Sanger says the defense has not received all the items from the prosecution including possible text messages. The preliminary hearing continues with motions and possible witness testimony on Friday morning.

Sanger also said Paul Flores should not have to stay in custody while they resolve “discovery issues.” Judge van Rooyen denied his request saying there has not been a significant change in circumstances. Paul Flores has no bail and will remain in custody.

After extended chamber discussions this morning, the court adjourned at about 11:15. They’ll reconvene to address multiple motions on Friday at 9 a.m.

“Events beyond our control have come up” said Sanger when discussing the change in circumstances due to the continue of adjournment, therefore requesting Paul be let out of custody. Peuvrelle asked the court to deny, Judge van Rooyen denied.

Defense attorney Robert Sanger, representing Paul Flores, made a motion for Paul Flores to be released with conditions or on reasonable bail. Sanger cited the prosecution sharing information at the “last minute.”

There were extended chambers conference this morning about scheduling the several motions the court needs to rule on. Court will pick up at 9am on Friday. Sanger filed a motion on Aug 16th to reduce Paul’s bail but it was denied by Judge van Rooyen, bail remains at no bail.

Today, Judge Craig van Rooyen denied the defenses motion to alter Paul Flores’ bail. The defense requested the bail be altered so that Paul Flores could be released from custody due to the prolonging of the hearing.

After a delayed start to day 10 of the Flores’ preliminary hearing, the hearing will continue to be postponed until Friday morning. On Friday they will be discussing multiple motions provided by the defense which have not be unsealed to the public yet.
