I still cannot wrap my mind around her not being kept in hospital. If nothing else, she had lost 13% of her bodyweight, and not by eating right and exercising. It really boggles the mind.
I guess it brings to my mind my sister, who ultimately died from an eating disorder, but anytime we were able to get her near a hospital, they kept her at least overnight to pump some nutrition into her, if she weighed under 100 lbs. And this was without other varied injuries.
On a happier note, my niece is in labor...will be the first child among all nieces and nephew.
It's possible she "refused" to stay. I would think after 3 weeks of captivity the last thing you would want is to be told you can't leave (even if it's a hospital).
