The Holocaust was tragic. Sandy Hook, Columbine, Aurora theater and other mass shootings are tragic.
I think this woman may have been trying to hoax her own "boyfriend" for some reason....out of $8,500 on "the easy payment plan".

Only by luck...there is always a chance of injury or worse to those who investigate "crimes" like this. She is lucky, Imo, that no one was hurt trying to "save" her. Jmo
 
From the above articles, the boyfriend has not been in contact with DH since this happened. That's very odd to me.
 
On the news here, I was able to hear a recording of her voice saying she was otherwise fine when she was kidnapped...she sounded like...bored not scared or stressed...there was no sound of distress in her voice. She sounds kinda drugged.

Being drugged up sounds plausible to me..........both her and the boyfriend. Maybe that was the source for the entire scheme. Sober, rational people wouldn't attempt something like this.

Indeed, Gitana. I think of the pages & pages of missing adults on Websleuths and can only shake my head. Their families would give anything for the media saturation and turnout of volunteer and LE assets that DH got.

To be perfectly honest, I wondered if the boyfriend/roommate/co-worker may have murdered her and come up with the kidnap story to explain her absence. Very glad that wasn't the case, but come on DH family: No one is accusing you of participating in this ill-conceived crime.
 
Unfortunately, Dr Phil will probably give her the $8500, plus a whole lot more, just to make an appearance on his show.

Aww, these new modern kidnappers. Not only do they arrange a payment plan but they also release the "victim" unharmed at her daddy's house and do followups to ensure that DH's name is cleared of any wrongdoing.

Man, what amazing kidnappers these are. Imagine that! They want to ensure that DH's name is cleared.

But Uncle lawyer claims that we're "in for a truth that is "one of the most tragic stories you're ever going to hear."

Most tragic? Really? She was only missing a few days, appears to have been well treated, no reports/evidence of bruises, abuse, rape, trauma, etc. Compare to the outcomes of the REAL kidnappings that we WSers know all to well which involves horrible abuse, trauma and often death. Me thinks the drama gene runs deep in this family as evidenced by the victim's story and Uncle's assessment of this as the most tragic stories. :drama::violin:

How can they still believe she was kidnapped when the "kidnappers" wanted a payment plan, released her without getting a dime to her mother's house, the bf could give no description of the supposed perps. And the kidnappers sending out emails to clear the victim of any wrongdoing. Crazy. I guess these are truly modern day kidnappers. So polite and responsible and concerned for their "victim." LOL
 
The emails will be looked at very closely as a means to follow the trail to their source.

6 page email? These kidnappers are unbelievable!

The alleged kidnappers of a California woman sent an email detailing their motive to the office of her boyfriend's attorney, he said Friday, saying it proves her disappearance was real and not a hoax as police have claimed.

Aaron Quinn's attorney Dan Russo declined to specify what was said in the six-page email that he claimed detailed the kidnappers' motivation for abducting DH.

If I kidnapped someone, returned them unharmed and the police in turn think that it was an elaborate hoax put on by the kidnapee...

there would be absolutely NO WAY I would try to prove my case to LE! "Yeah, really, officer, I tried to but couldn't go through with it, I did, I did. Believe me!!! She had NOTHING to do with it, I swear!!!!!"

These people are ABSOLUTELY nutty!
