thank you for your kind words.I was friends with her mother and stepfather. Met them long after her disappearance. They spent the rest of their lives with a deep deep sadness hoping for closure. All of her parents are now deceased as is her brother Tom. I know at some point her parents were informed of DNA testing of the incarcerated in CA. and they had hoped to find her killer and her remains. Nothing ever came of it, they too believed the neighbor was her killer.
Every year they would attend a sunset ceremony on the pier to honor Khym and to try and find some peace. They were beautiful people and I can only hope that they have all been reunited in the great beyond.
Does anyone have any info on this doe? Shes not in NamUs, the above link is broken AND there is no wayback machine link either.Guys, could this be her? There's not a lot of information since the remains are skeletal, but some children found a partial skeleton in September 1981 at Gristmill Recreation Area, which is only about six miles downriver on the American River from Khymberly's apartment. It's not listed in NamUs, so I don't know if she's been ruled out, and they don't have any details beyond knowning that Jane Doe was female, so the location is really the only thing that connects the two, but I still think it's worth checking out. Should I contact the coroner?

If that doesn't work, she's case 81-01564 found Sept. 14, 1981 on the listing at http://www.coroner.saccounty.net/Pages/Unidentified-Persons.aspx
