It didn't take long after one read the facts of this case, to figure out what most likely happened. This was before they found the body!

My heart breaks for poor Mehria. She gave that child her heart and she repays her by "allegedly" murdering her!

What a sad, sad case.

:(

I waiting for somebody else to be arrested as an accomplice. She couldn't have done everything by herself. Although I see this happening more in a bickering rage, I do wonder if daughter and her bf thought she'd get the house or insurance money when Mehria died.

Oops, not the trial yet, but the preliminary hearing first.

"The preliminary hearing is set to resume Tuesday. Judge Margie G. Woods will determine if enough evidence was presented to order the defendant to stand trial."

"She (the mother) had some fear for her physical safety," the officer testified. "She told me she was scared of the boyfriend and/or her daughter."

Believe me, I need to see this murdering daughter get the full 25 yrs. in prison! I need to see Justice for Mehria.

This was an older adopted daughter who pretty much made her 79 yr. old mother's senior years a living hell. News report mentioned a possible motive that she had beaten Mehria up and didn't want her to go to a doctor appointment, so she strangled her and then used a blood pressure machine to check to see if she was really deceased. The daughter told a woman drug friend many of the facts, and that woman testified in court today. If not for the woman telling her ex, then Mehria's body might not have been found as fast.

"A break in the case came when one of the defendant's friends called her ex-husband, who told police a body was dumped near Lakeside."

Ghazal has court tomorrow, 1/20/15 at 8:30am PST. ROC says "Jury Trial"

Looking at her charges, looks like there is a charge for each of: THEFT:ELD/DEP ADULT $950+, BURGLARY, and MURDER:FIRST DEGREE.

Hopefully the press gives us an update!

Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday in the trial of a woman accused of killing her 79-year-old mother in their Serra Mesa home, then dumping her body on the Barona Indian Reservation...

In his opening statement of trial, Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood told jurors the defendant and her mother argued constantly over the younger woman's "druggie" friends, a dog and the cleanliness of the older woman's Serra Mesa home...

The defendant told police she went to work on Sept. 25, 2013, but her Viejas Casino club card was used twice at the casino after 4 a.m. that morning, Greenwood said. That same day, the defendant used a laptop computer to search "homicide" and "blood spatter," according to the prosecutor.

During a three-week murder trial this month, Ghazal Mansury, now 44, took the witness box to tell the jury that it was all a terrible accident. Ghazal admitted that at the time she was “drug addled” and “I wasn’t thinking right”...

During trial, prosecutor Paul Greenwood produced a witness who said that Ghazal described strangling her mother with an inner tube from a bicycle’s tire; investigators had found a large number of inner tubes and other bicycle parts in the garage where Ghazal lived. The same witness said she understood that Ghazal wanted to prevent her mother from going to a medical appointment the following day, because Ghazal had inflicted injuries to her mother in prior altercations...

Deliberations began just before noon yesterday, January 26.

"Ghazal Jessica Mansury, 43, is expected to be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison at a hearing March 6."

Also this which makes me wonder why her boyfriend didn't face any charges.

"Mansury testified that she was gambling at Viejas Casino in Alpine a few hours after she learned her mother was dead, while her boyfriend and another man dumped the body."

RIP Mehria Mansury

She will most likely spend the rest of her life in prison. The Judge gave her the harshest sentence WITHOUT PAROLE or probation due to Ghazal Mansury showing no sign of remorse for the killing of her mother. She had a chance to speak up and address all the grieving family members in court today, but she did not speak or address them. Mehri Mansury's family members are still suffering grief and depression over her murder.

"Mansury implied in a letter she wrote in jail that she wanted two people dead who provided information that helped point police to the body."
