2021 Year in Review: Fentanyl, plane crashes, and Maya Millete (10news.com)
Searching for Maya Millete: While the majority of America's attention was focused on the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, the mysterious disappearance of Maya Millete was a story that fell on everyone's radar in San Diego County as the mother of three never returned home. After nearly a year of searching for Maya, authorities have yet to find her or any trace of her last whereabouts. Her husband, Larry Millete, was eventually charged with her murder in October.

Now - the court has 4/14 & the article has 4/12 - which are we going to believe?

As you can tell, my entire post was just quoting media news. I think you're probably correct if you're finding that info on the court schedule. Luckily we have plenty of time before April.

Oh - I wasn't blaming you - just regarding your post on the date from the article! :)

Dear Maya, I have been on a WS break but you are in my thoughts, especially today. I hope you are found soon and that your evil killer gets what he deserves for what he did to you and your children. I hope those who helped him will also be prosecuted and that your children will remember you as the loving mother you were. <3

All my opinion only, justice for May.

On this one-year anniversary, I hope that Maya's children are feeling safe, getting closer to her family with every visit, and can soon transition to them permanently. Justice is coming...

Oooo Weeee!! Just finished reading LM’s parents reasoning as to why they should get custody of Maya’s kid’s (you know bc LM is in jail for, well, you know) and I think it is safe to say that apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

One year. :(
This must have been a hard day for Maya’s family, my heart goes out to them. Thinking about and praying for Maya’s family and her children. May she be found soon and brought home to her loving family so they can lay her to rest properly.

Beautiful Maya, you will never be forgotten, xo

Thinking of you today, Maya, as well as your beautiful family, who have tirelessly been searching for you for one year now.

I have faith that this will be the year that you are located, and put to rest by your loving family, in the manner you so very well deserve.

I am also highly confident that your murderer will never see the outside of a prison facility, and that is the one bright side of this heartbreaking case.

#JusticeForMaya

Maya Millete’s family on one year after mother’s disappearance: ‘We want this nightmare to end’
After 365 days, Millete’s sister, Maricris Drouaillet, says the family is still living a nightmare as they search for her and for justice.

“We still don’t now where she is,” Drouaillet said. “We’re still looking for answers and it’s just been really hard. It’s really hitting us hard this week.”

Sorting out the 4 court cases against Larry Millete | cbs8.com

1/12/22

Civil Gun Violence Restraining Order (Case # 37-2021-00019951):

[..]

Weeks after officers arrested Millete on murder charges on October 19, 2021, the City Attorney made a motion to dismiss the GVRO civil case. “Petitioner requests a dismissal due to Respondent’s no bail custody status and restrictions in the criminal case,” according to a minute order dated December 1, 2021, where the judge ordered the case “dismissed without prejudice.” The temporary GVRO in place against Millete was dissolved.

Family Court Petition for Visitation (Case # FL21005040S):

[..]

The case continues in Family Court with the next hearing set for February 25, 2022 at 8:45 a.m. in Dept. S-17 of the Chula Vista Courthouse.

The family court case is somewhat moot, at this point, as a probate judge in a separate guardianship case has granted weekly visitation (see below).

Criminal Court – Larry Millete Murder/Assault Weapon Charges (Case # CS319857):

[..]

A preliminary exam readiness hearing was set for February 28, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. in Dept. 9 of the Chula Vista Courthouse. His preliminary hearing was set for April 14, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. in Dept. 9 of the Chula Vista courthouse. Judge Dwayne Moring will oversee both hearings.

Probate Court Guardianship Petition (Case # 37-2021-00046499):

[..]

A trial hearing was set for January 19, 2022 at 8:45 a.m. in Dept. # 503 in the downtown San Diego courthouse. Lawyers for Drouaillet, however, are seeking a continuance of the trial in the case, due to discovery not being available or turned over.

[..]

The appointed Guardian Ad Litem in the case “desires to keep the hearing on calendar to request additional orders/modifications,” according to the filing.

@Niner

And two of the cases are now moot: the initial petition by Maya's parents since visitation granted after Maricris petition for guardianship, and LM's gun violence RO.

On my list I have - guardianship hearing on 1/19 & visitations on 1/25 - so those are no longer on the schedule? Just want to make sure I have everything right! TIA!
