My impression is that Kiely seemed no more intoxicated than SS would have expected her to be based on her consumption or else SS probably would have made a statement by now as such.

I also think that in her heart of hearts she knew Kiely was going to drive home that night but chose to believe her transparent assurance e.g. "Tell me you're not going to try to drive home tonight". "Okay" and that internal conflict/guilt/rationalization/whatever is what is responsible for her statements seeming inconsistent. Taken from that perspective, they all make sense.

Great post!! Bam!!

It’s pretty cool Elsa P. came forward as she is an athlete. She stated she saw KR late in the night.I think this can debunk this theory that athletes don’t want to come forward to ruin scholarships etc. She may have a lot to lose by coming forward.
But what a beautiful, awesome, courageous witness!!!!!

Ok so here's another theory, what if she ended up overdosing and the teens that witnessed it panicked and hid her car and her body?... I'm curious as to if the investigators have checked chop shops, any of the garages at the other teens houses, online auto sales...

If you watch the interview with SS where she's sitting in her car, that's exactly what she does say. She assumed Kiely would just stay there or find a ride home.
She mentions she asked Kiely for a ride home when they were in the car (charging phone to text) because her ride was leaving and she wanted to stay at the party longer. Then they went back to the party and split up. She mentioned splitting up so she could find "them?" another ride so they could....then she was lost in her train of thought. She's probably having a hard time piecing the night together, which I can totally understand.

MOO
Yes, I know what she said she assumed KR would do. Whether or not she actually assumed that at the time, or just said that after the fact because of kickback from people criticizing the friends for not preventing KR from driving drunk is my point.
Again, JMO since the statement doesn't match up with anything else that has come out about KR's plans that night.

IF she took drugs and overdosed, why would it be on the teens, and why would they cover it up instead of trying to get help? I'm just thinking this through here, but it sounds as though the older guys--the ones allegedly past college age--are the ones who brought cocaine, etc to the party.

I also think there are far too many people for a successful cover up, unless something happened very late in the party with drugs between Kiely and a few individuals.

Capt Sam Brown told reporters: "We're trying to do the best that we can to keep things moving in a positive way and attempt to find some clues and locate some idea of where we need to get to. He added that they still want "all eyes and ears out there" moving into hunting season.
Timeline of missing teen's last moments from party to CCTV vid before she VANISHED

Hunting seasons change from year to year, depending on the specific game. Elk season, for example, generally ranges from late July-early August to as late as January, depending on the type of elk you are hunting.

*Hunters often find remains as they are great at finding shortcuts through the woods.

A planned fight or a violent fight?
This a great question. I would think if it was planned it would not be of much concern other than there might be more videos of people in a concentrated area. If it was violent fight a lot more chaos and potentially injury could happen to both the fighters and the onlookers, but that fight too would have videos of people gathered.

Random musings after reading through the excellent threads.

Her mom used the past tense for her daughter and then quickly changed it. from wa...to ...is. It could be that LE has already found evidence that she is most likely deceased.

In the mothers statements she just wants her daughter back no matter what, whether it be foul play or someone seeing her blacked out daughter getting in her car and driving away, which points to an accident..

It seems like the creme brulee shots get brought up a lot in the story.
Its not like these teens were making french custard and then flambeeing the caramel with a torch to get a crispy top. Its a pudding flavor. My guess is that they made a whole bunch of them.
SS says they were going around doing shots. My guess is that they were selling them as well. Maybe she traded the Lana hoodie for a couple of shots.

Also, no one has said it was alcohol in the shots. I am guessing mushrooms. Reason is, when I was in highschool, they took pudding and jello flavors like cherry, strawberry, chocolate, etc and then mixed it with crushed up mescaline, a mushroom, and then put it into clear capsules...thus it would be chocolate mesc they called it for example. IMO they were all tripping. In the store pic she kinda looks like she is tripping. That is why it took them almost 4 hours
to get from the store to the party.

No telling how many of these brulee shots got into the crowd, but most likely many. Older ones started showing up for the fight. Younger ones scattered when they realized they had blown their curfews.
In this mix we lost her. Also, if they were selling shots, she could have had at least 1OO bucks on her, her share. Money was going around that party., if they had certificates, they were taking bets and the older guys were most likely handling that. petty robbery at car gone wrong could have occurred.

SS may be hiding what was in the creme brulee. If Kiely was on mushrooms, she could have easily driven right into the lake or off a ridge or into a ravine. If SS left her friend tripping b@lls as they say, the guilt could make her leave out important clues as to what they had been up to, because as a Mom it seems like they were up to something.

Traditions, cultures. Not all are good. This annual party with minors and adults drinking drugging and fighting needs to come to a screeching halt. I wonder how many LE in Truckee attended that same party when they were underage and then turned a blind eye to it until now.
all MOO and theorizing

I think this theory given SS's plot holes and the early mass exodus at 12:30am.
OR in the water and SS struggled with recalling and relaying what happened.

With AWP making the trek to Nevada to help authorities search the water, it kinda leads me to believe the authorities found something but don't have the resources to get to it.

Strawberry and chocolate mescaline was the drug of choice back in my day. 1970 decade was a trip! We would mix the mescaline with Nestle Quik.

If she had extra cash to blow that might explain the surveillance video at the shop. I keep looking at that store. My first thought was a weed store. I seriously doubt she was there alone.

