It sounds like they had so much incriminating evidence! I wonder why they waited so long to arrest her?

I have a feeling that a prenatal paternity DNA testing was done first... scott might not be the daddy of this 2nd baby IMO...and they are trying to build a case against her - but i would think she isnt alone on this IMO..

Hayward PD says Homicide.
Giselle is pregnant at the time of the murder. She is not going to be carrying a body
when she is pregnant. She is either going to do a quick roll and dump the body or
toss the body in garbage can etc.
Or she took the body somewhere and had help.

If she killed Michelle in her car (didn't LE say M's blood was in her car?) and then drove her somewhere else, she probably isn't too far from a road...unless she was able to push her into water. I can't imagine her hauling Michelle way out into a canyon someplace. And I also can't imagine this suspect having anyone in her life who would help her dispose of a murder victim...I suppose it is possible, but LE seems to think she did this on her own and they are the ones with the evidence...

It would be great to have all the details in one place.
i.e. the trail of the cell phone. Was she placed in a dumpster.
Blood in a car doesnt mean murder, could have been a punch in the nose.
Brain Matter in a car means homicide
What exact time was the car found. (that will give you a idea of how long they had to
dispose of the body.)
Has anybody ever posted a description of Giselles car? Lic Plate?
Giselle Esteban told KGO-TV at the time that she hated Le because she was friends with the father of Esteban's young daughter. But Esteban said she had nothing to do with Le's disappearance.
people rationalize all the time.
That could be a TRUE STATEMENT. She might not have anything to do with the disappearance
but that doesn't mean she didn't kill her.
And my big question is, where is all the blood??
Unless she was hit on the head and knocked unconscious and transferred to a different vehicle.

I am guessing there was quite a lot of blood in the vehicle, since LE determined Michelle had been murdered almost at once...

Niles Canyon has a river that runs right through it. I used to drive it for work every day. There are many sections that you can pull right off the road and be near water...

Not sure if I'm embedding this right, but try zooming along the street level: http://g.co/maps/28t9m

Follow Highway 84 to the right between the cities of Fremont and Sunol.

Trying this again with a close-up shot zoomed in of the river and proximity to the road:http://g.co/maps/28t9m

Could she have taken Michelle at gunpoint/knife point to the place where she left her body? Maybe she shot, cut, or hit her but didn't kill her, made her get out of the car and killed her.

Of course, Michelle seemed to be small. Don't know about Gizelle but with anger and adrenaline, she might have been able to drag her from a car.

I worked at Kaiser and I was told by someone in housekeeping that there was ALOT of blood found in the parking garage from where Michelle disappeared. So it sounds like she was attacked outside her car, either that or attacked in her car and was trying to get out. This is why I think the LE says she was murdered. So there must have been alot of blood somewhere for LE to call it murder.

"(09-09) 17:11 PDT HAYWARD --

A Union City woman made her first court appearance Friday on a murder charge in the slaying of a nursing student who vanished from a Hayward parking garage more than three months ago.

Giselle Esteban, 27, who is pregnant, did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm the details of her legal representation."

""Public defender - I'm not quite sure," Esteban told Judge Michael Gaffey during a brief hearing in Alameda County Superior Court in Hayward.

The judge ordered her to return to court Monday. She is being held in isolation at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin not because of her pregnancy, but because of the high-profile nature of the case, said sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson."

Does anyone have a description of Giselle's Car??????????????????????????????

if she got killed at the garage, the security footage should show who is the person driving her car maybe?

HAYWARD -- Giselle Esteban, the 27-year-old Union City resident suspected of killing former friend Michelle Le, was arraigned on a murder charge Friday but did not enter a plea. She is scheduled to return to court Monday. <snip>
Marasigan has said that Esteban's sentiment regarding his relationship with Le is not accurate, and took out a restraining order against Esteban days before Le vanished because of the suspect's erratic, threatening behavior.Marasigan was in court Friday to support the Le family -- he also has participated in numerous support rallies and search events -- but declined to comment on the case.
Esteban was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday but it was held over because she needed unspecified medical attention. Sheriff's spokesman J.D. Nelson said it wasn't an emergency, but medical staff at Santa Rita Jail determined that Esteban needed to be seen at an outside medical facility for a "routine appointment." more at link: http://www.contracostatimes.com/ci_...contracostatimes.com-www.contracostatimes.com

She's going to use the pregnancy as a way to stay out of jail and get off the murder charge.

I hope they find Michelle soon.

bolded by me.

You are probably right, JeannieC, but if that's Esteban's plan, I don't think it will work !

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I feel for the unborn baby and hope the baby is born healthy and placed in a good home. I hope though that this pregnancy is not used to prevent speedy justice. I don't know how the criminal process works when someone in custody is pregnant.
It would be helpful maybe if Michael focuses more attention on the cars that may have been used to leave Michelle somewhere. Even though it's been months maybe someone saw Michelle or Estebans car somewhere odd that night. Bigger pics of the cars and then if they went back out the areas they are searching with pics of both cars it might jog someones memory.

Being pregnant didn't prevent Diane Downs from being convicted of wounding her 3 children, killing one of them, so I don't think it will get Esteban off the hook, either. I hope the baby will be born healthy and go to a good home, too.

Wow, I've been out of town and without a computer for a while. I come back and find that GE has now been arrested.

Forgive me if the following has already been posted. This article lists the factors leading to the arrest. It seems they have a lot on her:

  • surveillance video showing Esteban in the parking garage,
  • blood stains in Le's car,
  • evidence Esteban had been inside Le's car,
  • cellphone records showing the two women's phones traveled to the same remote area near Niles Canyon, and
  • a pair of Esteban's tennis shoes with Le's DNA on them.
