Has there been any indication that they recovered the murder weapon? There would have been a lot of people pissed at the victim if they thought that he was taking pictures of their children. They must feel that Theo is a good suspect for a reason, but I would hope there would be more than just that confrontation where he put the guy in a bear hug until police got there to examine the victims camera.

"Last hearing on 4 May they scheduled another hearing for 18 July. We expect the trial would begin soon after that. Based on the discussion in this recent hearing we also have renewed hope of a non trial result. Thank you all for supporting Theo!"

Hearing today to set trial date.

Looked at LASD site and it says next court date is July 30 @ 8:30am. Don't "think" this is his trial date though. Guess I'll have to wait & see if there are any articles.

I have n been watching for it but have not seen any coverage so far.

1. Did the Accused have any prior contact with the Deceased...EVER.

I believe a statement from the police stated that the accused and the victim had no previous contact before the incident on the pier. As I have been to the pier on numerous occasions, I have been waiting for this trial as well.

As a side note, violent incidents on the pier or in the immediate area are very rare. Violence of any kind, let alone a senseless murder, hurt my memories of the pier.

Mica - I checked both sites, the LASD still says July 30th court date, but the L.A. County Criminal calendar search shows nothing. If he was in trial wouldn't it show today's date July 31st as a court date on there?