Sami said in her live interview that oftentimes there are more fights after a championship fight over who was the winner but this time, there was no doubt. (paraphrasing)

Kiely’s mama also said in an interview how sorry she is. I can’t find the exact quote right now but I’m pretty sure it was in one of her plea videos. I haven’t figured out what she’s so sorry for unless it’s because who her fears what Kiely must be going through.

*eta: I found a reference but this isn’t the quote I’m talking about. The one I’m talking about she says it a few times in a row with no explanation.

“There doesn’t seem to be anybody ever who I come across who doesn’t just love her,” her mother said. “She was so smart. She’s so funny. She’s great with little kids. I could go on and on about everything.”

If she could send a message to Kiely tonight, Rodni-Nieman said she would tell her this: “I love her so, so much. We’re all looking, and we’re all trying so, so hard. I’m so sorry we haven’t found you yet. We’re not giving up. Just hang in there, sweetie.”

Before we put too much emphasis on the mystery of why her car hasn't been found, it seems her car VERY EASILY may be parked somewhere right out in broad daylight and no one has noticed. A silver CRV isn't the least bit distinctive, and even if people are alertly looking for it, it could easily be parked in an apartment complex parking lot where no one has noticed. Or stashed behind an abandoned house, or in someone's garage. It may have quickly been driven out of state, where NO ONE is looking for it. As long as it's not in a private parking lot where the business closes and it would be obvious to security that it's abandoned, it may never be found.

I saw an ad on craigslist for some guy who wanted help finding his car, offered 500 bucks. He was visiting from out of town and parked it in a downtown parking garage and couldn't remember where. This was a month past, and he still hadn't gotten notification from the parking garage that his car was located abandoned.

Late night parties and inexperienced teen drivers are a bad combo. She likely had an accident, yet to be found, and in water seems probable based on the recent search focus. The parents must in horrid anguish.
I’d ignore about half of what the other teens are saying. They likely are doing their best to piece it together, but other factors are likely distorting perception

Amateur opinion and speculation

For anyone interested, (and I apologize if it has already been covered), I did a search of the cell towers near Truckee to see which one KR’s phone might last have pinged off of and fell within LE’s statement that the phone was near land and water in the campground area.
Of the several towers in the Truckee area, the closest to where the party was held is in an area called Alder Hill. See the attached tower map.
Measuring the distance from that tower to the party site, it is a little under 2.5 miles. Again looking at the map, it is easy to see why LE described it as a land/water area. The cell signal would cross over both from that tower making it harder for LE to figure out if it was on land or in the water when it pinged.

loyalty. fear. threats perhaps. being completely messed up on their own and making terrible decisions. they just prosecuted an adult (22 ish) for supplying fentanyl to a teenager who OD’d in the area. also, I believe Sami is 18. a lot of people in their direct friend group probably are, kiely is young for a graduating class. they live in a wealthy community. if they have the access and interest in alcohol not a chance they don’t also have the access and resources for at least cocaine and it is most likely there are at least a few in the core friend group who actually use it.

if anyone were to od there it probably wouldn’t be while standing in a crowd, they would likely in a car or standing off away from the crowd, like most people do drugs. and only 1 or 2 people would actually know.

KR’s Mom states she called SS around 8 a.m. when she woke and discovered her daughter wasn’t home to see if she spent the night there. So no. Don’t believe SS was one of the hiking crew

How did LNR know to call Sami? I thought Sami said she hadn't known Kiely would be at the party and they hadn't seen eachother for a while?.
I may be remembering wrong though, SS has said a lot of things.

I am fairly sure she got blackout drunk and drove into a body of water. I had a friend who did this, he missed a curve while drunk driving on his way to get home and ended up in a very small lake. It froze over and he was not located for about 4 months or so as we have a few bodies of water and there was pretty much no extensive search for him. I hope they find her sooner than him, it was a bit painful not knowing exactly what happened outside of him being drunk that night.

@LauraAnne, I agree that this is a very real possibility. But my concern is also that KR could be with her car parked somewhere - in the woods or among human structures and parking lots.

At 16, I doubt KR had much experience with using alcohol, pot, cocaine, narcotics, and / or hallucinogens. Those of us who indulged in our past, learned from years of trial and error what amounts we could tolerate, what we could mix and in what order, etc.

My fear is KR started driving somewhere - an after party? to Reno? to home? and after a bit realized she was feeling ill, woozy, confused, scared, and not able to process what was happening to her. In that state she'd possibly want to find a place to 'hide' in her car and rest or sleep it off before she continued or had to interact with another human.

From experience I know that many of the substances KR may have ingested that night have a delayed impact on your body and mind. Perhaps in this hypothetical scenario, KR parked somewhere, felt even sicker or mentally confused and eventually passed out. Sadly, with the right dose or right mix of some of those substances (e.g. alcohol and narcotics), she could have slipped into a coma and died of respiratory failure, heart attack or acute alcohol poisoning, etc.

Terribly sad to think. But this is why I wonder if KR and her car will be found together on ground and her death ruled an accidental overdose.

The Ram sticker on the rear window is key to finding KR's car if it is not under water. It provides a unique identifier for a common car.

LE should beat that drum loudly (that is, if they haven't found KR's car under water already and waiting on AWS).

ETA: IMO!
