The person of interest is named Bob Tang and is known to Chhay’s family. He was the same person Chhay was supposed to meet the day he went missing, police said, and is believed to be the last person to see Chhay

This ABC article states that Piseth's long-time friend of five years, Bob Tate, is now a person of interest. Tate's car was found on Wednesday at the San Francisco Airport. Notably, Tate failed to show for a meeting with investigators on Tuesday. It is suspected, at this time, that Tate has fled to Cambodia.

On the news last night, the burned-out and stripped Mercedes SUV was found in the Bayview District of San Francisco (not a good area). Picture accompanied the report.

According to Piseth's wife, Bob Tang is a close friend of the family. Good chance Tang went to Cambodia.

"At this point, we have obtained evidence that might lead us to the location of Mr. Chhay and exactly what happend," said San Francisco Police Officer Grace Gatpandan.

The day Chhay drove away from his home, he said he was going to help Tang with some of his rental units. "We knew his friend owns apartment buildings," Chhay's cousin Sovanarath Chi told KTVU. "He thought he was going there to help, fix stuff up.

Police call Tang a person of interest, but Piseth Chhay and his family called him a friend.

"We cook together, we eat together, like family member," said Chhay's wife Rattana king.

Despite their long friendship, Chhay's wife says she hasn't spoken with Tang's wife during this time.
