Thursday, June 16th:
*Juror Questionnaire Hearing (Day 4) (@ am PT) - CA - Kristin Denise Smart (19) (missing May 25, 1996 while walking back to her dorm from a off campus frat party at Cal Poly, reported missing on May 26, 1996, San Luis Obispo, still missing; legally declared dead on May 25, 2002) – *Paul Ruben Flores (19 @ time of crime/44/now 45) arrested (4/13/21), charged (4/14/21) & arraigned (10/20/21) with 1st degree murder. Plead not guilty. No bond.
*Ruben Ricardo Flores (55 @ time of crime/80/now 81) arrested (4/13/21), charged (4/14/21) & arraigned (10/20/21) with accessory to murder after the fact. Plead not guilty. $250K bond. Bond was lower to $50K. Has posted bond (4/22/21), out of jail.
Trial set to begin with final jury selection starting on 6/20 thru 6/24 for Paul & on 6/27 thru 7/1 for Ruben. Trial set to begin on 7/6/22. Trial has been moved from San Luis Obispo County to Monterey County in Salinas. For 2 juries: 12 jurors & 8 alternates.

6/15/22 Wednesday, Jury Questionnaire Day 3: No info on what happened Tuesday. Jury questionnaire continues on 6/16/22, when juror questionnaires & hardship requests are expected to be heard.

Jury selection is expected to begin next week

The trials for Paul and Ruben Flores, who are charged in connection with the murder of Kristin Smart, are still in the juror questionnaire phase.

The process began Monday in a Salinas courtroom where 1,500 people have been summoned.

This week, four separate groups of potential jurors have been filling out questionnaires. The court will then determine who will be moving onto the next round of jury selection, which is set to begin Monday, June 20, and continue through the end of the month.

While both Paul, charged with murder, and his father Ruben, charged as an accessory, are being tried at the same time, they will each have separate juries, meaning twelve jurors and eight alternates will be chosen for each defendant.

Opening statements are set to begin July 6 for the trial, which the judge has indicated could last into October.

The trial will not be televised. Monterey County Superior Court Judge Jennifer O’Keefe has denied requests for audio and video recordings of the trial and is only allowing still photography.
 
Not too sure IF there is questionnaire day today - as I couldn't find anything about this case - well over here at least.

6/16/22 Thursday, Jury Questionnaire Day 4: No info available. This week, four separate groups of potential jurors have been filling out questionnaires. Update in #KristinSmart case: The end of day numbers for the juror pool is 390 jurors total which will be returning for the next phase of the jury selection — widdled down from 1,520. About 270 for Paul Flores next week; and about 120 for the Ruben Flores the week of June 27

The court said that there will be no trial activity for the Paul Flores trial during the week of June 20.

Instead, the court said it scheduled jury selection will begin Monday, June 27.

The jury selection for Ruben Flores will start at a date to be determined, the court said it will provide a later update on that.

In a new revelation in the Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson murder case, the former boyfriend of the alleged killer, Kaitlin Armstrong, has revealed how she dated other men before carrying out the sensational murder of the cyclist. Colin Strickland has revealed how he had only briefly dated Wilson after splitting with Armstrong without realizing that this could lead to fatal consequences. Armstrong is being accused of murdering Wilson after her ex-boyfriend Strickland dated the deceased.

Strickland told the Sun website, “I had ended the relationship with Kaitlin and it was just interesting timing because Mo had come to Austin to visit a friend that exact week.

“It was completely unplanned and yeah, we started spending some time together.

“We were clearly going our separate ways but we just didn’t get enough inertia to separate.”

The 35-year-old champion cyclist added that Armstrong dated several men after he split with her.

Investigators are exploring the revenge angle in Wilson’s murder. Kaitlin may have developed jealousy after her ex-partner got romantically involved with Wilson. According to the Austin Police, Kaitlin was ‘furious and was shaking in anger’ after learning about Colin’s fling with Wilson.
